A Price So Small |Part 1|

Ino Yamanaka had everything she could ever want. You name it and it's a guarantee she has it. Whether it was her luxurious lifestyle which included a beautiful home too big even for her, transportation in the most expensive cars in the world, and her looks, she had it. The loquacious woman may be chatty, but she can easily talk through getting anything she wants, even when it comes to men. Disregarding her items of luxury, her most prized possession is that of pride to her. . . Something only someone like her could have. A beautiful yacht perhaps? Maybe even a private jet? Not even that served as a prize to her, but a living essence that filled the void of a significant other. Indeed, a man with looks that could make any woman drop to her knees, as well as the mysterious aura that sparks an immediate interest in every individual that comes face-to-face with him.

She always looks at him with eyes full of lust and he looks at her too with an emotionless gaze, one that no one could ever decipher. Ino never knew the meaning of it, they're only dating anyway, but she had no intentions of letting him out of her grip. She wants him with all her heart. Why? She doesn't know. To her, he's perfect and when he agreed to go on a date with her, she felt ecstatic. The date was successful and she knew they were going to meet again, which did indeed happen. That deep voice of his was hypnotizing and she found herself constantly becoming delirious from the sound of the rich and velvet tone. How could she become so lucky? A hypothesis of hers was because of her lifestyle that made dating such a successful occasion. It was then that Ino invited Sasuke Uchiha to a formal party in celebration of her parent's wedding anniversary, which consisted of rich bottles of champagne and expensive gowns and suits. The Uchiha agreed with slight hesitation and she knew at that point. . .

Ino Yamanaka won Sasuke Uchiha.

She put on her real peal earrings and jeweled bracelet, costing just as much as a house. People had already arrived, but the only guest she wants to see is Sasuke. When she entered the room with her expensive purple gown that flowed to the ground, she knew all eyes were on her, even the young Uchiha's. Giving a slight smirk, she approached him and gave him a small kiss on the cheek, a subtle gesture that she uses on almost every guest. His reaction held zero response, but she ignored it.

"I'm glad you could make it," Ino smiled.

He gave her a nod and took a look around the room, scanning each and every person, but stopped when the blue-eyed blonde said, "I guess I'll introduce you to some of my friends. They're a little different at first, but you'll soon grow to appreciate them."

Looking around the room, Ino saw the back of her pink-haired best friend, whom was wearing a plain sleeveless mint green dress that stopped just below her knee. Her dress did not fit with the crowd, but it was normal for Ino's friend to look that way. She was not known to have as much of a rich lifestyle like the rest of the people in the room.

Taking Sasuke's hand, Ino said, "Ah, come meet my best friend Sakura."

"Sakura?" Sasuke asked Ino, confused by her name.

Slowly walking with him, "The name fits, trust me. You'll see," waving her hand up, Ino raised her voice, "Hey! Sakura, over here!"

It was then that the girl with short-pink hair turned around at the voice of her best friend. Giving a confused smile, she approached Ino, but not without noticing the man she was next to.

Stopping in front of them, she looked at the blonde and said, "What do you want, Pig?"

Ino sheepishly chuckled at Sakura's lack of a social filter and replied, "I'd like you to meet my . . . uh- acquaintance, Sasuke Uchiha," she looked at the man, "Sasuke, this is Sakura Haruno. Don't mind her large forehead, you get used to it."

Sakura looked at the onyx-eyed man and smiled, reaching her hand out, "Hello, nice to meet you."

He grabbed her hand a squeezed slightly, but not without looking at the woman with such curiosity. Sasuke understood what Ino meant by 'the name fits.' Her hair answered the question. And her attire . . . not as opulent as everyone else's. No jewels nor pearls, not even a single accessory. She just looked normal and he was not used to seeing someone like that.

Sakura looked at his eyes and she felt very intimidated from his onyx-eyed gaze that overwhelmed her. He was obviously a man with money and she felt very out of place, even though everyone else was just like him. Perhaps it was because of his flawless look and dark façade that made her feel this way. Being quick to let go of his hand, she was determined to get out of this awkward situation.

Giving a fake smile, the pinkette said, "Well, I suppose I'll let you two mingle."

A confused look crossed Ino's features when she said, "Why so soon? You two just met."

"I'm not feeling very well actually. I'll be outside at the garden if you need me."

Sighing, Ino replied, "Alright."

Sakura then looked at the Uchiha, "Again, nice meeting you."

Giving her a slight nod, he responded, "You as well."

It was only twenty minutes after Sakura leaving that Sasuke had to follow Ino around pointlessly as she talked to random people in the room, forgetting about his existence. He didn't care for her attention much anyway at this point. To him, it was a mistake coming to this place, especially when he doesn't know Ino very well.

Leaving her side without her noticing, he ventured outdoors to a garden. He had no idea where he was going, but Sasuke found himself in a garden with a small pond and a series of lights on the sides. It was a beautiful sight to say the least, but what really caught his eye was a strange color of hair that he had just encountered earlier. He didn't know how he should approach the woman. Hell, he didn't have any intentions of approaching her in the first place, but her intense gaze on the pond struck his curiosity. She seemed to have a lot on her mind by the looks of it and all he could do was stare at her. Sasuke made his final decision to approach the woman, even if it was reluctant. With a final exhale, he did so very slowly, only stopping right next to her and staring at the pond as well, waiting to see if she would notice him, which indeed she did.

She gave him a shy look before averting her eyes down, not wanting to meet the gaze of the intimidating man. What is she supposed to say? It's awkward and she hates that type of atmosphere. Where was Ino? She would make this a hell of a lot easier and light-hearted. Sakura Haruno didn't understand what was happening. Something so simple was going on, just an attractive man standing next to her, following suit by staring at the pond and around the garden, so why was she acting like a timid teenager?

"There seems to be a lot on your mind," his deep voice brought her out of her anxious thoughts and she looked back the pond.

Hesitating, she responded, "There always is."

His curiosity was getting the best of him, so he said, "I look at each individual at this formal party and all I see are rich accessories and pricey attires, but then there's you," Sakura gulped upon hearing his words, but he still continued with a single question, "why is that?"

How could he ask such a personal question? To break it down, was he asking her why she didn't look as affluent as the rest of them?

"That's a strange question to ask someone you don't know."

Averting his onyx eyes to her, he said, "You've sparked my curiosity and that causes me to ask you a blunt question."

Chuckling in disbelief, Sakura responded by saying, "How disrespectful. You're just like the rest of these wealthy people," his gaze darkened at her, but she continued, "Is it so unbelievable to see a middle-class citizen who doesn't spend money on lavish things that I don't need? I just met you not even an hour ago and this is how you approach me?"

He had to smirk slightly at her response. She was sassy, to put it simply, but nonetheless she was right. Sasuke Uchiha never converses with those below him because he's cocky and has an ego the size of the world.

"Middle-class? Interesting," he replied.

The pinkette stared at him in disbelief and exclaimed, "You're unbelievable!"

Wanting to leave this rude man, she started to walk with heavy steps, but her heeled shoe collided with a small rock, making her lose balance and she knew at the very moment that she would fall right in front of this man. The last thing she needed was to embarrass herself. A strong hand gripped her skinny arm and stopped her from the impact that was to come. He placed his hand on her waste and gently stopped her from stumbling.

Once he let go of her, she brushed herself off and said with an attitude, "I suppose I should thank you for not making me embarrass myself."

He didn't respond to her thanks, but said, "Sakura . . . I'd like to know more about you. What do you say?"

She then gawked at him and said, "I say you're dating my best friend."

He internally glared at the thought of the blonde Yamanaka, but disregarded her and said, "Walk with me."

Giving a confused expression, but nonetheless said, "If it gets you off my back, fine."

The blue-eyed woman laughed at one of her guest's stories and looked behind her to look at the Uchiha, but was disappointed to see he wasn't there. Where did he go and when did he leave? Saying an 'excuse me' to the guests that she was conversing with, Ino looked around the room and saw the door leading to the garden open. Once she slowly entered the outdoors, she looked around the garden and stopped when she saw two people she knew talking to each other. The pink-haired woman looked down and slightly laughed at something the man must have said and Sasuke just gave her a small smirk.

This outraged Ino. Wanting whatever was happening to stop, she yelled, "Sasuke!"

With an irritated expression, Sasuke looked at the woman, as did Sakura. The Yamanaka walked towards the two and said, "I've been looked everywhere for you, Sasuke. H-How long have you two been out here?"

Sakura hesitated, but said, "A while. W-We just got to talking and-"

Ino cut her off by saying to the pinkette, "Sakura, you can go now."

"But-"

Looking down upon her, she said, "You aren't dressed for the event anyway. It's best you leave."

Sakura knew exactly why Ino did this. She found her and Sasuke talking to each other and Ino became jealous, due to her being very protective over men she likes. Sighing, Sakura nodded and left, but not without the Uchiha watching her every move with eyes full of longing at the woman.

Ino grabbed his chin and made him look at her. She gave him a seductive look and said, "No need to look at her. She's below us."

He glared at her and said, "Isn't she your best friend?"

Chuckling sheepishly, she said, "Well yeah, but you're my date here, remember?"

Leaving her grip, he said, "Not anymore. I don't associate myself with someone who talks down on their friends. Wealth doesn't determine who you talk to."

"But Sasu-"

Beginning to walk away, he said, "We're done here."

With confusion present in her facial expression, she asked herself; what were they talking about?

I was going to make this all one part, but it's a bit long, so I'll make it two parts.

Hope you enjoyed! Constructive criticism is very much appreciated.
