The girls are screaming at the top of their lungs as they wave their banners and glowing-in-the-dark sticks in the air. Music is blaring through the massive speakers, booming their ears. Tony have to plug in cottons into his ears while cringing as he watches the girls going crazy on his sides. If this is an AC/DC concert he wouldn't mind all that. Natasha and Wanda look like they're enjoying themselves, smiling and bobbing their heads up and down when four boys are singing while doing stunts on stage. Steve, although he doesn't enjoy as much as his girl colleagues, but he has a phone in his hand, capturing every moment in the stadium.
The crowded stadium make it seems impossible for them to find the girl Nick wants. From behind, all of them look the same. All have their hairs down and in the dark they pretty much have the same dark hair colour. They're wearing white t-shirts that Tony believes the t-shirt they bought outside the stadium with "I love 1D" written at the front. Everyone looks naturally excited. No one seems to be hiding herself or acting suspicious.
Natasha enjoys watching the girls going mad. Sometimes laughing and smirking to herself seeing their behaviours. Deep inside she wishes she was one of them. She walks deeper into the stadium, somehow looks as if she's in there for pleasure, but her eyes are sharply looking at every one of the girls.
"You got anything?" Steve's voice appears on their earpiece.
"No," Scarlet Witch replies. "But she's not far away from us."
"Good that," Steve says as he continues to walk casually, smiling awkwardly when he notices the girls winking at him. The phone in his hand is still pointing upwards, but by now I don't know what he's recording. The camera is pointing at every direction carelessly. "Nat? What about you, Tony?"
Natasha laughs enthusiastically. "These girls are insane. I wish I am one of them."
"You are one of them, Nat," Tony replies sarcastically. "Did anyone tell you that you're insane for going in here with smile on your face when you actually should be serious for the mission? Not to forget that you laugh!" the billionaire points out. "Gosh. . . Please find her as soon as possible, guys. I can't stand any longer. I'd rather lose my job than being here."
While eyeing around, Steve cannot help but smirks at Tony's complain. "I don't know why but this mission will going to be the biggest deal for you, Stark. You better do your work than complaining."
"In fact, I am," Tony replies in a matter-of-a-factly. "And I think I found her." Tony glances at the girl a few seats beside him before he glances at her colleague behind his back. Wanda is already standing there, in position in case their target is running away - which is absolutely going to happen. Their target is an assassin after all.
"Location," Steve demands.
"Middle compartment. Third row from the front," Tony gives the details. "She's wearing short jeans and white- what's with these girls wearing white t-shirts that so exposing?" He sighs in frustration. He then continues. "She has a bag with her. Though it doesn't look any harmful to me . . . just be careful."
"Found her," Natasha informs not only a few seconds after that. Tony turns to his left and sees the woman standing at the end of the other side of the row. A smirk plastered on her lips, amused when she sees their target.
"I'm right behind you, Nat," Steve informs as he stands a few feet away from Natasha. Just like Wanda, he's ready in his position. "Now, whenever you're ready," he calls for Tony and Natasha.
Both Natasha and Tony are now facing their target, who is too caught in the concert with One Direction. She's enjoying the current song that's playing and seems oblivious that there are four Avengers around her, herding her, ready to capture her. The happy smile and the glinting in her eyes and her childish look that's so unharmful - totally the opposite from what she is - for a second catches Tony's heart. That smile at the end of her lip reminds Tony of someone.
"Guys, I don't think I can do this," Iron Man says with a shudder. The confession makes Wanda, Natasha and Steve taken aback.
"Scared of a little assassin, Stark?" Natasha teases. Tony narrows his eyes at Natasha in anger.
Tony scoffs. "Scared? Of an assassin? Never," he exclaims, trying to hide his nervousness. "I am concerned with other girls' fun time. We came here just to catch a girl. A girl. But we'll going to ruin every girl's happiness. And moment. And the concert itself."
"Since when did you care so much about people, Tony?" A new voice suddenly breaks through their earpiece.
"Ah, Nick! You're here," Tony replies with an eyebrow raised. He inserts his hands into his pants and watches a boy with yellow hair singing at the front stage, trying to act casual when he notices some guards down the stage eyeing him. "Enjoying fangirling the band?"
"Shut up!" Nick warns. Tony could feel the director rolling his eyes behind him. "I'm here to do my job. Now as I'm doing so, I need you to catch Hermione. Don't let her slip."
"As you wish, sir," Natasha says delightly. Out of them four, she's the one who mostly feels excited to catch Hermione.
No one says anything then. Tony turns to Hermione and sees that the girl is still enjoying the concert. He then looks at Natasha as if to wait for her cue. When Natasha nods her head, Tony shakes his. He has to. Somehow he knows this is not going to be an easy task. He walks pass the standing girls, bowing his head down and hiding his face under his hat. He counts his steps until he reaches Hermione he stops.
Tony taps the girl's shoulder lightly and she turns with a frown. The face Hermione makes, makes Tony wants to back-up. But not because he's afraid of her, but because he doesn't want to intervene his target while she's having fun. He feels so guilty for doing so. And he doesn't even know why.
He clears his throat to say something to her politely so that she would follow him, but when his dark eyes meet her dark eyes, he freezes. As his eyes stare widely at the girl in shock, something in those pair of dark eyes make Tony pale. Though his ears go temporarily deaf, but he heard Hermione gasps. The girl mutters something intelligible.
While Tony continues to look at her in shock, Hermione backs away, knowing that she's caught. Not just by an Avenger or Avengers, but caught into her past by someone she taught herself to hate and to forget. She's caught by someone she's been dreading to meet and exchange gaze with. Hermione personally doesn't care if she's get caught by the Avengers, but out of other members, why him? Why Tony?
She turns to her other side only to see that Natasha is smiling at her evilly. That Widow . . . must she be here, too? Hermione grumbles while thinking of ways to escape herself from being dragged away. She slips her hand inside her bag, trying to find pepper spray in between her keys and old t-shirt and old bracelets and everything. As she struggles to find the spray, slowly she walks away from Tony as a trick.
"Don't ever think of escaping, my dear," Tony whispers. The nickname "my dear" strikes Hermione's heart like lightning. She remembers how her father used to call that name to her loving mother before she died, before he left, before everything changes.
Tony's hand grips Hermione's hand that's searching for the pepper spray, the same time Hermione grabs the pepper spray. "You're surrounded. We won't hurt you if you give yourself to us." Tony doesn't know why he needs to speak softly.
Hermione stares into Tony's eyes. The fear and flame inside her eyes slowly fade away as she catches up her breath. With Tony's hand on hers, she remembers how her father's hand gripping on hers to stop her from running away when they go out while telling her not to go there. She was one small, active child that loved to move. It aches her heart to see him now, still looking like how he looked.
"Never," Hermione says sternly. She pulls her hand from Tony's grip and takes out her pepper spray and points it at Tony's face. However, Tony is fast enough to push Hermione's hand away. The pepper spray slips off Hermione's hand. "What the . . ."
Hermione then do a quick turn. Tony didn't see of what happens next. As swiftly as an arrow, Hermione gets up on the chair behind her, pushes every girl that gets in her way as she jumps from from chair to another chair quickly.
"Shit," Tony mutters as he watches Hermione running away.
Natasha groans and rolls her eyes, annoyed with Tony for letting Hermione goes. If it was her who approaches the girl in the first place, nothing like this will happen, Natasha thought. "What the hell, Tony? She's just a simple task!" Widow - and so do Steve and Wanda and Tony - follows after the girl. Now they have to deal with other girls that are screaming and guards that are coming their ways. "See what you have done?"
"Well, I am sorry I can't handle her and she runs away. I'm not one who approaches an assassin like that, for your information. I am Iron Man. And Iron Man wears suit and shoots with its beam at-"
"Just get the girl!" Steve cuts him off.
Tony grunts as he runs. And grunts again when he has to keep an eye over the girl in order not to lose her again the second time. And more grunts escape when the girls that get in his way while he runs, slowing down his process. "Wanda," he suddenly pronounces.
"I know," the witch replies pleasurely, knowing what she has to do. After years of practicing, she has now mustered to control her powers and use it when she really has to use it.
As Steve, Natasha and Tony look after the girl and informing the girl's position, Wanda tries her best to get as close to the Hermione. It's so hard to get to their target in a little chaos. If Piettro is here, it would be easier because he can run fast and can catch the target fast so it would be easy for Wanda to possess the target. But, unfortunately, Piettro is not here now or never so she has to work harder.
"Catch her yet?" Nick Fury asks. His whereabout is concealed. Maybe he's somewhere close to the main power supply.
"No," Steve answers shortly.
"How about you ask Tony?" Natasha says breathlessly.
"Seriously, Nat. Not over yet?" Tony replies. Then them both continue to quarrel while doing their job.
"Stop it, guys. I got her," Wanda says calmly. It makes Natasha and Tony stop arguing, and Steve stops running in relief.
"Good," Nick says. "Now out. All of you out. I've some last business to finish," the director tells so proudly. Natasha and Tony quickly get out of the stadium to their car to get ready; meanwhile Steve and Wanda are finding the exit way with Hermione obligly follow behind the witch.
Just in time . . .
As soon as Steve, Wanda and Hermione exit the stadium, heading towards their car in front of their eyes, the stadium turns completely dark. From the outside, they can hear the girls screaming for their lives in the stadium. The guards, who are on duty to guard outside, are now running inside the stadium to see what has happened.
"My God, what has Nick done?" Tony asks no one in particular. Half of him feels so relieved for finally escaping the crazy crowds, but half of him wants to laugh when he imagines what could possibly happen in there.
"Let's go," Steve orders in his pant. Natasha, who sits behind the wheel, nods once and starts to drive away.
They leave the set with one last glance behind on the rear-view mirror. Only a few seconds after they leave, the stadium turns bright once again. Though they do not know what Nick Fury's plans are, but they know that by now, there are no more One Direction boys on stage.
With Hermione, whom Wanda has put her to sleep, they drive back to their headquarter.
