Chapter 3 Poems and Doki Antics
Narrator: Today Y/N is smiling in the Literature Club Room. He has been able to sing with the whole Club and now they are going to share Poems this time. Hopefully without something going wrong again.
Y/N's POV
After what happened earlier which we should all forget, but hopefully it doesn't happen again. Problem is that it may happen and I might die from it. Hopefully I survive before it kills me.
Y/N: So... should we share our Poems?
I wanted to ask the question since it was on my mind. Not for a while or a just now, it's been on my mind when I woke up in this world. I'm so glad that they saved me from that torment and gave me a chance to be free.
Monika: I nearly forgot about that. Though... are you sure you wanna share poems with us? I mean this is a big step for you and your... new to it.
Y/N: Monika. I'm pretty sure trying something will always be a big step.
Monika: Like Yuri?
Y/N: Like Yuri.
Yuri: H-Hey!
Natsuki: Sounds about right.
Sayori: Yup.
Yuri: W-What!? Both of you?
Sayori: Mmhmm.
Natsuki: Mmhmm.
Sayori and Natsuki: Mmhmm.
Okay we're getting sidetracked.
Y/N: You girls wanna do the game moment where we share our poems?
Monika: That would be dangerous, but... 'Smiles' why not? With you actually being here we can get some interesting suggestions for the festival.
Right... the festival is important for the girls and since they got deleted and with a issue Monika had they never got to have the happiest day. Since I'm here I'll make sure they get their hood ending, no matter what I'll protect them since they helped me.
Y/N: Let's do it.
Who should I show my poem to first though?
When I was thinking about it immediately the first person that came to my mind was Sayori.
I'm definitely most comfortable sharing it with Sayori first. She's MC's good friend, after all. Plus I... could use feedback on what they might like since it's really them.
Sayori: ... ...Oh my goodness! This is sooooo good, Y/N!
Y/N: Eh?
She... likes it?
Sayori: I love it~! I had no idea you were such a good writer!
Y/N: Sayori... 'Sweating while smiling nervously' You must be seriously overreacting. I'm not a good writer at all. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing.
I might have been going with the flow and used my emotions to bring out how I feel, but... I'm not sure how it'll turn out when I say it out loud.
Sayori: Well... Maybe that's why! Because I have no idea what I like, either! Ahahaha!
O///o M-Must protect her innocence!
Y/N: Jeez...
I'm sure Yuri's opinion has to be a little more constructive than this. Maybe even Natsuki's. Though this is interesting to hear her own opinion about my poem.
Y/N: Are you sure you don't like it just because I wrote it?
Sayori: Eh? Well, Im sure that's part of it. I think I understand you better than a lot of other people, you know? So when I read your poem... It's not just a poem... It's a Y/N poem! And that makes it feel extra special! Like I can feel your feelings in it~
Sayori hugs the sheet against her... face?
Y/N: You're so weird, Sayori..
Sayori: Ehehe... I'm really happy just that you wrote one. It just reminds me of how you're really a part of the club now~
Not to mention the fact that I'm standing in front of you in the clubroom...? Plus... I never really understood her way of thinking, so... this could help me understand her better.
But... being part of the club? Actually... now that I think about. She's right, me being here would mean I'm actually part of the club itself and since they saved me, I can really be apart of something I've wanted for so long. Plus... I did want to be here with the girls since they understand what's going on and I understand parts of what they go through. I never went into anything personal and I never really understood how girls work. I have a feeling I shouldn't know what that means or what it's about. Probably for the best that I never find out.
Y/N: Er...well, of course. I'm not really into it yet, but that doesn't mean I'll break my promise.
Sayori: See? It's like I said before, Y/N... Deep down, you're not selfish at all you know? Trying new things like this for other people... That's something that only really good people do!
Good... people...?
...
...
...
...
Am I even a good person after what I've been through?
...
...
...
...
Me being here must have caused a slight change in her. Actually I think all four of them have changed. I better be careful if something goes wrong.
Y/N: Thanks...Sayori.
...I'm not sure if Sayori sees the full picture of my motive here. Then again. I can't deny that she's part of the reason I'm here. Knowing how much this means to her and all...
This... is embarrassing. Sharing a poem with someone you don't know would make sense, but considering that I'm still new to it was the main reason. I went with an Epiphany Poem since I was more aware of my position. I think Monika would enjoy something like that. There's a reason I didn't write the one I wanted.
The original Poem I wanted to do was to make a mixture of all four types with my personal experience. Sad and happiness from Sayori, cuteness from Natsuki, horror and mysterious from Yuri and finally parts of the Epiphany from Monika. My personal experience is based on their roles and I would use Supernatural on my part.
Sayori: Yeah. And I'm gonna make sure you have lots of fun here, okay? That will be my way of thanking you~
Y/N: Alright, I'm going to hold you to that, then.
Sayori: Yay~! Now you'll read my poem too, right? Don't worry, I'm really bad at this. Ehehe...
Y/N: We'll see about that.
Time to read this Poem and learn from the four experts of the Literature Club. Believe me they are better at this than me, so it would make sense that I learn the basics when I made it.
Sayori's Poem
Dear Sunshine
The way you glow through my blinds in the morning
It makes me feel like you missed me.
Kissing my forehead to help me out of bed.
Making me rub the sleepy from my eyes.
Are you asking me to come out and play?
Are you trusting me to wish away a rainy day?
I look abore. The sky is blue.
It's a secret, but I trust you too.
If it wasn't for you, I could sleep forever.
But I'm not mad.
I want breakfast.
Umm... okay. She has a point and for some reason the name of her poem reminds me of a song I once listened to when my so called guardians hurt me. The song would help and give me a little hope someone would save me from the torment. Actually... is it a coincidence that the song is also her poem? Wait a minute... OH NO! THE SAYORI DOLL MIGHT BE AFTER ME! Thank heavens it's not the Chuky or Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street.
Anyways... the poem is really- WAIT A MINUTE!
Y/N: Sayori... This is just a guess, but... Did you wait until this morning to write this?
Sayori: No! J-Just a little bit!
Y/N: You can't answer just a little bit to a yes or no question...
Sayori: I forgot to do it last night...
I... can relate to that. I only forgot to do one thing before coming to the Club.
That was to bring a weapon, so I can fight back against anyone who tries to kidnap or harm the girls.
Y/N: Well, at least that makes me feel a little better about myself...
Sayori: 'Pouty' Don't be mean! I still tried my best...
Y/N: Ah, yeah... I didn't mean to say that it was a bad poem. It came out nice...or how should I put it... It sounds just like you.
Sayori: Really?
Y/N: Yeah? Especially that last line...
Sayori: I made eggs and toast!
Y/N: Even though you were late to school...?
Sayori: It's bad to skip breakfast! I get all cranky...
Can't argue with that. She's got a point though. Never skip breakfast since you'll be hungry and end up giving people an attitude. Happened to a few people and luckily I never get like that.
Y/N: Well, I guess there's no point in arguing... Anyway, thanks for showing me.
Sayori: Ehehe~ This was so much fun. Monika's the best!
Y/N: Ah...yeah.
Sayori: But next time, I won't forget. And Im gonna write the best poem ever!
Y/N: Well, I guess I look forward to it.
I started to walk away from Sayori, but not without patting her on the head and giving her hug.
I couldn't resist the temptation and it was very nice. Plus how can you not hug this bundle of sunshine?
I headed over to Natsuki and showed her my poem... though I hate how I'm so small and I think she's enjoying this.
She must enjoy being taller than me if I'm being honest.
Natsuki: ...
Y/N: ...
Natsuki: ...Well, it's about what I expected from someone like you.
Y/N: That's a little blunt...
Natsuki: Well, excuse me. It's not like I said it was bad. It just didn't evoke any emotions.
Y/N: So basically, it's not cute enough for your tastes?
Natsuki: Do you want to get smacked?
Y/N: I'll pass...
I really don't wanna know how much pain she can give people with a single punch. Since I've been hurt with a funk ton of other stuff as well. I rather not take a chance and get hurt anymore since I can still feel the pain in my bones. Hopefully they heal soon.
I know the MC would get hit due to them not being careful with their words.
I'm just wondering why she didn't hit them in the one area and then hit them in the guts finishing it off with a punch to the face while doing a cool anime pose and using a quote that would suit her?
It would be really cool if that happened.
Natsuki: 'Sighs' ... Well anyway, I guess I need to show you mine. Not that you'll like it.
Natsuki's Poem
Eagles Can Fly
Monkeys can climb
Crickets can leap
Horses can race
Owls can seek
Cheetans can run
Eagles can fly
People can try
But that's about it.
You know... I think this was meant to give a hidden message for people to read in code. If you want my opinion this really was difficult to understand. I was co fused how to go about the whole thing until she explained it.
Natsuki: Yeah... I told you that you weren't gonna like it.
Y/N: I like it.
Now that I've gotten the idea of what she was talking about it was a little more easier to understand what she went for and honestly... I think my hopes were based on this... even though I never heard of DDLC until someone mentioned it.
Natsuki: What? Just be honest!
Y/N: I am. Why are you so convinced that I wouldn't like it?
Natsuki: Well— Because! Everyone in high school thinks that writing has to be all sophisticated and stuff... So people don even take my witing seriously.
Y/N: But isnt the point of poems for people to express themselves? Your witing style wouldn't make your message any less valid.
Natsuki: Yes! Exactly! I like when it's easy to read, but it hits you hard. Like in this poem. Seeing everyone around you do great things can be really disheartening... So I decided to write about it.
Y/N: Yeah, I understand.
Natsuki: But the other nice thing about simple writing is that it puts more weight on the wordplay. Like I set up for a rhyme at the end, but then made it tall flat on purpose. It helps bring out the feeling in the last line.
Y/N: So you did... I guess more went into it than I realized.
Natsuki: That's what it means to be a pro! I'm glad you learned something. Didn't expect that from the youngest one here, did you?
Y/N: Yeah...guess not.
I decide to accept her answer with that last comment. I don't really care how old everyone is, but if Natsuki is feeling proud then I won't take that away from her. She made a really good point. That's to be expected from one of the four experts.
I might be a beginner or rookie in this case, but I'll eventually reach their level one day.
Who should I show my poem to next?
Wait... since only Yuri and Monika are left. I'll flip a coin and luckily I found a quarter in my pocket, so let's use that.
Head's Yuri. Tails Monika.
Y/N: 'Flips Coin' ... 'Catches the coin and reads it'
It's... Heads.
Author: {I actually did flip a coin to choose which one should go first. Plus it landed on heads, so fair game.}
I'll go to Yuri and then show Monika. Me and Monika still need to talk about something important before we end the day here.
Okay... if my memory is right Yuri does have some concerns about talking and explaining as well. I... can understand how she feels... at least a little. To understand someone you need to put yourself in their shoes and see things from their perspective. Yuri has a reason to see things differently and I respect that.
Yuri: ... Mm... ...
Yuri stares at the poem. A minute passes, more than enough time for her to finish reading.
Y/N: Um...
Yuri: Oh! S-Sorry...! I forgot to start speaking... U-Um!
Y/N: It's fine, don't force yourself.
Yuri: I'm not... I just need to put my thoughts into words. Hold on... ...Okay. This is your fist time writing a poem, right?
Y/N: Er, yeah... Why do you ask?
Yuri: I'm just making sure. I guessed that it might be after reading through it.
Y/N: Ah, so it's that bad.
Yuri: No!! ...Did I just raise my voice...? Uu, I'm so sorry...
Yuri buries her face in her hands. I couldnt help but notice that it's been several minutes and we really haven't gotten anywhere. It might take Yuri a while to get used to new people...
Plus... it's probably my fault for not trying to understand how or if she was comfortable for this thing. I didn't take their feelings into consideration for once. I need to apologize to her.
But... why is it both pretty and adorable.
Yuri: "Image Down Below"
I must resist the urge to pat her head, but at the same time I want to pat her on the head.
Y/N: It's fine, I really didn't notice. What were you saying?
Yuri: Right...um... It's just that there are specific writing habits that are usually typical of new writers. And having been through that myself, I kind of learned to pick up on them. I think the most noticeable thing I recognize in new writers is that they try to make their style very deliberate. In other words, they tend to pick a writing style separate from the topic matter, and they form fit the two together. The end result is that both the style and the expressiveness are weakened.
Once Yuri finds her train of thought, it's as if her demeanor totally changes. Her stammering is completely gone, and she sounds like an expert.
Yuri: Of course, that's not something you can be blamed for. There are so many different skills and techniques that go into writing even a simple poem. Not just finding them and building them, but getting them to work together is probably the most challenging part. It might take you some time, but it all comes with practice, and learning by example, and trying new things. I also hope that everyone else in the club gives you valuable feedback. Natsuki can be a little bit biased, though...
Y/N: Biased? How?
Yuri: U-Um... Well... Never mind... I shouldn't be talking about people like that... Sorry...
Y/N: It's fine.
I'm not sure if Yuri is apologizing to herself, to me, or to Natsuki.
Y/N: Do you mind if I read your poem now?
Yuri: Please do! Id love to share my thought process behind it...
Yuri smiles dreamily, as if that's a care opportunity for her. Which itself is kind of funny... ...After all, isn't this supposed to be a literature club?
Yuri's Poem
Ghost under the light
The tendrils of my hair illuminate beneath the amber glaw.
bathing
it must be this one.
The last remaining stretlight to have withstoad the test of time.
The last yet to be replaced by the sickening blue green hue of the future.
I bathe. Calms breathing air of the present but living in the past.
The light flickers.
I flicker back.
This feels familiar. Is it meant to represent that song I heard?
Yuri: ... I...I'm sorry I have such terrible handwriting!
Y/N: What?? I wasn't thinking that at all...
Yuri: But it took you a long time to read...
Y/N: Ah— Well, I just don't read script very often... I actually think your handwriting is pretty.
I really haven't read any script for a long time, so it would make sense, but I can't be so sure that this was a coincidence.
Yuri: Eh? Thats...a relief...
Y/N: Also, I liked the poem. Even though it's short, it was really descriptive.
Yuri: It wasn't too short? I usually write longer poems...
Y/N: Not at all.
Yuri: I'm...really glad you like it. I'll be honest... Since it's our first time sharing, I wanted to write something a little more mild. Something easy to digest, I suppose.
Y/N: Are you into ghosts, Yuri?
Yuri: Huhu. Actually, the story isn't about a ghost at all, Y/N.
Y/N: Really? I must have totally missed the point...
I've been trying to find the message behind a poem and I think this is one of them. That or she was messing with me.
I really hope she isn't messing with me cause I don't think it would do me any good, but... if it makes her happy... then I'll comply.
She has pretty hair though, so I can't really argue with that.
Yuri: Well, I suppose you did only glance over it, after all... But remember that poets often express their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences in their work. They usually do more than tell a simple story, or paint a picture. In this case, perhaps the subject of the poem is only being symbolically compared to a ghost. Lingering in her last remaining place of comfort, unable to let go of the past. And soon to be left with nothing...
Y/N: ...That's a lot more solemn. putting it that way. I hadn't even thought of that... That's impressive.
Yuri: It's nothing, really... Well...it makes me happy that you think that. Just remember that it wont be long before you pick up on these things, too.
Y/N: Yeah, maybe you're right. I guess I'll have to keep trying. I'm counting on you.
Monika might have been the last person I show the poem, but I think she'll like this. I headed over to where she was at and got her attention. The reason why I had to get her attention is because I was rather... silent. Yeah you can't hear my footsteps so I have to get a persons attention.
She did get scared by that, but I apologized since I'm always the quiet type. She did forget I'm not a talkative person, but I made up for it using my knowledge and skills for this Club to survive.
They are my saviors and gave me hope, because they saved me from not seeing the light of day again.
I will try my best to protect all of you.
Y/N: Hi Monika.
Monika: Hi, Y/N! Having a good time so far?
Y/N: Ah...yeah.
Monika: Good! Glad to hear it! By the way since you're new and everything... If you ever have any suggestions for the club, like new activities, or things we can do better... I'm always listening! With you actually being here in person might even make the club more fun. Plus 'Smiles' your finally free from the prison. 'Soft smile' Don't be afraid to bring things up things we can try, Okay?
Why... do I feel... calm...and...nervous?
Y/N: Alright...I'll keep that in mind.
Of course I'll be aftaid to bring things up. I'm much better off just going with the flow until I'm more settled in.
Monika: Anyway... Want to share your poem with me?
Y/N: It's kind of embarrassing, but I guess I have to.
Monika: Ahahaha! Don't worry, Y/N! We're all a little embarrassed today, you know? But it's that sort of barrier that we'll all learn to get past soon.
Y/N: Yeah, that's true.
I hand Monika my poem. I... am really nervous on the inside right now. This is the first poem that I've actually made and here I am showing it to the Club President of the Literature Club. I... could also use feedback from someone who is an expert in the field. Plus she is the leader for both the game and club.
Monika: ...Mhm! I like this one! It makes me think of something Sayori would like.
Y/N: Is that so?
Monika: You and Sayori are really good friends, right? I wouldn't be surprised if you had those sorts of things in common.
Y/N: Ah, well... We may be good friends, but Sayori and I are actually really different.
Monika: Hmm.... Well, that may be the case. But maybe there are also some similarities that you wouldnt expect. The way she talks about you... It sounds like the two of you really care about each other's well-being. Even if you show it in different ways, it ends up being more similar than you'd think...? So I think that's the kind of vibe I get when reading your poem.
Y/N: Hmm... You sure you're not reading into it too much?
Monika: Ahaha! I could be! Oh gosh, I sound like Yuri... ...But in any case, Sayori's writing has kind of a gentle feel to it. I can tell that she likes exploring with emotions, like happiness and sadness. Who knew that someone so happy would enjoy sad things, too?
Y/N: Yeah... That's totally unexpected.
Monika: Well, to each their own~ And you shouldn't be aftaid to experiment a little bit, either.
Y/N: I'm sure I'll end up trying different things a lot. It could take a while before I feel comfortable doing this.
Monika: That's okay! Id love to see you try new things. That's the best way to find the kind of style that suits you. Everyone else might be a ltle bit biased toward their own kinds of styles... But I'll always help you find what suits you the most! So don't force yourself to write the way everyone else wants you to write. It's not like you have to worry about impressing them or anything. Ahaha!
Y/N: Ahaha...
I am... so bad at this! I had confidence earlier to speak and here I am failing at life.
She's finding this funny for some reason. I swear the ones that caused my life to be horrible will pay dearly for murdering my Step Dad and Real Mother.
Monika: Anyway, do you want to read my poem now? Don't worry, I'm not very good...
Y/N: You sound pretty confident for someone who claims to not be very good.
Monika: Well that's cause I have to sound confident. That doesn't mean l always feel that way, you know?
Y/N: I see... Well, let's read it, then.
Monika's Poem
Hole in Wall
It could t have been me.
See, the direction the spackle protrudes.
A naisy neighbor? An angry boyfriend? Ill never know. I wasn't home.
I peer inside for a clue.
No! I can't see. I reel, blind, like a film left out in the sun.
But it's too late. My retinas.
Already scorched with a permanent copy of the meaningless image.
It's just a little hole. It wasn't too bright.
It was too deep.
Stretching forever into everything.
A hole of infinite choices.
I realize now, that I wasn't looking in.
I was looking out.
And he, on the other side, was looking in.
Monika: So...what do you think?
Y/N: Hmm...it's very...Freedom, if that's what you call it. Sorry, I'm not really the right person to ask for feedback...
Monika: Ahaha. It's okay. Yeah, that kind of style has gotten pretty popular nowadays. That is, a lot of poems have been putting emphasis on the timing between words and lines. When performed out loud, it can be really powerful.
Y/N: What was the inspiration behind this one?
Monika: Ah... Well, I'm not sure if I know how to put it... I guess you could say that I had some kind of epiphany recently. It's been influencing my poems a bit.
Y/N: An epiphany?
Monika: Yeah...something like that. I'm kind of nervous to talk about deep stuff like that, because it's kind of coming on strongly... Maybe after everyone is better ends with each other. Anyway...
Monika: Here's Monika's Writing Tip of the Day!
Monika: Sometimes when you're writing a poem or a story your brain gets too fixated on a specific point... If you try so hard to make it perfect, then you'll never make any progress. Just force yourself to get something down on the paper, and tidy it up later! Another way to think about it is this. If you keep your pen in the same spot for too long, you'll just get a big dark puddle of ink. So just move your hand, and go with the flow!
I feel like that was meant to hint something important, but... what?
Monika: ...That's my advice for today! Thanks for listening~
It's really helpful and I actually got stuck making the poem so many times, but the writing tip really helped me figure out what to do. I also used Sayori's idea of getting in touch with my emotions to make it feel more real or important.
Y/N: Phew...
I guess that's everyone. I glance around the room. That was a little more stressful than I anticipated. It's as if everyone is judging me for my mediocre writing abilities... Even if they're just being nice, there's no way my poems can stand up to theirs. This is a literature club, after all. I sigh. I guess that's what I ended up getting myself into. Across the room, Sayori and Monika are happily chatting. My eyes land on Yuri and Natsuki. They gingerly exchange sheets of paper, sharing their respective poems. As they read in tandem, I watch each of their expressions change. Natsuk's eyebrows furrow in frustration. Meanwhile, Yuri smiles sadly.
For some reason... it's a nice moment even if they can't admit it.
In a way... it's kinda cute.
I might not understand the relationship between all four of them, but... it almost feels like they could be sister... long lost sisters.
Maybe it could be something even more than friends.
I don't know what it could be, but... something just... feels right. I know it. Someday I'll understand what it could be and what it's called.
Natsuki: (What's with this language...?)
Yuri: Eh? Um...did you say something?
Natsuki: Oh, it's nothing.
Natsuki dismissively returns the poem to the desk with one hand.
Natsuki: I guess you could say it's fancy.
Yuri: Ah— Thanks... Yours is...cute...
Natsuki: Cute? Did you completely miss the symbolism or something? It's clearly about the feeling of giving up! How can that be cute?
Yuri: I-I know that! I just meant... The language, I guess... I was trying to say something nice...
Natsuki: Eh? You mean you have to try that hard to come up with something nice to say? Thanks, but it really didn't come out nice at all!
Yuri: Um... Well, I do have a couple suggestions...
Natsuki: Hmph. If I was looking for suggestions, I would have asked someone who actually liked it. Which people did, by the way. Sayori liked it. And Y/N did, too! So based on that, I'll gladly give you some suggestions of my own. First of all—
Yuri: Excuse me... I appreciate the offer, but I've spent a long time establishing my witing style. I don't expect it to change anytime soon, unless of course I come across something particularly inspiring. Which I haven yet.
Natsuki: Nn...!
Yuri: And Y/N liked my poem too, you know. He even told me he was impressed by it.
Natsult suddenly stands up.
Natsuki: Oh? I didn't realize you were so invested in trying to impress our new member, Yuri.
Yuri: E-Eh?! That's not what I... Uu... You... You're just...
Yuri stands up as well.
Yuri: Maybe you're just fealous that Y/N appreciates my advice more than he appreciated yours!
Natsuki: Huh? And how do you know he didn't appreciate my advice more? Are you that full of yourself?
Yuri: I...! No... If I was full of myself... ...I would deliberately go out of my way to make everything I do overly cutesy!
Natsuki: Uuuuuu...!
Sayori: U-Um!! Is everyone Okay...?
Natsuki: Well, you know what?! I wasn't the one whose boobs magically grew a size bigger as soon as Y/N started showing up!!
Yuri: N-Natsuki!!
Monika: Um, Natsuki, that's a little—
Natsuki and Yuri: This doesn't involve you!
Sayori: I-I don't like fighting, guys...!
Suddenly, both girls turn towards me, as if they just noticed I was standing there.
Yuri: Y/N...! She— She's just trying to make me look bad...!
Natsuki: That's not true! She started it! If she could get over herself and learn to appreciate that simple witing is more effective... Then this wouldn't have happened in the first place! What's the point in making your poems all convoluted for no reason? The meaning should jump out at the reader, not force them to have to figure it out. Help me explain that to her, Y/N!
Yuri: W-Wait! There's a reason we have so many deep and expressive words in our language! It's the only way to convey complex feelings and meaning the most effectively! Avoiding them is not only unnecessarily limiting yourself...it's also a waste! You understand that right, Y/N?
Y/N: Um...!
Natsuki and Yuri: Well??
Y/N: ...
I... don't... get why they need my opinion or answer for this problem. Actually... why are they doing this?
Y/N: "GIF Down Below" 'Scared'
Monika's Mind: " >///< AHHHHHHHH THE CUTENESS IS KILLING ME!"
Sayori's Mind: "O///O I think my heart just nearly stopped beating."
How did I get dragged into this in the first place?! It's not like I know anything about writing. But whomever I agree with, they'll probably think more highly of me! So, of course that's going to be...!
What do I do!? What do I do!?
Umm.... Wait a minute!
Y/N: N-Natsuki...
Natsuki glares at me, drying up any words I had in my mouth. So instead, I turn to Yuri.
Y/N: Yuri...
But Yuri's expression is so defenseless that I can't bring myself to say anything to her.
Y/N: ... ...Sayori!
Sayori: Eh?!
Y/N: ...Yeah! Everyone's fighting is making Sayori uncomfortable. How can the two of you keep fighting when you know you're making your friend feel like this?
Sayori: Y/N...
Natsuki: Well... That's her problem! This isn't about her.
Yuri: I-I agree... It's unfair for others to interject their own feelings into our conflict.
Natsuki: Yeah, unless Sayori wants to tell Yuri what a stuck-up jerk she's being.
Yuri: She would never...! It's your immaturity that's made her upset in the first place!
Natsuki: Excuse me? Are you listening to yourself? This is exactly why... Exactly why nobody likes—
Sayori: Stop!!
Natsuki and Yuri: ...
Sayori: Natsuki! Yuri! You guys are my friends! I-I just want everyone to get along and be happy! My friends are wonderful people... And I love them because of their differences! Natsuki's poems... They're amazing because they give you so many feelings with just a few words! And Yuri's poems are amazing because they paint beautiful pictures in your head! Everyone's so talented... ...So why are we fighting...?
Natsuki: Be-Because...
Yuri: Well.
Sayori: Also! Natsuki's cute and there's nothing wrong with that! 'Covers Y/N's ears' And Yuri's boobs are the same as they always were! Big and beautiful! 'Uncovers Y/N's ears'
Natsuki: ...
Yuri: ...
Y/N: "GIF Down Below" 'Confused' Sayori...
Monika's Mind: ">///< J-Just resist as much as possible until you get home. Then you can pass out from this."
Sayori stands triumphantly. Monika stands behind her with a bewildered expression.
Yuri: I'll...make some tea...
Yuri rushes off. Natsuki sits down with a blank expression on her face, staring at nothing.
Y/N: So, this is why Sayori is Vice President...
I whisper to Monika. She nods in return.
Monika: To be honest... I might come off as a good leader, and I can organize things... But I'm not very good with people... I couldnt even bring myself to interject. As President, that's kind of embarrassing of me. Ahaha...
Y/N: Nah... It's not like I can blame you. I wasn't able to say anything, either.
That was really terrifying to actually see in person. Also I'm pretty sure Natsuki was being serious about that question. I wouldn't be able to answer if there too many asked.
I usually try and answer a question that isn't... personal since everyone has a writing they would enjoy.
Monika: Well... I guess that just means Sayori is amazing in her own ways, isn't she?
Y/N: You could say that. She might be an at head, but sometimes it's weirdly suspicious that she knows exactly what she's doing.
Monika: I see~ Take good care of her, okay? I would hate to see her get herself hurt.
Y/N: That makes two of us... You can count on me.
I will not let the cinnamon roll get hurt... even though something could be causing it.
Monika smiles sweetly at me, causing my stomach to knot. Such a genuine person really does make a good President, regardless of what she says. If only I could get the chance to talk to her a little more...
Monika: Okay, everyone! It's just about time for us to leave. How did you all feel about sharing poems?
Sayori: It was a lot of fun!
Yuri: Well, Id say it was worth it.
Natsuki: It was alright. Well, mostly.
Monika: Y/N, how about you?
Y/N: ...Yeah, Id say the same. It was a neat thing to talk about with everyone.
Monika: Awesome! In that case, we'll do the same thing tomorrow. And maybe you learned something ftom your friends, too. So your poems will turn out even better!
Y/N: ...
I think to myself. I did learn a little more about the kinds of poems everyone likes. With any luck, that means I can at least do a better job impressing those I want to impress. I nod to myself with newfound determination.
Sayori: Y/N! Ready to walk home?
Y/N: Sure, let's go.
Sayori: Ehehe~
Sayori beams at me. It truly has been a while since I've ever done something like this. I can't really say I'm not enjoying it either, but I like it.
I'm gonna make us something to eat. Don't judge me I've known my way in the kitchen very well and I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm not gonna set the place on fire.
Y/N: Sayori... About what happened earlier...
Sayori: Eh? What do you mean?
Y/N: You know, between Yuri and Natsuki. Does that kind of thing happen often?
Sayori: No, no, no! That's really the first time I've seen them fight like that... I promise they're both wonderful people. You don't... You don't hate them, do you??
The fighting actually scared me because I thought they were gonna throws hands like in the boxing matches I've seen on TV once.
Actually... that would be pretty cool to say.
Y/N: No, I don't hate them! I just wanted your opinion, that's all. I can see why they'd make good friends with you.
Sayori: Phew... You know, Y/N... It's nice that I get to spend time with you in the club. But I think seeing you get along with everyone is what makes me the happiest. And I think everyone really likes you, too!
Y/N: That's—!
Sayori: Ehehe~ Every day is going to be so much fun~
Y/N: 'Sighs' ...
It looks like Sayori still hasn't caught onto the kind of situation I'm in. Sure, being friends with everyone is nice, but... ...Does it really need to stop there?
Y/N: We'll just have to see what the future holds, Sayori.
I pat Sayori on the shoulder. I said that more to myself than to her, but it's easy to use Sayori as an internal monologue sometimes. Yeah. Let's do this!
Location - Sayori's House
Time - Night
I've already made dinner for us and since I finished early I let Sayori continue with her plate, so I could go and work on my poem for tomorrow since I needed something new.
Y/N: Hmmm... I made a poem about Epiphany. I need to make something different. It should be about something the other three like as well. The first one is for Monika since she likes to read about Freedom and reality.
What would the girls like?
I would repeated my routine from time to time, but since all four of the girls are taking turns watching me just so I can be safe from harm... it would be for the best that I try and help as well.
Poems...
Poems...
Poems...
Poems...
I GOT IT!
This one is... I think for Sayori... Yeah! Sayori will love this one.
Y/N: 'Starts writing down the poem while humming a song to himself'
After I got done writing the Poem, Sayori came into the room and she seems... happy?
Y/N: 'Confused' Why are you, so... happy?
I was really confused as to why she was happy. Wouldn't she be... concerned or feel... scared about something? Cause I don't wanna see that happening to her.
Sayori: Well... we are taking turns watching after you until Monika figures out the coding with that house we can use to stay at, so... I guess you can say we're gonna be in a nice and new house soon. Plus it'll be closer to the school.
Y/N: That... actually makes a lot of sense. Also... why are you approaching me like that?
I was confused as to why Sayori was getting really close to me and the way she approached was with her arms out like a hug... I... I think. From there I felt myself getting picked up and... I can't see anything.
I feel... comfortable for some reason. Not sure what she was doing to me, but... I don't feel any evil or dark intentions coming from her.
Just... can't see or speak correctly.
Wait... speak?
Oh...no.....
Y/N: 'Muffled' Sayori?
Sayori: 'Walking ti the bed while carrying Y/N in her arms' Yeah?
Y/N: 'Muffled' What are you doing?
Sayori: Well we're gonna be sharing my bed since I don't have a guest room in my house. Also... I heard that you never really... understand what it's like sleeping with... another person... and I.... Just thought...
Y/N: 'Muffled' Where exactly am I? Cause I'm having a little trouble speaking correctly.
Sayori: Oh that's simple I have your head on the upper part of my body.
Y/N: 'Muffled' I don't get what that means.
I don't even understand what she meant by that at all.
Just... wish I could breath correctly cause I feel my oxygen was cut off to an extent.
Sayori: Let's just go to bed.
Y/N: 'Muffled' F-Fine....mmmmmm....
I could only whimper in embarrassment since I don't have the strength to do anything at this point.
My heart just... hurts when I try to do it. I don't know why it hurts, but... it just does.
I just decided to let Sayori have her way since I can't do anything.
Not sure why, but... I just...feel...safe here.
I'm....getting....tired.....for......some....reason...
Y/N: 'Muffled' Mmm....mmmm....mmm...zzz..mmmm...💤
I'm too tired to stay awake anymore.
I just...wanna....sleep.
Tomorrow is another day.
End of Chapter 3
Author: {Okay I know this took way too long to update, but I was trying to figure out how things should go and what would be interesting. Just to clarify some stuff we will be doing things with the normal Doki Girls and using those FNF Mods. The other mods will happen and yes he will meet the Doki.EXE's just now right now. Overall I think this will be a great story since Y/N will be the one to also make sure they survive and all the ones I mention for Y/N will make sure he survives. Thats all I can say have a nice day.}
