Chapter 2 - Huggy Wuggy

Gabriel couldn't find his tongue, he was speechless. Cautiously approaching the display, he stared up at the giant toy. Huggy Wuggy, arguably the best toy Playtime Co. ever made. It certainly was one of the most profitable ones. These toys were huge in the eighties. Nowadays, they are highly valuable collector's items.

Gazing up at the giant Huggy Wuggy, Gabriel gulped nervously. He had an eerie feeling, like something wasn't right. Why did he feel like he was being watched? He was the only one here... right? Sweat rolled down his face as he looked around nervously. He had to be the only one here, this place was abandoned.

Something jangled behind him.

Whirling around, Gabriel expected to see a person. But nope, it was still Huggy. This time though, the toy had a key stuck to the hand raised in the air in a sort of friendly wave. His eyes flicking back and forth between the key and the toy, Gabriel muttered, "Okay... not freaky at all." He pondered for a spell over how he was going to get the key when he realized he had a Grabpack in his possession. Aiming carefully, he fired the blue left hand. It easily grabbed the key and brought it back.

"Easy as pie," Gabriel declared, taking the key from the blue hand. Looking up at Huggy Wuggy, he bit his lip and murmured, "You're... you're not gonna just... magically come to life... are you?" Hesitating for a moment, he used the Grabpack hand to smack the giant toy in the face. Nothing happened. Blinking his eyes, Gabriel stared at Huggy a little longer before walking away. "Bye Huggy!" he called over his shoulder, blissfully unaware the toy had turned its head to watch him.

Approaching one of the surrounding doors, Gabriel used the key. The door opened. "Heh, first try," Gabriel snickered. Entering the room, he squinted. It was dark, hard to see even with the built-in flashlight on his phone. He was able to spy a generator in the corner with two electrical nodes. Perhaps it needed a jumper cable to be activated. If so, the middle aged man knew he didn't have any with him.

Scratching his chin thoughtfully, Gabriel stole a glance at the blue left hand. It couldn't be that simple, could it? Shooting the hand at the power source, he wrapped the wire around the nodes and got it to touch the generator. With that, the lights flickered on. The factory had power once more. Feeling quite proud of himself, Gabriel turned around to leave the room when he stopped in his tracks. He had a full view of the lobby from where he was and there was something different about it. What exactly? Well...

...Huggy Wuggy was gone.
