Chapter 12 - The Game Station
The room was massive. The area Gabriel had entered was surrounded with playground equipment. Slides and swings galore and a merry go round too. Beyond that was an area with three areas with labels. One just so happened to be labeled Musical Memory. Perhaps these were entrances to the games? Past these was a train. Above the train was a sign that said Game Station.
So, this was the Game Station.
Walking past the playground section of the Game Station, Gabriel felt uneasy. There was something about this place that creeped him out. It was designed for children but he had the sense that it was only a facade. If only the walls could talk. They would have so many stories and secrets to tell. Heading straight for the entrance to Musical Memory, the middle aged man attempted to pull the floor cover aside. No luck, it was locked.
"Great Mommy, real great. How am I supposed to get in here?" Gabriel grumbled under his breath. Putting his hands on his hips, he glared at the entrance for a few seconds before glancing over his shoulder at the train. Down the steps that led up to the locomotive was a control panel. Perhaps he needed to go up there. It was worth a shot. Trudging up the stairs, Gabriel looked at the train longingly before turning his sights to the control panel. There were three levers that needed to be pulled. The one on the left had a blinking light next to it. Grabbing the lever, he pulled it down.
The entrance to Musical Memory slid open, revealing a set of stairs leading down.
"I can't believe I'm doing this. I should have stayed home," Gabriel muttered. Leaving the control panel, he approached the entrance to Musical Memory warily. He didn't like this, not one little bit. But if the middle aged man wanted to go back home to his farm, he needed to leave on the train. And that needed the code. In order to get the code, he needed to win these three games. Simple, hopefully. Mustering his courage, he descended down the stairs.
