"Thank you, please come again," you say as you watch the customers leave Granny's Diner where you had been working since you came to Storybrooke. You weren't from the enchanted kingdom or anywhere like that you were a normal girl from Brooklyn. Normal minus the fact you were the missing daughter of a mob boss, you didn't like the fact that your father wanted you to take over as the head of your family and continue the 'Family Business' as he called it. When you left Brooklyn you had no idea where you were headed but when you came upon this magical town of Storybrooke.

At first you were surprised that you had ended up where all the fairy tales were but you soon found that you felt more at home here in this little unknown town then you ever did back with your family. "Granny, I'm going to go pick up Henry." You call out as you walk back behind the counter and taking your apron off fold it and place it under the register. "Okay, thank you for taking Ruby's shift today." She says as she goes over her books. You smile as you gently hug her and then turning grab your purse and coat quickly make your way to the school. As you walk to the school you remember when you had first come to Storybrooke.

Flashback

"Please Sherriff don't call my family, I'm hiding from them. If I go home they're gonna make me take my father's job and I can't do that!" 

The tall man sighs as he says, "I'm sorry Ms. _________, but since you are underage I have no choice but to notify them about your whereabouts." 

You throw yourself onto the floor and kneeling in front of him say, "Please I beg you don't make me go home!" Tears fill your eyes as you stare up into Sheriff Graham's. 

"What's going on here?" You hear a woman's voice ask and you turn to see a woman with dark raven hair and chocolate colored eyes. "Who's this?" She asks looking you up and down making you feel self-conscious.

"Sorry Mayor Mills, this is Ms.________, she ran away from home and is refusing to go back. I was just about to call her parents to come get her." 

"No please I beg of you don't make me go back!" You beg as tears fall from your eyes. 

"Have you considered how your parents must feel about you running away?" She asks you and you look down at your feet while you say, "They don't care about me they just want someone to take over my father's job." Mayor Mills raises an eyebrow as she says, "Sheriff could you give us a moment?" He nods and then walks out the door leaving you and her alone.

"Now explain why you don't want to go back to your family and perhaps I can help." You sigh as you explain your father being the leader of the mob and him wanting you to get married and take his spot as Mob boss. "Well it seems you are in a predicament. How about this, I will take you in and raise you as my own giving you a home and a new life in return I want you to help me with my son Henry; being Mayor keeps me busy and I need someone to be there for Henry when I cannot. Do we have a deal?" She asks as she folds her arms over her chest. 

"Why are you helping me?" You ask as you try to stop crying. 

"Because, I know how you feel and I only wish someone would have done this for me. Now do we have a deal or not?" 

You smile as you stand and say, "Deal, thank you so much. I could never repay you." Regina smirks as she says, "Wait here I'll take care of the Sheriff." You smile as you wait patiently for her to come back.

"Now when we get to home I will introduce you to Henry then take you to your room." Regina says as we drive to her house. 

"Thank you again Ms. Mills," You say as you fumble with the zipper on your coat. 

"You're welcome, now I don't want to tell Henry about your past; we will just say that your parents died and I adopted you." You nod as a slight smile crosses your face. "Why are you smiling?" She asks as she peers at you causing you to sigh as you say, "Because I'm happy," 

"Why are you happy?" 

"Because I'll finally have a family that I can feel comfortable in, and I always wanted a little brother." Regina remains quiet but you glance over to see a slight smile cross her face. Your eyes widen when she pulls up to a beautiful two story house.

"This is your house?" You say as you marvel in its beauty. 

"Yes, now let's hurry I have to relieve the babysitter." You nod as you grab your backpack and climbing out of the car follow closely behind her. You run a hand through your (H/L) (H/C) as you follow her inside where a little old woman stood greeting Regina home. The older woman's eyes fix on you as you follow Regina inside. "Hey mom!" A young boy with short dark brown hair and hazel eyes says as he runs down the stairs toward Regina. Regina leans down and wrapping her arms around him says, "Hi Henry, there is someone I want you to meet." She says her demeanor softening as she talks to her son.

"Henry this is ________, she's going to be living with us from now on. ________, this is Henry." You smile as you hold your hand out to him and say, "Hello Henry," 

He smiles and taking my hand says, "Nice to meet you ______,"

 Regina smiles as she says, "Well why don't you two get acquainted why I send Johanna home." 

As she walks away you smile as Henry says, "So, you're going to stay here with us?"

 You nod as you tighten your grip on your backpack as you say, "Looks that way,"

 Henry nods as he asks, "So does this mean we're brother and sister now?" 

"Only if you want to be my brother, cause I'd really like to be your sister." 

He smiles softly as he says, "I think it'd be cool to have a sister."

End Flashback

That had been nearly five years ago now you had graduated High school and were working at Granny's to help pay back Regina for this kindness she had showed you. Since you had first come to Storybrooke you had discovered that the town was in fact filled with fairy tales characters and that Regina herself was the Evil Queen. You even found out that Henry wasn't her real son but a woman named Emma's. You smile as you remember Henry having you cover for him when he ran off to Boston to convince her to come to Storybrooke to break the curse on the town. When you reach the school you smile as Henry runs out to meet you.

You wrap your arms around him as you say, "Hey little brother, mom sent me to pick you up." 

Henry sighs as he says, "What do you think she would say if I said I wanted to spend the night with Emma?"

 I sigh as we turn and start walking down the road, "I think if you ask nicely she'd say yes and if not I'll help convince her." 

Henry smile as he takes your hand and says, "Thanks sis you're the best." You smile as the two of you quickly make your way to city hall where Regina was sitting behind her desk hard at work. 

"Hey mom!" You and Henry say in unison as you walk into her office.

 "Hello, how was school?" Henry sighs as he quickly tells her about his day. "What about you ______, how was work?" 

You smile as you say, "The usual, busy; and at times rather annoying." 

She smiles as she says, "I was thinking how about we all go to Granny's for dinner and then go home for movies and pie?"

Henry looks at you and you gently nudge him as you say, "Actually mom, Henry has something he'd like to ask you." 

Regina raises an eyebrow as her smile fades and she says, "Oh and what would you like to ask me?"

 Henry sighs as he says, "Can I stay the night with Emma?" Regina's face hardens as she thinks of what to say. She looks up at you and you smile as you nod. 

"Fine, just don't stay up too late and I want you call me when you get there, and I want you home first thing in the morning okay?" 

Henry smiles as he runs over and quickly hugs her as he says, "Thank you mom!" Regina smiles as she hugs him back and says, "You're welcome, ________ will you take him?" You nod as you rock back and forth on the balls of your feet.

You quickly wave goodbye before you and Henry make your way over to Emma and Mary Margaret's apartment. "Hey kiddo what's up?" Emma asks when she opens the door. 

"Mom said he could stay the night; just don't forget to have him call her real quick to let her know he made it." 

Emma nods as she says, "Thanks for bringing him ________," You smile as you wave goodbye to Henry as you say, "No problem, see you guys later. Tell Mary Margaret I said hi." She smiles as she nods and then closes the door. You sigh as you pull out your phone and quickly call Regina,

Regina – Did you drop him off?

You – Yeah, and I reminded him to call you.

Regina – Thanks _______

You – No problem, hey I'm gonna run to the store to pick up some popcorn for tonight you want anything?

Regina – No thank you, and please no more Disney movies I don't think I could stand to sit through another happy ending.

You – *Laughs* How about we watch The Devil Wears Prada and make it a girls night.

Regina – Okay just don't forget the extra butter for the popcorn.

You – Okay mom, see you at home.

You hear her hang up the phone and you smile as you make your way to the grocery store. After you buy the popcorn you walk outside where you bump into a man dressed as a pirate with a hook for and hand. "Oh I'm so sorry." You say as you step back and looking up into his eyes feel your heart clench. 

"No apologies necessary love, if you'll excuse me." He says as he motions past you. You nod as you walk past him and taking a quick glance back see him staring after you. You smile as you quickly make your way home were Regina was waiting patiently.
