Chapter 11 - Trickster

Reader's POV

"Honestly I leave for one minute-" She stops mid sentence and with a wave of her hand sends Jefferson flying backwards. As he hits the wall a loud crack resonates off the walls making your heart drop. "I do not have time for this."

"Jefferson!" You yell out your eyes staring widely at his unmoving form. Tears threaten your eyes as you turn back to Gothel and say, "Let me help him."

"Um... NO." She says her eyes focusing on her spell book in front of her.

"Please, I'll let you do whatever you want; I'll do whatever you want me too, just let me help him!" You cry out as you try to move toward him.

"Whatever I want?" She asks an evil smirk covering her lips. Nodding you clench your jaw not sure what she was planning but you knew you wouldn't like it. Jumping up and down her smirk turns into a full fledge smile. "How marvelous," She says stretching her arms over her head like she was reaching for the stars. A foreboding feeling engulfs you making your body shake with worry. "I have a wonderful idea, but I need some of your blood. So come here."

"My... my blood?" You ask fear now replacing the worry.

"(Name) don't you dare do anything for this old hag." Regina says making your heart clench.

"But I have to save Jefferson,"

"I know how you're feeling but once you give her what she wants she's just going to kill you anyway."

"That's fine," You say making Regina's eyes widen in shock. "I love you mom, tell Henry I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise." Waving your hand your make all of them including Jefferson disappear from the room sending them somewhere safe. Jefferson was alive still, you could feel it when your magic touched him, but you didn't know how serious his wound was. You knew that Emma would help him. That was her job as the savior anyway. Closing your eyes you take a deep breath and releasing all your troubles open your eyes and glance at an overly ecstatic Gothel.

"Now my child, shall we continue?"

"Yes ma'am," You reply smiling inwardly as you look over at the Dragon's egg.

Regina's POV

"That stupid girl!!" Regina yells out angrily as she stomps back and forth in front of the fire pit. "Where did I go wrong in raising her? Huh?"

"There was nothing we could've done Regina," Emma says as she waves her hands over Jefferson's unconscious body healing his wounds. Thankfully he had only managed to crack a few ribs and surprisingly his skull. All of which healed beautifully with the help of Emma's light magic.

"So about her plan-" Robin starts to say but is instantly cut off by Regina saying, "What plan? We needed to be inside for the plan to work."

"Not that plan, the one she placed in my head when she sent us away."

"What? She didn't make a new plan." Regina replies narrowing her eyes at the archer.

"Sure she did," Hook says as he pulls his satchel around to reveal a shimmery blue Dragon's egg. "Now all you gotta do is hatch the thing and this is all over."

"That's Elliot's egg?!" Emma asks her eyes filled with surprise.

"Of course, (name) was the daughter of a mobster anyway; if she wanted to trick someone she could." Regina says expectantly as everything suddenly comes together.

"Her mother is the Evil Queen as well," They hear Jefferson groan out as forces himself to sit up.

"Ex-Evil Queen." Regina states making Emma roll her eyes.

"Okay so how do you even hatch a dragon egg? I doubt you sit on it like a regular egg." Emma says folding her arms over her chest.

"Uh yeah you probably wouldn't want to do that. That thing is fragile as hell and if you barely crack it then bye bye baby." Jefferson says eyeing Hook who was now holding the satchel very cautiously. "Probably not a good idea to leave it in the hands of our friendly pirate then."

"You have something to say mate?"

"No, well not exactly; you just don't look like the most gentle handed sort of person."

"Looks can be deceiving mate."

"Alright you two knock it off!" Emma says starting to get annoyed. "Regina how do we do this?"

"Alright hand me the egg." Regina says holding her hands out while Hook gently placed the fragile blue egg in her grasp. Taking a deep breath she looks up from the egg to Emma and says, "Place your hands on the egg and close your eyes. Emma nods slowly as she gingerly places her hands atop the fragile shell. "Now relax, let all your emotions go, find a happy memory and use that as a conduit." Emma nods as she closes her eyes and starts to think of something. Suddenly her hands start to glow her magic surrounding the egg making it glow warmly. "Good keep it up." Regina lets her mind fill with happy thoughts of Henry and (Name) and all the time they had spent together.

As Regina's magic mixes with Emma's the egg starts to slowly float in the air as the color of the ocean starts to emanate from within the egg. Suddenly gentle infantile cries fill the egg as it slowly starts to hatch. As a little hand emerges from within the egg a smile crosses everyone's lips. Suddenly the egg explodes making the shell shoot off into different directions leaving a small child with dark hair and emerald eyes lying in the grass staring up into the sky with a smile on its face. Looking closely they could see that it was a beautiful baby girl.

Regina quickly conjures up an onesie and a baby blanket as she reaches down an lifts the small bundle of joy into her arms. When the baby glances at her is smiles and reaches for her face. "Aren't you adorable? Yes you are!" Regina coos to the baby making Emma bite her lips to keep from laughing. Then before anyone could say anything a loud screech of anger reverberates off the trees around them.

"Seems like Gothel knows." Emma says and Regina clenches tightly to the baby.

"We have to hide the baby, and somehow save (Name)."

"I believe that's where I come in." Robin says a smile covering his lips.

Reader's POV

"YOU WORTHLESS LITTLE SWINE!" Gothel screeches as she realizes that the egg she has is in fact a fake. Turing her cold eyes toward you she clenches your heart in her grasp making you gasp for air. "You thought you could fool me?"

"Um Yeah, I just did." You say a cocky smile covering your lips. "You are so stupid!" You chuckle breathlessly as you force yourself to your feet.

"I have waited years for this moment and now it's ruined because of you!" She screeches her eyes turning dark.

"My bad," You say shrugging your shoulders. "Now if you don't mind," You quickly wave your hand making your heart disappear from her grip and appear in your own. "I've been without this for far too long." Shoving it back into your chest you smile as tears slowly fall down your cheeks.

"I'm going to destroy you!" Gothel growls and you cock an eyebrow.

"Bring it on Harpy," You say as you place a hand on your hip and motion for her to come at you.

Regina's POV

"Are you sure this is what she had planned?" Emma asks as they round a corner leading to the dungeons where (Name) had told Robin where the other 'Collectibles' were. They had left Jefferson with the baby dragon since he didn't exactly have magic and was more equipped at taking care of a baby at the moment then the rest of them.

"Yes, (Name) said we had to remove Gothel's brands before they could be set free."

"No problem there." Regina says rolling her shoulders. "Since Gothel had been waiting years for tonight and we took the one thing she needed, her power is extremely fragile. Taking her out should prove rather easy."

"Let's hope you're right." Emma says as they walk to the first cell. Looking in Emma's eyes widen as she comes face to face with onyx pools. "What the hell?" Emma says as the creature stares deep into her eyes it's gaze unwavering. The cell was too dark to make out what exactly was inside but whatever it was it gave Regina a bad feeling.

"Emma, do not make any sudden movements." Regina says as she slowly lifts her hand up to put the creature to sleep.

"Don't touch me!" The creature cries out in fear as it shrinks away from them.

"What? We're not gonna hurt you!" Emma says trying to sound reassuring.

"That's what the witch told me before she branded me and locked me in here!" His voice roared followed by the scraping of shackles.

"Yeah well we aren't her. We're here to get you and everything else in here out." At the mentioning of being freed the creature slowly starts to morph into a tall man with long silver hair and nine matching tails. Regina stared at him for a moment in shock at his muscular toned body. NO matter how she saw it he was hot.

"Why would you free me?" he asks folding his arms over chest.

"Because nobody deserves to be kept as a collectible, everyone deserves freedom." Emma says making the man turn his onyx eyes back toward her his expression showing that he was pondering her words.

"Even if you could free me, I am branded by the witch; I cannot leave or go against her wishes."

"That's why I'm going to remove your brand." Regina says as she slowly moves toward him making him jump in surprise. "Calm down fluffy I'm not gonna hurt you."

"Fluffy?" He says cocking an eyebrow.

"Yeah, now if you don't mind me asking, what are you?" Regina asks as she lifts her hand up toward the brand on his bare chest.

"I am a Kasai Kitsune, My name is Shingo." He replies softly as his eyes focus on Regina's hands.

"What's that?" Emma asks raising an eyebrow.

"He's a fire nine tail fox, am I right?" Regina asks without moving her eyes from the now glowing brand.

"You are," He says nodding slightly. As the brand slowly vanishes Regina glances up and looking into his dark eyes suddenly becomes aware of how tall he really is. "I am grateful for your help, if you don't mind I wish to remain by your side and somehow repay the kindness you have shown me."

"You don't have to do that. You're a free man now. Isn't there somewhere you want to go?" Regina asks folding her arms over her chest.

"No, it's tradition for us to pay back the kindness show to us." He says firmly his brow furrowing. Regina sighs as she realizes no matter what she said he would still insist on helping somehow.

"Alright fine, do what you want."

"Thank you?"

"Regina."

"Regina, thank you. All of you thank you." He says before slowly turning into a fox to follow after them.

The five of them, Robin, Regina, Emma, Hook, and Shingo; continue making their way through the dungeons to each cell as they quickly remove each brand and set free creatures ranging from Unicorns and griffins to woodland elves and sprites. As they moved to the last cell Regina found herself frozen in her footsteps as a tall, dark, mysterious man stood in the corner staring out the window of his cell. "I knew you were coming," He says as he slowly turns to look at the small group of rescuers.

"You? You're..."

"Hello Regina, it's been a while." He says a small smirk filling his lips. "How's my daughter?"
