Not All Men(Killian Jones/Captain Hook x reader)
To say you were nervous was an understatement. You were pacing in the Captain's cabin aboard the Jolly Roger waiting for Killian to return. You weren't sure how he was going to take this news and you really didn't want to tell him in case he was angry. You'd had enough experience with men to know that you never wanted to anger them. While it was true that Killian was not your father, there was no doubt in your mind that he would react the same way. You'd lost his compass, the one his brother had given him.
"Hello, luv," Killian's smooth voice came from behind you, making you jump. You turned to face him, knowing he could see the fear on your face. "Y/N, luv? What is it?" he asked. You bit your lip, wondering if you could get away with not telling him. You looked into his blue eyes and realized that you just couldn't lie to the man. You let out a sob before telling him everything. When you finished, you took a shaky breath and waited for the yelling to start. That was all you knew after all. It was the way your father handled everything. He screamed and yelled even at the little things. So, here you were now, eyes closed just waiting for the shouting.
It never came. After a moment of complete and utter silence, you cracked your eyes open to find Killian looking at you, an amused smirk on his lips. "Aren't you angry?" you asked carefully. "Oh, of course but not at you. It was an accident," he said with a shrug. He saw the look of confusion on your face and asked, "Why do you look so frightened, luv?" You jumped a bit at the question but quickly explained why you were so jumpy and nervous.
You told him everything about your relationship with your father, how poor it was. How your father would blame you for things that weren't your fault and how he would yell and scream when things went wrong. "I'm not your father, luv," was all Killian said in reply. You gave a small nod and said, "I know you aren't, but I grew up thinking that men were all the same." You gave him an apologetic smile. "Not all men are like that, Y/N." Killian gave your hand a pat with his right hand. "Now, come on. Let's go find my compass." You got up and followed him out. Killian was everything your father wasn't. He was truly a one of a kind man. A pirate villain struggling to be a hero in a world where villains didn't usually get happy endings. You realized that Killian was right. Not all men were the same. 3
