After the Cricket Game (Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket x reader)
(Takes place after episode 2.10)
You would think a psychiatrist would know how to handle the mental repercussions that come with being kidnapped, but poor Archie had no clue how to deal. That's where you came in. You had been friends with Archie for a while now and you had never seen him as lost as he was at that moment. He spent most of his days buried in work, taking on everyone else's problems and ignoring his own. After weeks of watching him, you'd had enough.
"Alright, Doc. Grab your scarf and your lucky umbrella and let's go," you ordered. Archie looked up from the papers lined up on his desk in surprise. "Go? Where are we going?" he asked you, his voice missing its usual chirp. "You've been sitting around this office for weeks. You don't even stroll with Pongo through the woods anymore!" Upon hearing his name, said Dalmatian picked his head up. You gestured to the dog.
Archie gave you a small smile but shook his head. "I just don't know how to handle this. I can help other people with their problems, but I can't figure out how to keep the images of Regina choking me and being kidnapped from my head. Now I know it wasn't Regina at all and still when I see her, part of me still lives in fear. How do I deal with that?!" You were surprised that Archie was yelling. The man hardly ever raised his voice.
"You come out of this office and you live your life, Archie. You talk to someone. Me or Marco or Mary Margaret! Don't hide away in here reading file after file. Now,come on! Marco's waiting for us at Granny's!" Archie's smile grew wider as he realized you were right. He stood and hugged you. "Thank you, Y/N. I guess I needed a little push." You hugged him back and chuckled."Anytime. Now, let's go!" Archie grabbed his scarf, umbrella and Pongo's leash. A few minutes later, when he was sitting at a table outside of Granny's with you and Marco, Archie laughed a real laugh for the first time in weeks. You had been right. There was no way he was ever going to overcome what had happened to him if he kept himself locked away from those who cared about him. He decided then and there to follow his own advice and talk it out.
