A Deal in Underbrooke (Hades x reader)

Hades arched a brow, waiting for your answer. You never would have expected this. Granted, you never expected to die in a fight with magic either. You were skilled in the art of magic, trained by the Sorcerer's Apprentice himself, but apparently that wasn't good enough. Not enough to beat Regina.

So, here you were, in the Underworld with Hades. You thought it was pretty ironic that the Underworld looked like Storybrooke. And, to your surprise, Hades had come to you, not the other way around. You'd been told by the "residents" of Underbrooke that Hades didn't really take an interest in anyone unless he had a very good reason. You were pretty certain that he didn't want the others figuring out their unfinished business.

"What do you want?" you snapped when Hades appeared. He simply smiled. "You see, it's guts like that that caught my interest," he told you, talking with his hands. "Then I should keep you interested for a good long while. Now, you obviously want something, so get to it. Places to be, you know." Hades frowned a little. "You don't want to spend time with me? That hurts, Y/N." You rolled your eyes at his dramatics.

"Cut the crap, would you?" Sure, you were being unnecessarily hostile, but you weren't exactly happy to be there. No one wanted to be dead and those that were already dead didn't want to be in the Underworld. You knew that you didn't want to be there any longer than necessary. It was time to figure out your unfinished business so you could move on.

"Such hostility, Y/N. Such rage. I like that." You scowled at him. "What the hell do you want, you creep?" Apparently, your "charm" was wearing thin and Hades had had enough. His hair turned into blue flames and his face contorted in anger. "Clearly you don't like it as much as you thought," you remarked. Hades took a deep breath and calmed himself. "Alright, I suppose it's right down to business then. I need you to do something for me."

"What could I possibly do for you that you can't do yourself?" Hades smirked. "You can kidnap the Savior." Your eyes widened. "Emma? You want me to kidnap Emma?" Hades nodded. "Why?" Hades just looked at you pointedly. "So I can kill her, of course. Can't have her and her little family running around here, stirring up hope. Go get her, bring her to me, and help me kill her."

"You do know that one of the most powerful sorceresses in the world couldn't kill Emma Swan, don't you?" you questioned, "The same sorceress that killed me." Hades gave a little shrug. "I'm not a sorcerer, Y/N. I'm ruler of the Underworld. Are you going to do this for me or not?" You looked at him. He was getting worked up again, little spurts of blue flame in his hair. "What do I get out of it?"

"How about your life? I can give it back to you and send you back above. Just do this tiny thing for me, and you'll get your chance at revenge." You sat back and thought. You weren't sure Hades could really do that. There was no way he could give you your life back. However, who was to say he couldn't? "Deal." Hades' smirk deepened. "Good."

You left immediately and went in search of Emma. You knew her as the hero, so at one point, you just knew she'd separate from the rest of her family. That was when you'd strike. That was when you'd take her.

Just as you thought, Emma soon left her family. You followed behind her in the shadows, careful not to make any noise. Unfortunately for you, the Savior had excellent hearing. "Who are you?" she asked suddenly and stopped. You swore under your breath. "Hello, Emma," you greeted, stepping out into the light. "What are you doing, Y/N?"

You were holding a sword out and had a ball of magic in the empty hand. "I'm getting my ticket out of here. If I take you to Hades, he'll give me my life back. I can go back home." Emma looked at you sadly. "I don't think it works like that, Y/N. I don't think Hades has that kind of power. He lied to you." You froze.

Part of you had known that Hades could have been lying. But there was that part of you that had held onto hope. "No," you whispered. "Y/N, think about it. There is no way Hades would give away one of his souls. Not even for me." You stood there, sword and magic in hand, frozen on the spot. Was she right? Would Hades simply dispose of you when he was finished? Your gaze traveled between your sword and Emma. Your mind was bouncing all around. The unspoken question hung in the air. What were you going to do now?
