"Rose!" The Doctor screamed. "Roooooose!"

"What." She snapped.

She repositioned herself on her bench in the main control room of the TARDIS. She waved cool air her face with her hand. Not that it helped much. It was scorching hot. It made the Doctor cranky, and she was not in the mood for running at his whims. Not in this temperature.

"Roooooooose" the Doctor whined, "I want to go somewhere else." He said softly with a groan.

Rose turned her head, to see the Doctor splayed across the lifted walking deck. His leg was thrown over the railing, his red All Star almost touching her knee. His hair was even messier than normal, and small beads of sweat appeared on his nose bridge.

"Why aren't we leaving then?" Rose asked.

The Doctor sighed like he had answered the question already a billion times over. "The air-conditioning is broken. She needs fixing. And if we start up the TARDIS it will only get hotter here. We don't want her overheated. She's not at her best in the first place." He droned up, monotone and tired.

Rose inhaled deeply. "I don't care." She sighed. "Do it."

The Doctor stood up. "Okay then." He shuffled to the console, regaining more energy with each step. When he reached the console he was back to his giddy self. It made Rose smile.

"Let's get out of here." The Doctor said, a twinkle in his eyes, and started pushing levers and switching buttons. The TARDIS began to shake and steam, the control room rapidly heating up.

All of a sudden the TARDIS fell quiet.

"What happened?" Rose asked.

"She went her own way.." The Doctor mused. "She found the most ideal conditions for her to cool down, but also where her pipes wouldn't freeze."

The Doctor smiled widely. "Magnificent, isn't she?"

Rose sat up from the bench, leaning her elbows on her knees. "Yeah. It's cooling down already." She felt a cold slowly reach through the room. It was pleasant.

"Let's go outside then!" The Doctor said happily and pulled her up.

"Where are we?" Rose asked.

"No idea. Let's find out!" The Doctor answered, pulling her with him.

Rose shrugged and bolted with him to the door. And when the Doctor gestured her to open it...

The TARDIS flooded.

Rose held her breath, and in no time the TARDIS was completely filled with what looked like water.

Bubbles were all around her, the current pushing her away from the entrance. She grabbed onto the control panel.

After about ten seconds (what felt like hours) the waters stilled and Rose could see around the TARDIS control room. It had a surreal look, completely filled with water. It could've been beautiful, if she wasn't slowly running out of breath. Her lungs started to burn already. Her arm stung, and she saw she had cut herself. She probably hit something while being washed away by the current. She heard a strange clacking noise in an unsteady rhythm. For the rest it was dead-silent.

She looked around, searching for her Doctor, but she couldn't see him. She let go of the control panel, and started swimming. She looked through the door opening, but only saw an endless blue. She saw something deep down, what looked like a sort of coral reef. When she looked up she also saw nothing but infinite blue. She turned around, back to the TARDIS. She whipped around her head, and suddenly she saw a brown coat.

The Doctor!

She started to swim towards it, slowly, her lungs burning of lack of oxygen. If she'd die today, she would die with her Doctor.

She ran out of breath. The water pushed down on her from all sides, and the more she struggled the more disorientated she got.

She pushed with her arms and legs but she could find no levarage, for all she knew she was pushing herself further down, and away from her Doctor.

Her lungs burned for more air and even though she knew she would get none her body still took a breath.

Cool water filled her lungs and blood pounded behind her eyes. She closed them, ready for the end..

But..

She inhaled. And again. Again.

She was breathing. Underwater.

She felt the water filling her lungs, inhaling and exhaling like it was air. When she exhaled small bubbles escaped from her mouth, circling up to the ceiling of the TARDIS. It was a strange sensation, so unnatural but still known, somehow.

She kicked her legs with renewed energy, swimming around the corner, where she saw the Doctor last.

There she saw her Doctor, surrounded by a flock of little pink fishes, and playing what looked like a miniature dolphin, about as big as the length of her underarm. It was clacking enthusiastically. That was what she had heard earlier.

"Doctor!" She exclaimed, relieved. Her voice sounded hollow, but clear, resonating through the water.

The Doctor turned around, his mop of hair floating in the water like a lions mane.

"Lacus!" He exclaimed, spreading his arms. He smiled widely.

"What?" Rose frowned, thinking she misheard.

The small dolphin swam to Rose, nudging her hand. She scratched the top of its head, it's skin rough like sand paper. Only then she saw its eyes were white as snow, with no iris or pupil.

"Lacus!" The Doctor said again. He swirled around. "The Water Planet! The water- it's not really water but anyways- its so dense you can swim in it, but it's also rich of oxygen! You can breathe it!" He said happily.

He swam towards Rose, "and that's not the only thing, it has healing properties! It can fix the TARDIS!" He took her in his arms and swirled her around. "Isn't she magnificent!"

Rose laughed, and the Doctor fell silent. Rose felt amazing, no bruises, scrapes or pains. That's why she felt so great. She felt new, reborn.

"What's wrong?" Rose asked, noticing the Doctor was quiet.

"You look amazing." He said softly, cupping her face.

"I love you too." Rose said, and pulled him against her.

And there they were, amidst dozens of magenta fish in an infinite blue sea, sharing an everlasting kiss.
