Third Person P.O.V

Two Years Ago

"He is back?" King Steve asked to the soul of her daughter. Emerald decided to come back but before that she wanted to assure Chase safety. So with the help of her Aunt magic, she searched for Chase and helped him get back in his human body after which he passed out from the exhaustion. He won't even remember the encounter because he wasn't in his right mind. 

"Yeah, he is fine now" Emerald muttered, lowering her head hiding the pain in her eyes. She saw Chase in his beast form destroying the place in anger and agony. When beast saw Emerald in front of her, he started whining and lowered his head to get close to his mate. It took time to convince the beast to gave the control back. He didn't want his mate to be away from him again but Emerald promised him that they will meet again in the future when time comes. She didn't want to part away from her love but she has no choice.

She was dead and he was in the world of living.

"Okay, we should start now" Cassandra said entering in the room with the ingredients to bring her niece back. She draw a pentagon in the middle where the moonlight was striking directly through the window. No one in the Kingdom know about this, not even the Queen. After King Steve told his wife about their daughter. She broke down in front of him. It was almost unbearable to watch. He wanted to tell her that he is bringing their daughter back but he couldn't because less people know, less danger.

After drawing the pentagon, she lighten the candle in the middle where Emerald's soul was standing looking anxious. She doesn't want to come back to this world but she has to. "Are you ready?" Cassy asked to her niece. Emerald sighed but nodded her head. There will be consequences of bringing a dead back and she knows it. "Aunt, what price I have to pay to come back" she asked finally, nothing is free in this world. Her Aunt looked at her brother who looked worried as hell. His eyes has fear in them, he knew her daughter won't be same again, he knew if he done this he can lose her forever but atleast she would be alive, she would be breathing. "We don't know yet" her Aunt finally responded, she knew what will happen but she doesn't want to disclose it yet. She want her niece back so that she can fulfill the prophecy and save this world once and for all. It was selfish of her to expect so much from the girl merely an adult but she has no choice. 

Emerald frowned but let it go. Its now or never. 

"Do it" she asked her Aunt when she made up her mind. Cassy nodded and started chanted -

EVOKARE LEMURES DE MORTUIS

DECRETUM ESPUGNARE

DE ANGELUS BALBERITH

EN INFERNO INREMEABLIS

For thou who sleeps in stone and clay, heed this call, rise up and obey, treck on through the Mortal door, assemble flesh and walk once more. 

She started her chants repeating the words, her hands in stretched in front of her towards the soul of Emerald. Her body lying on the ground beside her soul. Emerald's  soul started to fade away slowly and then it was gone. The candle goes out and the moon light was the only source of light in the dark room. "Did it work?" Steve asked to his sister when he saw no movement in Emerald's body. "It should" she said going towards the corpse. It has to work, it was their only chance. Emerald has to come back.

Suddenly, Emerald gasp and wake up coming to world of living. She was breathing heavily, her eyes were darting around the room. Steve gasp when he saw her daughter back, he quickly made his way towards her. "Princess" he said softly kneeling beside her. Her afraid eyes found his and she moved away from him. "Who are you?" she uttered, covering herself from these unknown people. She doesn't know them, she has never see them before. 

"What is this Cassandra, my own daughter is not recognizing me" he said wincing when he saw her daughter moving further away from him. Cassy sighed beside him "It was the thing I was afraid of" she said staring at the cowering figure of her niece. She knew resurrection spell was tricky, no one come back same.

"It is the down fall of being back, she lost her memory" she said in low voice closing her eyes. Emerald doesn't remember anyone from this world. She is lost and she can't sense her power either. She is human now. 

Present time

Chase P.O.V

"After we got her back, she doesn't has her memory, we told her that she was in an accident and she has amnesia" King Lorel said pacing in the room. I was sitting there shocked of what they did two years ago. They brought my mate back, they kept her in human world and now she is back again. Its hard to wrap my mind around it. 

"We thought it was better to let her live in the human world until the time is right, Cassy put a glamour spell on her so that no one will recognize her, with her power being lost, she has become a human and she was in danger so we have to do what was right at that time" he said sighing and holding his head in his hands. I wanted to attack him, tear him into pieces. He kept my mate away from me. I was in agony in all those years and he always came to reassure me but he never tries to ease my pain by telling me the truth. My jaw was clenched and my beast wanted to come out. He wanted his mate.

"Why now, why have her back all of a sudden" I asked glaring at him. He turned his head towards him and looked at me apologetically. Well, this won't be happening any time soon. "Because time has near for the prophecy" he said sitting in the chair in front of me. I growled out, she is a human now and they want her to fight a war like she did last time losing her life in the process. I stoop from the seat "Its won't be happening, I am not letting my mate life to be in danger again". I have done it before and I have paid the price but now I will die but won't let anything happen to her. 

"Do you think I want that for my daughter" he growled at me. "My wife has been suffering from the loss of her daughter and I see her in pain every day. The guilt is eating me alive but it is for my princess that I have to keep her hidden and safe".

"Yeah, like you did last time" I bared my teeth, he suddenly stood up from his seat glaring at me hard. "Do not forget you are in my kingdom" he snarled coming towards me. I smirked "And you are forgetting who I am".

He closed his eyes for a brief second and opened them again, all the anger evaporated away. He looked helpless now. "I just want my daughter to be safe" he murmured beaten up. I know he loves his daughter dearly and so do I. 

"I will keep her safe, I promise"

Amelia P.O.V

I groaned and opened my eyes, where am I? This place looks unfamiliar. Last thing I remembered being passed out. I have to stop passing out at random moments. Then I realized my father is here. I gaze downward shutting my eyes stopping the tears to come forward. He lied to me all this time. He was a part of supernatural world and he made me fool. I couldn't believe it with my own eyes and he knew Chase. Does it means he has any hand in my kidnapping. I rubbed my head when it started hurting.

What should I do know?

I don't even know to whom I can trust.

I want my old life back with my friends where my only problem was silly college problems. I don't want to entangled in this world but my father is a part of it that means my Aunt on it too. I sighed closing my eyes. This is too much even for me.

The door to this room opened and Chase entered, his eyes met mine. They were filled with unfamiliar emotion. He quickly closed the distance between us and took me in his arms hugging me tightly. My eyes widened and I tried to push him away but to no avail so I sighed and let him hug me for a bit. I could smell him this close and he smelled wonderful. My body fit perfectly into his. Then I remembered I have a boyfriend who I love. I broke the hug and pushed him way. He didn't mind it one bit and took the seat beside me. "How are you feeling?" he asked staring at me, his mouth formed a small smile and his eyes shining.

I frowned at his behavior, he doesn't seems like Chase I have met who was always rude and stoic. "Where is Dad?" I asked instead, I don't have time for pleasantries. I want to meet my father and get away from these people. His face fell which made my heart ache. Why am I feeling like this. I don't even know the man for God sake. "He will be here soon" he said still staring at me, his eyes changing to black looking at me. He smiled once more still staring at me. I furrowed my eye brow "Is there something on my face?" I asked touching it. He gave a short laugh and shook his head "Its nothing" .

"Then why are you smiling like a lunatic" I murmured to myself, he chuckled crossing his arms in front of his chest. My cheeks burned red, he heard me, I should have known that he can hear me. He is a dragon for Pete's  shake. "I am sorry" I said looking everywhere but his face. He slowly extended his hand and took my hand in his. "There is nothing for you to be sorry" he said holding my hand. I wanted to push his hand away because it is inappropriate. But his touch was soothing and I couldn't bring myself to part away. So I let myself enjoyed it for a bit before my logical mind starts working.

I heard the sound of door opening sending me back to the reality. I quickly snatched my hand away from him putting it under the duvet. He looked annoyed by this and crossed his arms across his chest. Dad entered in the room, he looked at me apologetically, my face became hard all of a sudden remembering the betrayal. 

"Amelia, I wanted to tell you everything" he started

"So why didn't you?" I cut him, if he so wanted to tell me then he shouldn't have to wait for it. 

He sighed and sat at the edge of bed, "Because it was dangerous" he said looking at me. I crossed my arms raising my eyebrows "And now its not?" I asked pressing my lips firmly together. "No, now its not, because Chase will keep you safe" he said in serious tone, I was waiting for the punch line but it never came. "You are joking right" I said giving a short laugh. But my laugh died down when I saw that he was still serious. "Hell no, I don't need some bodyguard, I can take care of myself just fine" I said stubbornly, Chase might be handsome, I might feel the sparks for him but he is not the one for me. He can't keep me safe.

"It wasn't debatable" Chase said narrowing his eyes at me. I scoffed "Yeah right"

"Now tell me that my whole life was a lie" I asked frowning. He took a deep breath 

"It all started two years ago-"
