I was sitting in the same room where I woke up weeks ago after being kidnapped by people who are now like friends to me or so I thinks. Being in this room is better than sharing a room with an annoying King, for now I guess. Lots of things have changed since then, I found out I am a part of some supernatural war and I have a mate who is a jerk. I have to find my brother who is hiding away from his family in grief. After all of this is over, I would like to go back to my old life, to my friends, my college and my family which consist of a father, mother and a brother now but I don't belong in this world. It doesn't feel right. Everyone have something to hide so do I. I don't want to become like them so I have to get out of here as soon as possible.

Just then I heard a knock on my door, I sighed and stand up making my way towards the door. Who is it now? I opened the door, there stood Alexander with hands in his pocket looking like a model. He turned his gaze at me and gave me a soft smile. I didn't return the smile, he didn't gave me the answer I needed, I don't think I can trust him.

But what do you expect from them, they can't suddenly pour their secrets in front of me.

"What do you want?" I asked folding my hands in front of my chest. He raised his eyebrow at my annoyed behavior "Chase asked you to join us for dinner" he said casually, they never wanted me here to have dinner with them before. My food always being placed in my room where I ate it alone looking outside the window bored out of my mind. "Why now, why not before?" I asked, now that they know I am Emerald, a big part of their life so they are treating me differently otherwise they wouldn't give two cents about me. He straighten his back and sighed "You know why" he muttered to which I scoffed. Yeah, whatever.

"Are you coming then?" he asked.

I shrugged my shoulder, "Fine" I said, as I closed the door behind me. I would rather eat with them than being alone. He smiled and started walking, I slowly walked beside him looking forward. There was awkward silence between us which I wouldn't want to fill. I don't want to talk with them, just only when it needed. He sighed beside me "There was never awkward silence between us before, never" he said, frown marrying his face. I am just fed up with how they are treating me now. They talk to me about Emerald and think that I will understand and accept. But how could I when I don't even remember anything. "Because I am not her" I said with snide in my voice. They all expect me to act like her when I am all lost here. His shoulders dropped and he didn't continue the conversation which I was grateful for. We reached in front of a large door and with a push he opened it, "After you" he said giving me a small smile. I walked inside the large hall. In the middle, there was a vast dining table, on which there was different type of food were already placed. I slowly walked towards the near chair and sat on it. I looked around, everyone was available here. Everyone as Chase, Caleb and one unknown girl who has a scowl on her face as she looked at me with disinterest.

Caleb gave me a bright smile and stood up from his seat and sat beside me. "Hello there" he said, automatically a smile appear on my face and I greeted him back. With him I felt at ease. Alex took a seat opposite of Chase with a sad look on his face. I didn't make eye contact with Chase but I could feel his eyes on me.

"As everyone is here, we can start" Chase announced and Caleb started filling his plate with pile of food. I laughed as I slowly took some dishes on my plate. "Will anybody tell me, who is the girl?" The girl who was sitting beside Chase asked as she looked at me. She looked like a barbie with blue eyes and blonde here. She sat with her back straight with a glare on her face.

Does this girl ever smile?

"She is Alexander's friend" Chase said before I could say anything. I turned my gaze at him but he avoided eye contact. A smirk appeared on her face and she looked at Alex who stopped eating and looked at her blankly. "Finally, you got a girl, but I might say your choice sucks, you had to find a human" she said making sour faces. What does she even know about humans, we are better than these freak who is acting like a bitch right now. "Well, human are far better than you" I said glaring at her. Even if she is powerful than me, even if she can kills me with a flick of her finger, I got to stood up for myself and my kind. She turned her eyes towards me and I can clearly see disgust in them, "What do you mean 'better than me', do you even know whom you are speaking to" she asked gritting her teeth in annoyance. I opened my mouth to gave a best come back when Caleb beat me to it.

"No one want to know and no one care either, so I suggest you take the party somewhere" he said, a smile appeared on my face. At least some one care enough to take my side, not that I needed it but its good to hear that someone care about you. He gave a sarcastic smile as her mouth gape open in shock. I could see Alex smiling as well but hiding it behind his hand. She fumed in anger "And what are you doing here, again, Don't you have any home or do you always like to run around here like a lost puppy wasting our time" she spit out at him as he looked at her blankly. Anger bubbled up inside me when she talked this way with Caleb. "Shut up, you don't have any right to speak to him like that" I growled as I stood up pushing my chair back. She chuckled looking at her nails and giving me a menacing look. "I have every right as you know I am the Queen of this Kingdom" she drawled slowly putting both of her hands under her chin and looking at me with a mocking smile. My eyes widened as I stare at her in shock, did she just say that she is the Queen here, as in Queen by Chase side.

I turned my gaze towards Chase for confirmation, his face was slightly tilted and he was gazing at the wall blankly. He didn't utter a single word, denying it that whatever that girl is saying is a lie but as I stare at him more, I understood that she is telling the truth. She is the Queen of this Kingdom. I looked at him in disgust, even after having a girl by his side, he proclaim to love me, he wanted me to be with him. How low can he scoop now.

I looked at the girl sitting in front of me who was smiling smugly as she see the expression of shock on my face. I can't let her have the last words, I just can't. I cover my look with a stoic expression "Well good for you because neither I am interested in your Kingdom nor in your King" I chuckled dryly. She scoffed at me "Whatever".

"Thanks for the dinner" I muttered walking away from there.

Worst dinner ever!

As I was walking away from the hall, my eyes filled with tears and I quicken my pace to go back to my room where I can be myself and stay away from all this drama. I could hear footsteps following me, so I walked quickly towards my room and without looking behind closed the door. A sob escaped from my lips as I slid down on the ground crying. My stomach was in knot as tears fall from my eyes. I tried to stop myself from crying, I tried to stop this pain but I couldn't. It feels like my heart was breaking in worst way possible. How can I even like this guy so soon. I should be happy that he has a woman by his side, he will stop pestering me and I love Xavier then why these tears are cascading down from my eyes like a waterfall, then why I am feeling like my life is going away from me.

"Em, open the door" I heard pounding on the other side, it was definitely Caleb, I felt relieved that he followed me but in the corner of my heart I also felt the pain that Chase didn't even think to clear things with me.

Living here will be so much difficult than I thought.
