I walk in mine and Hopes dorm room shutting the door behind me. "Hope?" I ask "Lia? What's wrong?" Hope asked getting up from where she was looking out the window. "I fucked up. Like royally fucked up. I don't think I've ever fucked up more in my life until now except maybe when I killed Nate but that's a different situation." I say and Hope grabbed my arms making me stop pacing and face her. "What happened? What did you do? Who did you kill?" Hope asked "What? No, I didn't kill anyone." I say "Then what happened? How did you fuck up after you and Raf left the meeting room?" I move my hair a little out of nervousness forgetting about the marks that hadn't fully healed yet. "Khalia, you didn't." Hope said "Oh I did. That's what I fucked up about." I say "When did you two see each other? Because you seemed pretty pissed off when you left." Hope said "I went to the gym and was taking my anger out on the bags like Uncle Kol taught me to do and I got more pissed off and more upset so I ended up putting a hole through the bag and just sat there and he ended up coming in there to cool off himself. And one thing led to another and I fucked up. I have to see him because I volunteered the wolves to help set up for the twins birthday dance tonight. And now I have to tell Lizzie but after what happened with the honor council, I don't know if I want to tell Lizzie right now. Plus it's the twins birthday and I don't want to ruin their birthday." I say "Then tell her tomorrow. You can at least wait a day to tell her about you and Rafael sleeping together. But you need to calm down and get collected because Dr. Saltzman wants to see you in his office and he said to bring your drawing stuff. So I would cover up anything visible and go see what he wants." Hope said and I take a deep breath. "You're right. Thanks Sis." I say "Always. Now, go talk to Dr. Saltzman before he sends someone after you." Hope said "Yeah you're right." I say "Like always." Hope said

I walk to Dr. S' office door and knock. "Hang on Caroline, someone's at the door. Come in!" Dr. S said and I walk in shutting the door behind me. "You wanted to see me? And told me to bring my drawing stuff?" I ask "Oh right, of course. The dryad drew a symbol and I managed to get a picture of it which I sent to your phone. I would like you to draw that for me please?" Dr. S asked "Yeah sure. Cool if I do it in here?" I ask "Caroline I need to talk to Khalia for a few minutes before we finish our conversation but you can stay on the line." He turns to me. "I was going to tell you that you could do it in here because we need to talk now that you are alpha." Dr. S said "Of course and what about?" I ask

"With you being Alpha, you are required to appoint a beta. I would like to know who to expect when you announce it." Dr. S said "Of course. I remember that from when Nate was Alpha and he appointed Jed as his beta." I say "Right and with you defeating Jed, you can appoint a beta. Have you given any thought to that?" I nod. "Great, who would that be?" Dr. S asked "Jed." I say instantly and he looks at me shocked. "What? That doesn't make sense. Why would you want him to become your beta?" Dr. S asked "Because he and I work very well together and get along. I wouldn't want anyone else to be my beta." I say "Alright. Once we find him you can tell him the news. But for now let's focus on the problem at hand." Dr. S said "Of course." I say and he turns back to his phone.

I start drawing the symbol that I pulled up on my phone from Dr. S while he goes back to talking to Caroline. "I know what you're doing is important, Caroline. But how do I tell the girls that their mom isn't gonna be there for their 16th birthday? I can't exactly tell them what you're really involved in. No. Khalia and I are nowhere near cracking this case. I have a knife, I have a symbol, I have a place, sort of, but I don't know what any of it means, a-and I don't know what's connecting it, and I don't know what monster is coming next." Dr. S said and I hear someone enter the room causing me to look up and I see a woman in a bloody wedding dress. "Ric?" The woman said and I quickly jump up and stand in front of him. "I've got to call you back." Dr. S said "Dr. S, who's this?" I ask and the woman looks at me. "M-my fiancée that died on our wedding day." Dr. S said and I knew he also meant the twins bio mom. "Dorian!" I yell as my eyes go black and dark magic balls up in my hands. Dr. S has a crossbow in his hands.

"Are you okay?" He takes in the appearance before him. "Whoa, whoa." Dorian said "Ric, if you could just put down the crossbow. And tell her to put away her magic. My freak-out level is about 11 right now." The woman said "You know her?" Dorian asked "I know who's she's supposed to be." Dr. S said "The love of my life." Dr. S said "Wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait." The woman said "Hold up. Hold.... Hold up, Ric. Khalia." Dorian said "Listen to Dorian. Are you Dorian?" The woman asked "Yeah." Dorian said "I'm Jo." Jo said "You're his dead wife? I m- - I mean fiancée. I mean, uh.... You don't think she's actually?" Dorian asked "No, I don't." Dr. S said "Did either of you see how she got here?" Dorian asked

"I was sort of, um... yanked awake and then I was just here." Jo said "Nothing suspicious about that." Dr. S said "You two thinking what I'm thinking?" Dorian asked "Kill her now before she attacks?" Dr. S said "Wait, what?" Jo asked "I-I.... I was more, "Let's interrogate her." Because if she the next monster, then maybe she would know more than the dryad did." Dorian said and Dr. S sighs putting down his crossbow. "Khalia stand down." I make my eyes go back to normal and the magic disappears from my hands. "Okay, but no one sees her." Dr. S said "Especially today. Speaking of today I need to go tell the wolves to start setting up for tonight." I say "Good idea." Dorian said "Okay, go set up for tonight. I need Emma." Dr. S said as I walked out of his office.

"All right, let's get the rest of these chairs and tables and get them out of here. All right?" The wolves in front of me don't move. "Let's go, let's go." I say and I hear someone walk up behind me. "You've grown up a lot in two years, Khalia." Nate's voice said and I immediately stop and turn around to face him. "No, no, no. You are dead! You have been for two years!" I exclaimed and people turn towards me. Suddenly I am behind Jed and Kaleb with Penelope and Hope beside me and Rafael behind me. "Jed, what's up man? How's alpha life treating you with me being dead?" Nate asked as the wolves all stop and start to crowd around in the instinct to protect their alpha, me. "Ali is alpha now. So I would look around this room before you make your decision of what you're doing here." Jed said as he wraps an arm around me keeping me behind him. "Immobulus." Nate is unable to move on his own. "You're coming with me." I start dragging him away before stopping. "Jed, for now tell the wolves what to do while I go deal with this." I say "Of course, Ali. You know you can trust me." Jed said and I keep walking out of the room and towards Dr. S' office.

I push the door open and shove Nate in the room. "So much for no one seeing them." I say "Nate?" Dr. S asked "Hey, Dr. Saltzman." Nate said and I walk over to Dr. S where he's at the bookshelf. "Can I send him back?" I ask quietly "We need answers." Dr. S said "Yeah, that we can use her for. I don't see why he has to be here. I don't want to look at the face of the one person I regret killing." I say "Alright, do it. But do it in here. I don't want the school to see you kill him again." Dr. S said and I nod before walking over to Nate. He goes to say something but I stop him. "This will be easier if you don't speak." I say before grabbing his hands and my eyes turn black before I start chanting a dark magic spell to myself to get rid of him. He starts to fade away to dust as I do. "I-is she going to do that to me?" Jo asked "No, she's not." Dr. S said "I put a basic boundary spell to keep her in. Are you sure she can't do magic?" Emma asked "She couldn't before she died, so if she can now, I guess we'll learn the hard way." Dr. S said "Um, she's right here. And she's got a lot of questions." Jo said "Be careful with this one, Ric." She goes to walk away but stops. "And Khalia." Emma said "Yeah?" I ask "Don't let him do anything stupid." Emma said

"I'm normally the one doing something stupid." I say "Well this time don't. Also we will have a session after all of this is over." Emma said "Yes ma'am." I say and she leaves and Dr. S shuts the door. "Okay, let's talk." Dr. S said and I sit down getting comfortable. "Who is she?" Jo asked pointing at me. "My name is Khalia Mikaelson. Youngest daughter of Klaus Mikaelson." I say smiling at her. "Now, who are you? What do you want?" Dr. S asked "I'm Josette Laughlin, almost Saltzman." Jo said "No. Jo Laughlin is dead." Dr. S said "Obviously not." I say "I'm well aware. It's not every day you get murdered at your shotgun wedding." Jo said "Okay. What's the last thing you remember?" I ask "Morning sickness. My dress. Our vows. My psychopath twin brother with a very large knife. And then... Nothing. How long ago was that? You look a little... seasoned." Jo said and I smirk trying not to laugh. "About 16 years ago." Dr. S said "16 years. I don't know what to say. How are you? How have you been?" Jo asked "Oh, just cut the... just drop the act, okay?" Dr. S asked "It's not an act, Ric. This is Mystic Falls. I'm not exactly the first person to be brought back from the dead." Jo said "Yeah, well, things have gotten a little complicated around here lately." Dr. S said and I sense Lizzie outside the door right before the doorknob rattles and there's knocking on the door. "Uh, Dad?" Why is your door locked?" Lizzie asked

"Dad?" Jo asked "And when were you going to tell us that Mom wasn't coming back?" Josie asked and Dr. S grabs Jo and covers her mouth. "I was about to. There- There's a strike at the airport in Mozambique." Dr. S said "She couldn't compel a pilot and hop on a private jet?" Lizzie asked "Dr. S, seriously?" I ask whispering but not quietly enough because Liz heard me. "Babe? Why are you in my dads office with the door locked?" Lizzie asked "Your mom and Khalia will explain everything later. Okay, but right now I just need you to go because I am wrapping your presents with Khalia's help." Dr. S said "No, you're not. You're lying through your teeth." Josie said and then the door busts open with the twins standing there with glowing hands. Dr. S quickly lets go of Jo. "Who's this trollop?" Lizzie asked "Oh, my god." Josie said "I need you to leave right now." Dr. S said "I'm sorry. How old are you?" Jo asked "16." They said in sync. "Today. It's our birthday." Lizzie said "You're twins?" Jo asked and I could tell she was putting it together in her head. "What are we interrupting here? Khalia, I thought we didn't keep secrets from each other?" Lizzie asked and I flinch a little. "He's serious. Do as he says and now just go." I say "Lizzie." Josie said "What?" Liz asked "Lizzie, it's her." Josie said

"Her who?" Liz asked and Josie goes to the bookshelf to get the picture frame and walks back over to Lizzie. "Her." Josie said "Holy crap. Your Bio-mom." Lizzie said "This is impossible. I wasn't even showing at our wedding. How..." Jo trailed off. "Your family's crazy coven magically implanted them in Caroline when you died. She's their birth mother." Dr. S said "Caroline? So... you two..." Jo said "No. She married Stefan Salvatore. Who basically died on their wedding day, too, but that's a long story." Dr. S said "They're still very close." Liz said "We opened this school together." Dr. S said "She's overseas right now doing very important recruiting work. I'm Lizzie. After my mother's mom." Lizzie said "And I'm Josie. Josette. Like..." Josie said "Me. Jo said

"Meet me in the gym." Hope said through our mind link.

"Dr. S, I hate to interrupt but Hope needs me in the gym. Plus this feels more like a family thing anyways." I say and he nods. "Of course. I'll call you back in when I need you." Dr. S said and I nod before turning to walk out but Liz steps in front of me stopping me. "Forgetting something?" Liz asked "What?" She raises her eyebrow at me and I smirk. "Oh right." I kiss her cheek. "Bye, Liz. Bye Josie. It was nice to finally meet you, Jo." I say "Nice to meet you too." Jo said and I leave the office.

I get to the gym and see both Rafael and Hope on the steps making me stop. "Good you're here. You can take over." Hope said "What exactly am I doing?" I ask "He wants to learn how to dance for the twins party tonight and you have more experience than I do." Hope said "Because that's how Auntie Bex and I bonded. But go, I guess. I got it." She leaves and I sit on the railing of the stairs and he stands between my legs. "So, the emcee will then announce Lizzie and her escort." I say "Her what?" Raf asked "Kind of like at a, a debutante ball." I say "I grew up in foster care." Rafael said "Okay. Well, they had stairs, didn't they?" I jump down off the railing and stand in front of him before walking around him. "So, you're gonna meet her halfway down." I say pointing to the spot and he goes to that spot. "How do you know all this stuff?" Rafael asked

"One of my aunts has been around for more than a thousand years. This kind of thing is her jam." I say walking down the stairs to him. "So, what, I just stand here?" Rafael asked and I go down beside him holding my arm up. "Then you take her arm." I grab his arm wrapping my other arm around his. "Sort of like you're putting yours on top. Yeah, like that. And then you descend together." We walk to the middle of the gym. "And now you bow." I say curtsying making him chuckle. "Yeah, you're messing with me." Raf said "You think this is bad? You know it's only gonna get worse, right? Lizzie Saltzman has been planning her sweet 16 since she was five. You probably should've thought twice before asking our soulmate if you could be her date." I say "Well, I didn't ask her. All I know is that I can't let her down now." Rafael said "Why?" I ask "Because I promised her, Babe. I don't break promises." He moves my hair away from my neck. "You covered them." Raf said

I'm dancing with him when I decide to speak. "I can't believe you promised Lizzie." I say "I figured she would win the witch honors council and I was trying to get her on my side. Obviously, that didn't happen." Rafael said "Clearly." I say as we continue dancing. "Are we going to talk about it or are you going to keep being short with me?" Rafael asked "We need to focus if you want to be able to dance by tonight." I say as we continue dancing. "You're leading." Raf said and he twirls me. "You're officially a gigolo." I say and he scoffs. "Thanks for this." He laughs walking away. "I guess I'll see you at the party since you won't talk to me." Raf said "No, you won't." I say "So, what, you're just gonna stay in your room alone while everybody else is out having fun at our soulmates and her twins birthday party?" Raf asked

"Yep, works for me." I say crossing my arms. "Bullcrap. Everybody needs a crew." Raf said "Kind of ironic coming from the reluctant soulmate of 2." I say "Okay, well, you and Lizzie are one thing, but a crew is a crew. You know what? I had that in Landon until you and your sister sent him away." Rafael said "We're back to that? If this is going to end in angry sex again go ahead and let me know now." I say smirking slightly. "I'm just saying. It's one thing to be cool with being alone, and then it's another to want to be the lonely girl on purpose." Rafael said "As opposed to Mr. Good Guy, who's taking a girl who's his soulmate and that you promised to her own party?" I ask walking towards him. "You know what, you're right. Lesson learned." Raf walks to the door and goes to go out but hits a barrier. "The hell?" Raf asked and I walk up beside him pressing my palm against the barrier. "Barrier spell. Fantastic." I say "Sorry, kids. Nothing personal." Penelope said "Let us out of here, Pen." I say "You'll be free in an hour, Ali. Plenty of time to practice that waltz." Penelope said before walking away.

"So you can slay a dragon, gargoyle, and a spider, but you can't get us out of here." Rafael said as he walks towards where I'm sitting on one of the beams. "Only Penelope can undo the spell. Or the twins could siphon the magic." I say "Well, that's unlikely, seeing as Lizzie probably thinks I'm standing her up right now." Rafael said "Even though I do not agree but as Hope would say if she was here her ego could use a little bit of deflating." I say "I'm not that guy, okay? I don't just forget about people." Raf said "Relax. It's only been 12 hours." I say "It's not that! Look, it has only been six weeks since..." Raf said "Your girlfriend died. Cassie." I say and I get down off the beam thing and move towards him. "It's crazy, but I feel like... like I cheated on her or something." Raf said

"I felt the same, after Nate died. Nate was the guy you saw earlier. He was a werewolf that could control when he changed, hair would grow from the sides of his face, his ears grew pointed, his eyes glowed like a steel blue because he took the life of his girlfriend Paige back in his hometown before he moved because she was bitten by an alpha of his kind and she wasn't going to make it. It's either the bite takes or it doesn't. She begged him to end her suffering so he did. He moves here after a fire killed his entire family except an older sister. His kind of werewolf isn't even supposed to be able to get drunk. But at a party like the one when you first got here, he was 16 and I was 15, and somehow he got drunk. He was coming on too strong and I pushed him away and it didn't use magic like I did with you but with it just being normal strength, I somehow pushed him into a tree across from us breaking his neck on impact. It was my first kill so it triggered my curse. My parents were dead and I isolated myself away from people including Hope because I was scared that I would hurt them too. The only person who helped me through the change was Jed who was Nate's beta because Nate was Alpha and once Nate was dead Jed became Alpha. The first time it happened I felt the exact same way you do right now but eventually I moved on." I say

"So if I can do right by Lizzie, maybe that can..." Raf said "Then what? It'll exonerate you?" I ask "I don't know. Maybe." Raf said "Look, Rafi, you went through something awful, and it's right to mourn your girlfriend, but you can't pretend to like Lizzie to make yourself feel better about sleeping with me. That's not doing her any good, or yourself." I say and he walks away from me.

"One more minute." I look at the clock from where I'm sitting. "Rafi, Hope didn't just send Landon away. She sent him to someone who's gonna help him find his birth mom." I say "Hope sent him away by himself to find the woman that gave him up." Raf said "What if she's amazing, and he finally gets a family?" I ask "He had a family. He had me." Raf said "A crew isn't the same. Family is always and forever." I say "Yeah, you're right. He's not my blood, but he is my brother. If anything, maybe you should try doubling down on friends to make up for the family you don't have." Raf said and I growl at him. My eyes flash black and he grips at his throat and I smirk at him. "Listen here you ass, taking your anger out on me isn't going to get Landon back. He's the one who followed us into that church even after I specifically told him to stay outside. So next time, you want to take your anger out on me, don't bring my family into it because I'm told I get my temper from my father." I growl before letting him go. He looks back at the clock. "Times up, lonely girl." Raf said and he left. I make the split second decision to go surprise Lizzie at her party and go get a dress from the collection of them that I have from doing balls and stuff. Once I get dressed Hope goes through our mind link.

"I need your help finding Josie, apparently her possessed biological mother kidnapped her. In the woods." Hope said

I run to the woods to find Hope. I find her walking towards the Old Mill. "You two gonna howl at the moon wearing that?" Penelope asked "Sorry, no time for bitchy banter." Hope said before I stop and she stops too. "Actually, we could use your help finding Josie." I say "What happened?" Penelope asked "Apparently, her possessed biological mother buried her alive in the cemetery." Hope said and Penelope grabs something. "We're coming with you." MG said and we walk further into the woods. "MG, listen to her breathing." Hope said "Hold on. I hear something. Shovel." MG said and he starts digging until a hand shoots up out of the ground grabbing onto MGs ankle. MG falls and I see a zombie come out of the ground.

I grab the axe out of Penelope's hand and hit the zombie with it. "That won't work!" He stabs the shovel through the zombies head and it falls over dead again. "To kill a walker, you got to go for the brain. Everybody knows that." MG said "Yeah, every nerd maybe. Just call it a zombie." Penelope said and multiple hands start shooting out of the ground. "Zombies. Plural." I say and I hand the axe back to Penelope. "What are?" Penelope asked before I cut her off by holding up my hands. "Cover me." My eyes turn black as I start to summon the shadows to become people. Once a shadow army is in front of me, I put my arms down. "Defend." I say and the army instantly starts fighting the zombies.

"Whoo! Two for two, baby." MG said once he kills another zombie. "Penelope and I can handle the rest. You two just find Josie." Hope said and MG grabs me. "Right Got it." MG said vamp speeding away. He stops when we hear rattling. "Josie. I hear you. Hold on." MG said and he starts digging with vamp speed before throwing away the coffin lid with vamp strength. It's another zombie causing him to fall backwards so I grab a shovel stabbing it through the zombies head. Hope and Penelope comes up behind us. "MG, we're running out of time." I say "Watch out!" MG said and I grab the zombie to keep it from biting me. "Pen? Axe." I shove the zombie away from me. Penelope throws the axe to me and I catch it decapitating the zombie. "Damn it, MG, get up and find her." I say "There's too much noise." MG said "Well, listen harder. Pretend you're on a beach or something." Hope said "I got her." MG said and he grabs me before vamp speeding away.

Once he gets to the spot, he puts me down and we both instantly start digging with our hands. A hand soon reaches up and MG pulls her up. She's gasping and crying when she sits up. I sit beside her and she leans against me. "It's me, Jo Jo it's me." I say and she hugs me. "The talisman. It worked." Hope said and Josie reaches for her necklace. "What's it supposed to do?" Josie asked "Make quiet things heard." Hope said and Josie completely leans into me. "Can you walk or do you want me or MG to carry you?" I ask "I can walk, I think." Josie said and I stand up and help her stand up and she goes to take a step before she falls over. "I got you, Jo Jo, I got you." I say catching her carrying her to the school.

While Josie showers Penelope, MG and I are standing outside. "I'm serious, Peez, Alia. Something clicked while I was taking out those zombies. Uh, it felt right inside, like that was the real me." MG said "Meaning...?" Penelope and I ask in sync "I'm a superhero." Penelope snorts and I laugh and we lean on each other. "Like from the comics. Cause heroes don't just get the girl- - they get all the girls." MG said "Oh, totally." Penelope and I say in sync "Yeah." MG said "Superman is such a slut." Penelope said and all three of us start laughing. "Thanks for tonight, MG, Alia." Josie said "First hero thank you. Uh, accepted! Up, up, and away." MG said and we both walk away.

I sit down on the couch watching the fire dance. "Hey." Rafael said walking up to me. "Hey." I say "Rough night?" Raf asked "Um... no. All evidence to the contrary. I actually had a lot of fun. What about you?" I ask "About that..." He sits down across from me on the coffee table. "I was straight with Lizzie." Rafael said "I now have my own Avengers squad." I say and we both laugh. He stands up holding his hand out to me. "You want to see if I still got it?" Raf asked "Why not?" I ask and he laughs. I grab his hand standing up and he pulls me to the middle of the room. We start dancing and I'm smiling up at him. "You look like you took a bath in dirt." Raf said "Oh, thank you." I say "You're welcome." Raf said "No, actually, you wouldn't believe the night that I had. I, um, decided to take your advice." I say "Really?" Raf asked and I laugh. "Yeah." I say and we stop dancing for a minute and he stares down at me before kissing me holding my face in his hands. "Lizzie knows about last night." Raf said and I back away from him. "What? I was planning on telling her tomorrow so I wouldn't ruin her birthday even though the possessed bio mom kidnapping and burying her twin sister alive kind of does that all on its own." I say

I'm standing beside of Dorian while Dr. S puts pictures and stuff on Jo's grave. "Ric, why don't you go home. Khalia and I will take care of all of this." Dorian said and Dr. S looks up at him before standing up. "The only place I'm going is to find whatever monster did this and kill it. Slowly." Dr. S said and suddenly I hear cackling making me turn around to face it. Whatever it is walks towards us cackling. "It wouldn't do you any good." The thing said "And who the hell are you?" I ask "Oh. Your pathetic attempt at humor does nothing to mask your fear. Tremble then I'm the presence of the Necromancer!" Necromancer said cackling. "The Necro- who now?" I ask "The... Necromancer. Bringer of life and death. He who holds the Fates' threads. The cursed king of the underworld!" Necromancer said "It's not ringing any bells. You two?" I ask "All I know about Necromancer is from video games. And they're like, low-level witch cannon fodder." Dorian said and the Necromancer laughs. "I am no mere witch. There's only one me, I assure you. And now you've seen what I can do. Let's get down to the business of a certain knife." Necromancer said and my eyes immediately go black as I start walking closer to him. "If you're the one responsible for what went down today..." I say before the Necromancer cuts me off. "Yeah." Necromancer said and I smirk. "You're gonna wish you were someone else." I say "I told you. Death cannot hold me." Necromancer said and I stand right in front of him so now he can see my eyes. "Buddy..." I smirk at him while my eyes are pure black. "Clearly you haven't met the Demon Tribrid." I say and I twist my wrist making the Necromancer neck break.

I'm in mine and Hopes room while she's asleep drawing when a piece of paper appears in the room. I move to grab the note which wakes Hope up from her bed. "What is it?" Hope asked

"I need to speak to you in my office."

-Dr. S

"It's from Dr. S. He wants to speak to me in his office." I say "This late?" Hope asked "Go back to sleep. I'll be back." I say and she nods before falling back asleep. I go Dr. S' office and knock on the door when I get there. "Come in." Dr. S said from inside. I push open the door and there's someone sitting in a chair. "Please don't tell me the Necromancer brought someone else back." The girl turns around. "Evie?" I ask "Where's my brother? Where's Nate?" Evie asked "What do you mean?" I ask looking at Dr. S. "He hasn't contacted me in 2 years and I finally got up enough money to come here. So where is he?" Evie asked standing up looking at me. "Nate died 2 years ago." I say my voice void of any emotion. "What do you mean dead?" Evie asked and Dr. S takes over. "There was a party, one I didn't know about or I would have put a stop to it. Trust me on that." Dr. S said

"Nate somehow got drunk. He started coming on way to strong, tried pushing him away multiple times. Finally one last time I pushed away.
