Chapter 5 - Hospital
*Calum's POV*
I woke up on my bed in my hotel room. I looked around, and there was no girl. No girl was near me, and I wasn't standing outside of the elevator. That must've been a dream. It felt so realistic, though.
How could I have dreamt that, so vivid? In the dream I saw the girl standing there, so beautiful. She had gorgeous blonde hair and big, blue eyes. I pictured her like I knew her, like she was standing right in front of me.
I prayed that I would meet her like I did in my dream. I didn't want to meet her in an awkward way.
I walked out of my hotel room with car keys in hand. I was going to drive around a little to try to find her.
I began to drive around, feeling my necklace get warmer, warmer, warmer.. It suddenly stopped getting warmer and began to get colder. I turned around and drove the opposite way. When my necklace began to get warmer, and it got as warm as it had been, I got out of my car. I saw a girl drive by who looked like the girl in my dream. Was it really her?
I waved my hands at her, then she hit the brakes on her car. The car driving behind her was going faster than it should've been, and it slammed into the back of her car before it could stop.
I gasped and ran towards the car. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I called 911. The air bag had blown out and deflated partially by the time I got to the side of the car.
I checked to see if the man in the car behind was okay too. He seemed to be fine, just shocked at what had just happened.
"I'm so sorry," I apologized to him, "I didn't mean to cause this. I just waved at her to try to get her to notice me. I didn't think she would hit the brakes like that."
"I was going too fast, though. Don't worry about it," he sighed, "I'm just worried if she is okay. Is she okay?"
"She didn't seem to be majorly hurt, but I'm not sure."
"Could you check, please? I really don't want to have caused something terrible to her."
I nodded and walked up to the other car in the accident while the man sat back in his seat, probably hurt somewhere but not announcing it.
I opened the door to the girl's car and picked her up out of it. She was unconscious, so I held her and carried her to the man in the car behind hers.
"She seems to be fine, just unconscious. Her arm is bleeding a little, though," I informed him, holding the extremely light girl in my arms.
"Your.. your, uh," he pointed, "your necklace. Her necklace, they.. They connected."
I looked down at my necklace that had connected with hers. She was my soulmate. I was right. I couldn't imagine her not making it after we both went through so much to find each other. What would happen then?
The ambulance got there quickly. I was glad. They loaded her into the back of it. They checked the man for injuries. After concluding that he didn't need to go to the hospital, they wrapped his bleeding leg and took the girl to the hospital.
I went with her in the back of the ambulance. I realized that my necklace had stopped getting colder or warmer. Maybe once your necklace connected with your soulmate's, they stopped getting warm or cold.
I held the girl's left hand the whole way to the hospital. I still had no idea what her name was, but I hoped I'd soon find out.
"Sir, could you tell us her name?" A paramedic asked.
"I just met her. I have no idea," I shrugged, "I'm sorry"
"That's fine. She probably has ID," he assured me, looking in her pockets for ID.
"Here is her phone," the paramedic pulled her phone from her left pocket.
"Could you try to find her name from her phone?" He asked me, handing it to me.
"I'll try," I nodded. I turned it on, and there was a picture of her with two boys who must've been her brothers. They all looked so much alike that you couldn't deny them being related. I held the home button down to summon Siri to see if she could tell me anything about the beautiful girl.
"Siri, bring up my contact information about myself." I told her. That's what she did. A profile popped up on the screen.
"Kaylee Wilson," I told the paramedics, smiling, "she's twenty, her birthday is March 5, 1996."
"Thank you so much," they thanked me as the one wrote down the information. The one not writing asked, "anything else?"
"No, not on here. Sorry," I apologized and placed the phone back in her pocket after turning it off again.
We got to the hospital soon later, and the doctors told me there wasn't anything majorly wrong. She had broken her arm, as I figured, but nothing else had happened. She might've hit her head slightly, they said, but nothing major would occur because of that.
I was excited when they finally told me that she was conscious and I was allowed to go into the room and talk to her. I was going to officially meet my soulmate.
