Chapter 15 - Surprised
"Surprise!" All of my friends yelled. Mom had invited six of my friends over to our house. I was so surprised. They all stood around the table where there was a large cake sitting in the middle.
My friends Alexandria, Victoria, London, Eliza, Georgia, and Ruby were all in my kitchen. Had my mom invited them over? I was excited. I could introduce my friends to Calum and the other way around. Calum looked into the kitchen and seemed shocked. He had no idea who the six were.
"Calum, these girls are my best friends from high school, and we're still great friends. There's Victoria, Georgia, Eliza, London, Alexandria, and Ruby. Girls, this is my soulmate, Calum Hood."
"Kaylee! You met your soulmate?" My best friend out of all of them, London, exclaimed, coming over to Calum and me.
"I'm London Taylor, Kaylee's lifelong best friend. And you're Calum Hood?" She questioned Calum.
"I am," he nodded, smiling. He looked at me before looking back at London.
"You want to make sure you're good to her. Don't hurt her, or I'll hurt you," London got protective and gave Calum the cliché speech.
"London," I put my hand on her shoulder and laughed, "no worries. Calum won't hurt me. So you don't have to hurt him, okay," I looked at her right in the eyes in all seriousness and she nodded.
"I'm sorry. I get way too overprotective sometimes. I really don't mean to. I just don't want my best friend hurt," London smiled at me.
"London, he's my soulmate. He won't hurt me. We know we love each other, even after knowing each other for only a few days. I promise you he won't hurt me, but if he ever does for some reason, which I doubt will ever happen, I give you permission to hurt him too," I laughed, looking between Calum and London. London nodded and laughed along with me. Calum just smiled at me and began to speak.
"I would never hurt Kaylee at all, definitely not intentionally. I wouldn't even think of it," Calum assured my friends and my family.
"That's good. Because if you do, just be sure that London will come after you, and she won't be happy. She's been best friends with Kaylee since they were in kindergarten," Alexandria put her hand on her hip.
*Calum's POV*
"I don't doubt that she'll come after me. And I say for the millionth time, I promise not to hurt Kaylee," I let them know. Why couldn't Kaylee's friends just let this whole thing go? Thankfully, they did.
"That's great," the girl who I later found out was Eliza told me.
"Now, let's eat some cake, huh?" Georgia suggested. Everyone agreed and Kaylee's mum walked into the kitchen to cut the cake into slices so she made sure everyone got, and she wanted to be positive that there was some left over because it was such a huge cake.
Everyone walked into the living room and sat down on the couch, in the chairs, or just on the floor. We all began to talk.
*Kaylee's POV*
"So how did you guys meet?" Ruby wondered, looking at Calum and me sitting together on the couch.
"Well, it's a long story," I laughed, "that's also how I broke my arm.." I began to explain and by the end of the story, all six girls' mouths were open.
"That's such a great story," Alexandria was amazed.
"It's not great that you broke your arm, though. I wondered what had happened ever since I saw your cast," London jutted out her bottom lip, seeming sad.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Kaven jumped up off of the floor in the living room and ran to the front door. The front door was not visible from the living room, so I couldn't see who was at the door. I didn't know why he'd reacted like that, though.
"Do you guys know what just happened there?" I asked Mom and Dad, then looked at Kit. They all shook their heads because they had no idea why Kaven jumped like that from his seat.
After talking for about another twenty minutes, we were interrupted by Kaven slowly walking past the living room to the kitchen with someone behind him. Mom noticed the girl behind him and yelled for Kaven to come into the living room, interrupting the whole conversation that my friends were having with me, and the conversation we were having with my family.
"Kaven Michael Wilson, get back here now!" Mom exclaimed, obviously mad at Kaven.
"Mom, what do you want?" He walked into the living room alone with no one beside him or behind him.
"Bring her too," Mom pointed to the kitchen. Kaven's head hung low. He slowly walked back out of the living room and came back seconds later with Lainey.
"Lainey?" Victoria looked at the girl behind Kaven.
"Victoria, what are you doing here?" Lainey's mouth hung open.
"The real question is, what are you doing at my best friends house sneaking around with her brother?" Victoria scowled at the younger girl.
"He's my soulmate. We met just today," she smiled.
"Is there somehow a connection between you two?" I looked at Lainey, then at Victoria. They somewhat resembled each other.
"Lainey is my cousin. I didn't know she was with your brother," Victoria explained.
"Cousin?"
