Emily
About three hours had passed since Brennen had dropped me off at Lilly and I's house. She still wasn't back yet, so this time, I was considering calling the police. Every twenty minutes, my hand would reach towards the phone, itching to call. But every time, hope would stop me.

An hour later, I decided to head to the Traphouse. If anybody would know where Lilly was, it was Colby.

The ten minute trip there seemed to last for hours, but before I knew it, Aaron was opening the door. Before he could say anything, I bolted up the stairs to Colby's room.

"Colby! Cole! Wake up! Is Lilly with you?!"

He opened up the door groggily, half awake, reminding me that it was about 12 am in the
morning.

Colby rubbed his eyes with his wrist. "What?"

"Lilly. Is she with you?" I peeked over his shoulder into his room, only to find no Lilly is sight.

   "Fuck!", I half-yelled.

Cole must have finally processed what I had said, because his eyes grew wide, and he ran over to his close, grabbed a hoodie, took my arm and pulled me into the hallway.

"When did you last see her?", he asked.

"I don't know, last night her, Devyn, and I were just hanging out and shit, then you called her wanting to hang out, so then she left to go to your place."

"Emily, she called me and told me that you needed her help with something, so she had to go back to the house and canceled."

I shook my head, nervously. My fingers started to shake, so I grabbed them and held them as close together as I could to stop the trembling.

"I never called her."

He threw his hair back with his hands, his face unreadable.

"Should we go to the police or something?", I asked.

"No, we can't, they'll only report a missing person if it's been more than 36 hours."

Fuck. What I couldn't understand was why she would lie. Why she would call Colby, canceling, saying that I needed her.

The thoughts stirred in my head, giving me a massive migraine. Just thinking about Lily not being okay made my heart pound so hard that if felt like it would fly out of my chest.

As I was about to sit down, I felt the vibration of my phone in my back pocket. During my date with Brennen, I had turned off the ringer so it wouldn't go off.

Whoah. A date. With Brennen. I went on a date with him. A real date. It still felt unreal, but also gave me a feeling that I've never felt before.

I've never had these emotions for anybody in all my life. Brennen was different, I felt that I could trust him with my life.

Before I could think any further, the buzzing brought me back to reality. I grabbed my phone from my pocket, whipping it in front of me so fast that it almost flew out of my hands.

The gasp that escaped my lips caught Colby's attention, as he turned himself around to face me.

'Lills', the screen read. Without hesitation, I slid my finger across the screen, answering the phone.

"Lilly! Oh my fucking god! Are you okay? Where the fuck are you? Everybody's so worried, oh my god!"

A chuckle came from the other side. "Calm down Em, I'm fine."

"W-where are you?"

There was a short silence after I asked, making me even more concerned than I was.

"Is there someone there? Can you talk?", I asked.

Through the time of her voice, I could feel her playful rolling her eyes on the other side of the phone.

"I'm at work. "

"Work?"

"Yeah, Stephenson wanted to shoot some pictures at night."

  "Oh."

"I gotta go, I'll call you later babe."

I sighed. I didn't want to interrogate her, but I had to know why she lied.

"Why did you tell Cole that you needed to come back to the house, when you didn't, and never came back?"

A hitched breath and a long pause came from the other side of the phone.

Suddenly, a short beep blasted in my ear. She had hung up on me. A crushing feeling drowned me. Lilly was lying. I knew that the studio was closed, it closes at eight at night, and it was way past then. Plus, she hadn't come home last night when Devyn had slept over, and left early in the morning while we were still sleeping. I was sure of it.

The biggest thing that concerned me was that she was hiding something from me. Lilly never lied. Never.

I'm pretty sure the only time she ever lies is when she clicks that she read the terms and conditions before signing up for something. And even then, she would probably feel guilty about it, and go back and read them.

Colby's lips turned laid straight. It would hurt for me to tell him, but I would have to break it to him. He was standing a few feet away, close enough for him to hear what I was saying, but still enough to give us some privacy.

My heart pounded with regret as I tuned to Colby.

"I should've never went on that day. I should've spent the night looking for her. I-"

"Whoah, Emily, it's not your fault. Don't even think that for a second."

"Thanks, Colbs", I sighed.

"I'm so fucking worried about her, Emily. I love her."

It definitely caught me off guard, I've never heard Colby say that to Lilly, and Colby must've not realized that he had said it out loud.

Then that's when all of a sudden, the most obvious idea popped into my mind. It was stupid for it not to come to me till now.

I grabbed Colby's arm. "SnapMap!"

The words must've come out of my mouth so quickly that they came out jumbled, because Colby was staring at me with a puzzling look.

"We can see where she is on Snapchat. She probably still has her location on!"

He grabbed his phone out of the pocket of his hoodie. A few seconds later, and his face lit up in hope, but then quickly fused into confusion.

Colby handed his phone to me. "Isn't the studio is Los Angeles?"

Grabbing the phone, I nodded softly. "But why the hell is she in San Diego?"

We gave each other a desperate look.

"It's a two hour drive from here", I told him.

"Well then it looks like we better start driving."
