Emily
I've never seen anybody shop as much as Devyn. Three bags hung from her left arm, and two more hung from her other one. Only one bag was gripped in my hand.

  Shopping has never been my thing, I've never had any knowledge of style or fashion. Devyn picked out a dress for me. She brought the pink one while I got the black.

No matter how much I begged, she wouldn't let me pay for it.

The rest of the day, we spent messing around in the mall. One girl asked me to take a picture of her and Devyn, and I happily accepted.

We spent about five hours shopping, and I was relieved when we finally arrived at Lilly and I's house.

Devyn didn't like to be in the house when the guys filmed, she told me that she felt weird. Lilly had come home too once the guys started filming.

"So, how'd you end up in LA?"

"Uh - long story."

"Well, I have time."

I sighed. All three of us were sitting on the couch, and I figured that I lied enough. The truth would eventually come out anyway, and the guilt of not telling Lilly bit away at me.

  The couch felt rock hard as I prepared myself to tell her.

  Devyn grabbed my hand. "Emily, you can tell us anything."

  My throat clenched. "Well, um - you see, my mother wasn't the most sober person. Every morning, five bottles of vodka; every afternoon, she liked to attack me. My dad, let's just say that sometimes he got bored with my mom at night and used me as a substitute."

"Oh my god, he raped you?!", Devyn asked, almost cutting off my circulation from squeezing it so hard.

"No, no, he never raped me, just...touched."

"James, did he do anything?", Lilly piped up.

"Yeah, but he was just an asshole. Nothing too big. But all those things made me some shit I wasn't proud of."

Devyn and Lilly looked at each other, then looked back at me, telling me to continue.

"I - stopped eating, but Brennen is helping me with that."

I grabbed the corner off my dress and lifted it up a little, showing my thigh.

"What the fuck, Em!"

Looking over at Lilly, I saw that her face was red, filled with fury.

"I'm sorry", was all I could say.

She grabbed my wrist, and dragged me to the hallway. I glanced back at Devyn, and her mouth was wide open, tears forming in her eyes.

We came to a hault, and Lilly leant on the side of the wall, crossing her arms. She sighed, and looked down. For a while, we stayed like that.

Silence filled the whole house, and I heard slight chattering coming from the living room.

I focused my ears to the room, and was able to make out Devyn talking on the phone.

My heart raced, I was terrified that she was telling someone what I did, but I calmed down as I heard she was talking to Corey, telling him that she would be staying the night at our house for a "girls night".

"Why?"

Lilly had finally looked up from the floor, and was staring at me.

"I - I don't know."

  She turned silent again, then hugged me, burying her head into my neck.

  "Just don't do it again, okay?"

  "Okay."

  "Why didn't you tell me?"

  "I was afraid of losing you."

  "Em, you would never lose me. You're stuck with me forever."

  A smile grew on my face, and I led her back into the living room, where Devyn sat on the couch, inspecting the floor.

  "Find anything interesting?"

  Devyn's head shot up along with body, and she pulled both of us into a hug. "Come on, let's  see what Elton's up to."

  I texted him, but he didn't answer. We figured that he was probably filming, so we didn't want to bother him.

  Surprisingly, James hasn't been blowing up my phone. When Lilly and I first moved to Los Angeles, he had been texting me nonstop, making my phone go off about twenty times a day.

But recently, there hasn't been any word from him. No texts, no calls, and no posts on social media. Of course, I didn't follow him, but I would casually look at his profile to see if anything changed.

It raced through my mind, I didn't know whether it worried me or excited me.

Speaking of texting, Brennen had called me earlier, asking if I was free for our first date tomorrow. I said yes without a doubt. Once I told Devyn and Lilly, they freaked out. Devyn demanded I'm doing my hair and makeup, while Lilly begged me to let her choose my outfit.

  I was definitely nervous. I was a stranger to first dates, but luckily, Devyn and Lilly had been on plenty, so they were here to help me.

  Devyn suggested that her and Lilly follow us to our date spot and hide, and have me wear a mic. From there, they would tell me what to do and say. No matter how much fun that sounded, I declined with a laugh.

We were about to watch a movie, when Lilly's phone went off. She picked it up, and showed us who called - Colby. Lilly put it on speaker and point her finger to her mouth, gesturing for us not to talk.

"Hey babe", Colby chimed.

Lilly smiled. "Hey. What's up?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to come over."

She looked over at us, and I saw that she was about to say no, but I grabbed her arm softly, and nodded my head.

"Yeah, I would love to."

"Cool beans. See you in a bit."

"Bye."

They hung up, and Devyn and I squealed like little girls.

I winked at Lilly. "I wonder what he wants."

She slapped my arm slightly. "Oh shut up, he probably just wants to hang out or something."

"Probably not", Devyn said with a smirk.

"Oh my god guys! I'm going", Lilly laughed, and grabbed her bag, heading for the door.

Devyn and I chuckled. "Have fun! Don't forget to use protection!"

"Fuck off, Em!"

She shut the front door, but I could still hear her laughter.

Devyn definitely surprised me. I would've never expected her to be this outgoing. At first, I thought she was shy, not wanting anything to do with any madness. But now, it feels like Lilly, Devyn and I have became a little group.

I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.
