Emily
It felt like we were walking forever. As soon as we got out of the elevator, our eyes scanned the large floor.
There was white carpeting, and each door was made out of some translucent glass with numbers on them.
The clerk told us Lilly's photographer was in room sixty two, so we walked around until we found it.
Lilly and I walked in, and a man with a toothy grin and glasses greeted us. He took Lilly's hand and shook it.
"Ah, you must be Miss Sedeño, I'm Stephen. I must say, your porfolio photos were rather stunning!"
She blushed. "Thank you, sir. This is Emily, they said I could bring a friend."
He glanced over at me, just seeming to notice me. I stuck out my hand towards him for a handshake.
His smile dropped and stared at my hand, eyeing me up and down.
"Oh, yes. Of course."
Stephen eyed me up and down for a second more before turning to Lilly again, his smile returned to his face.
"Let's get on with this shoot, shall we?"
I looked over at Lilly, only to find her staring back at me. I shrugged and she opened her mouth, ready to say something, but I grabbed her shoulder and shook my head, causing her to sigh.
Stephen took Lilly and I into the back room for makeup and clothes. He fixed her while a young girl worked on me.
We didn't talk that much, we just made small talk, and I learned that her name was Lydia. It surprisingly didn't take that long, not like I imagined.
Lydia and Stephen walked out of the room to the elevators, with us following. He had his camera resting on his shoulder, and Lydia carried some lights and sheets.
The elevator ride was pretty quiet and a little awkward, with the only sound being Lilly talking to Stephen.
We soon arrived at the top floor, and I gasped. It was roof level, but it didn't seem like it. There was a huge garden filled with different flowers and there seemed to be hundreds of different stations.
One station had a huge wall made of roses, and another had a brick wall with some amazing graffiti on it. I silently hoped we would be going to the one that had a window, that when captured at a perfect moment, would cast a rainbow.
While I was getting my makeup done, Lydia told me that we would also being going to the beach since it was only a three minute walk from the building, so I was pretty excited.
Our first stop was a white wall that had a crack in it. Stephen picked a rose of a bush in the garden and handed it to Lilly.
He took the picture and told us to go to the wall that I was hoping we would go to.
He shooed me in front of it and hastily snapped the picture, then had me go away, and carefully placed Lilly in front.
I could tell that she was trying her best not to scream at the guy, and I couldn't help but smile.
We took some more pictures on the roof, then we were told we would be going to the beach.
You could feel the tension in the air between Stephen and I during the walk. Lilly excitedly chatted away with me.
Stephen would casually turn around to give me a death-glare, but Lydia would nudge his arm, and he would turn back around.
Honestly, I don't know what his problem is with me. I haven't said anything rude or offensive to him, all I've done is try to shake his hand and attempt to make a kind small talk with him.
It hurt a little, knowing he sort of hated me, but I had to push it away so I didn't ruin Lilly's time.
She was having fun, and I'd hate to be the person to take it away from her.
Soon we reached the beach. Stephen handed me and Lilly some clothes to change into, so we went to the nearest bathroom.
I was careful not to smudge any makeup, and I was surprisingly successful.
We took some more photos at the beach, and changed our outfits and fixed our makeup a few more times in the process.
After the beach shoot and an awkward walk back to the building, we arrived back to the room.
Lilly and I sat down on the couch that was pushed into the corner. Stephenson walked into the back room to get something, then came back to us. He had a stack of photos in his hand.
"Miss Sedeño, I'm going to have you pick your three favorites so we can enter them into the system", he said, handing Lilly the pictures.
He smiled, then reluctantly looked at me, handing me my pictures.
"And...you. Here's yours."
He shoved them into my hand, then turned back to Lilly.
"After you're done, just return them. See me after you're done choosing, so we can set up a schedule, okay sweetie?"
He quickly smiled at Lilly again before turning on his heel and walking back into the dressing room where Lydia was cleaning.
"Asshole", Lilly muttered under her breathe.
I chuckled and motioned for her to start looking at the photos. As much as I hate the photographer, I have to admit that he takes incredible pictures.
Lilly's pictures were amazing. Mine however, we're not so amazing.
I shoved them in my jacket pocket and continued looking at the pictures with Lilly. She soon picked out her favorite three and went to go talk to Stephen
While she did that, I fumbled with my bracelet on my wrist and sighed. I had at least been waiting on the couch for thirty minutes.
I wasn't annoyed or anything, just bored. I stood up from the couch and winced. My leg had a cramp from sitting for so long.
Walking around would probably help it. I decided to explore the building before we left.
The sixth floor was pretty big, so I wouldn't have to leave it. I was about to make a right, but then I heard some yelling and extremely loud laughing from one of the rooms.
It sounded like it was coming from down the hall, so I followed the sound.
My ears soon brought me to room six-twenty-four. I didn't want to seem like I was stalking them, but I wanted to know what was happening.
Peeking my head into the room, I saw three guys huddled around a phone, hysterically laughing.
Their backs were turned to me, so I couldn't see their faces, but I could tell that the one in the middle had black hair with a bit of red and purple streaks in it. The one standing to the right had silver-ish hair, and the guy to the left had black hair.
Suddenly, two of them turned around, causing me to whisk my head back.
I waited a few seconds, then looked again. The two guys were walking towards a room in the back. Only the man with the red hair remained.
He was still concentrated on the same thing, so I pressed my ear to the glass, trying to hear what he was listening to.
"Asshole!"
I jumped back. I'd know that voice from anywhere. It was Lilly's. Peering into the window, I finally saw what he was looking at.
It was was a Youtube video, I think. After focusing my vision a little bit more, I saw that it was a video of the event earlier this morning.
They were laughing at a video of the stranger jumping into the fountain and Lilly screaming at them.
Somebody was taking a video of that? I guess I should've assumed that someone was recording, since someone wouldn't just jump into a fountain for no reason.
After a few seconds of debating with myself of whether or not I should confront the man, I decided to do it. I reluctantly knocked on the door.
The man got up, his eyes still locked on the phone. He opened the door, still peering down. I was about to say something, but he beat me to it.
"Jay! Did you see the new video I just posted? It's fucking hilarious! Oh my god, you have to see the looks on these girls' faces!"
I raised my eyebrow and cleared my throat.
"Uh, hi?"
His head snapped up from his phone. Once he saw me, he burst out laughing.
"Well, you're definitely not Jay. Sorry about that, I was just distracted by this."
He held up his phone and pointed to it, and I saw the video playing. I looked at it and that's when I realized something.
The guy who jumped into the airport fountain had a beard and dyed hair. I glanced quickly at the guy in front of me.
My eyes then darted back and forth from the guy in the video to the one standing in front of me. It was him. I was standing in front of the same guy that soaked Lilly and I in fountain water.
The guy had a confused look on his face, he must've seen me staring. He raised his eyebrow then looked back at the video.
His eyes came back to me. Suddenly, his eyes grew wide in realization.
Our eyes met and we kept the stare. It was kind of awkward, but still funny at the same time.
He smirked, and then that grew to a chuckle, which then led to him hysterically laughing. We then both became red-faced, crying in laughter.
When the laughter died down, I stuck out my hand.
"My name's Emily."
I was scared for a second that he wouldn't shake it, like Stephen. He smiled and wiped a tear from his eye.
He strongly grasped my hand and shook it.
