Part 32
"You realize what you have taken up on yourself? Do you now?" Ratul muttered slipping the almonds inside his mouth. "You are gonna die virgin bro! Understand the seriousness of the situation you moron!"
"Fuck! Stop! Why do you have to interject sex in everything?" Suvro made a face sipping the scotch briefly. The burn of the alcohol caused lesser flinch in him in comparison with Ratul's comment.
"Cause that is the main reason people marry, other wise who will? Why?" Ratul reasoned.
"Dude you need some serious help you know!" Abir sitting beside Ratul gave him a scornful look.
"And you know him only two years!" Arun raised his glass to Abir's comment with a scoff getting Shuvro chuckle along with. "Which brings me to my question again, what are you doing here?" He made narrowed hus eyes in threatening manner at Ratul. Arun was not happy with the fact how Ratul was jeopardizing his Saturday night killing the buzz. For god sake these liqueurs were pricey, and he would pike to feel it.
"Oh I was missing my pretty little lawyer head!" Sarcasm replied through Ratul with a smirk which successfully earned a glare back.
"You know what! Fuck you! Stop fucking popping in our gathering! Get your own friends!"
"Uh! Stop me if you can Your Honour, Shuvro is my friend!"
"Right! I remember how much of friends you are..."
"Oh are you still sticking your Butu's ass?"
"Mind your tongue you asshole!"
"Or what? You are practically an elf infront of me! What are you gonna do?"
"Shuvro ask him to stop or I swear..."
"Though I whole heartedly love your this little banter, don't get me wrong, cause I genuinely do, so very much," Abir butted in cleating his voice, "isn't it getting a tad bit boring now? Every time the same...!"
"Very much!" Shuvro made a face.
"I mean you two are thirty..."
"Twenty nine!"
"Twenty eight!"
Both the voice growled in protest.
"Not five, are you!" Abir concluded with a sarcastic smile.
"Oh let them be, otherwise how my boring life is going to get entertainment!" Shuvro rolled his eyes boringly gulping the whole drink down.
"You need to sleep with someone!" Ratul declared after staring at Shuvro's face for a moment and stuck his head high to look around the bar.
"Wow eureka moment!" Arun scoffed.
"There! That woman in white dress is hot! Fuck she is hot!!!" The last sentence came out more like a monologue. He was enjoying what he was seeing infront of him ignoring the rest three people of the table, who were looking at him with wide eyes.
"Insanity does not know limit ladies and gentlemen!" Abir growled.
"You would think!" Arun raised his glass to Abir again.
Shuvro preferred not to reply anything to the person infront of him but glare.
"It was a joke! Laugh!" Ratul grinned awkwardly looking at the mad bull expression painted on Shuvro's face. "Though she is hot!"
The atmosphere turned serious when Shuvro kept silent and still looking at Ratul. The rest of the two people squirm on own sit.
"I am not sorry." Ratul declared.
"Was not joking either!" Shuvro deducted which granted a node from him getting awkward hissing from rest of the two.
"Seriously what is wrong with you!!!" Arun growled at Ratul.
"Ask him if it doesn't bother him, at least I have the guts to say it out loud. He ain't no saint!"
"Ya you are right! It does bother me but that doesn't conclude that I might jump onto someone else's bed, otherwise I would not have married her! I did what I did knowing everything"
"Yes you shouldn't have married her!"
"Fuck off..." Arun butted in again
"Why it doesn't bother you seeing your alleged best friend's life turning into this?" Ratul retorted.
"Are not you tired of asking the same question again again over these four months? Give it a break!"
"That woman will finish his life, take it from me. I can write in one of your those stamp paper, lawyer!" Ratul took a look of Shuvro. "Just look at him!!!"
Shuvro was clutching his hair with both hand and resting his elbow on the table. The third glass of the drink was doing its own duty inside him. He suddenly felt brave enough to suddenly burp out what he was thinking, "yah look at me!" He looked up and finished the drink. "Look at me Ratul, what do I look like?" He put down the glass heavily making Arun and Abir flinch. Ratul's eyes stayed trained on him, as he was expecting and wanting the burst out. "Sex life? Fuck, do I look like some one very desirable for a girl who is mourning over her lover to forget him? To turn her on enough to leap on me? Fuck, who am I kidding I wear specs, with out any handsome enough feature. Have you seen me?"
"Dude relax..." Abir muttered but was studiously ignored.
"Do you remember Sumedh!!! Do you?" A cruel yet sad smirk looped on Shuvro's face. His eyes sparkled with bitter wits. Ratul nodded still staring intently at him. Arun's head held hung tilting one side. The inner current clear sadness in Shuvro's voice made him stand in the accused box. He started questioning whether he should have not supported Shuvro in the wedding. The sadness was wrenching him.
"Its been eight to nine years Ratul, you still remember him! Who am I to compete with him. I was nothing then or now. Even when he is dead. I don't have the one forth of that charisma or looks. So don't make me climb the hope ladder!" He chuckled bitterly. Shuvro gulp down the drink, "I don't know how much of an animal do you think I am but I didn't marry to fuck! If that was the case I wouldn't have marry her."
"you are married to your hand! No one else!" Ratul grunted after Shuvro sighed finishing his monologue.
It took time for what he said to sink in but after moments roars of drunken laughter from the table made everyone in the bar cum restaurant to jolt and look at them.

"Boudimoni, should I stay? Shuvro dada isn't back yet!" Chaya's worried voice made Tuli look at the clock again for the third time in the evening.
It was already nine past! Where the hell was he!!!
She growled inwardly.
"No! You must return to home. Manisha is alone with her brother, right?" Tuli muttered frowning.
Chaya nodded, "I am not sure if Manisha's father is home or not!" She muttered hesitantly. "But he might. And you are alone..."
"You don't worry a thing, I will be fine. I am a big girl. Manisha is still a teen, go home at once! It's late already. Rush now!" She ushered.
Once she locked the main door carefully after Chaya left with a worried face, she took her phone again.
She redialled the last dialled number again.
Shuvro's phone still refused to be reachable.
"Die for I care!!!" She growled clenching her jaw but her fingers were redialling the number.
Again! And again!
'May be he is meeting or something!'
'What if his phone got lost'
'What if something happened!!!'
A portion of her mind was already thinking it. It was human tendency to think of the worst possibilities once people were out of reach and technology had just heightened led the thought processes.
Sooner the thought entered in Tuli's mind sooner she stopped in her way and suddenly started feeling out of breath. She walked in to the balcony.
God! Why!!! Was everything about to happen once again likely?
"Fuck! Why the fuck I marry?" She growled scanning the road down. A few auto and privet cars were whooshing down the road but was no sign of her husband.
*
It was near eleven when the doorbell rang making Tuli jolt up. She looked down at the main get leaning on the balcony and an abstract figure caught her eyes. She recognised the shirt and rushed down.
"You know what time it is!"
Shuvro was standing unprepared infront of Tuli's questions. He blinked viciously. His drunk mind made it difficult to understand what he was facing.
"Umm... I was out!" He murmured walking inside.
"Yes! And it's eleven..." she scowled and then noticed her husband properly to conclude. "You are drunk!" She made a face looking at him who was finding it difficult to get out of his shoes. Frowning she rushed to kitchen and brought a glass of water to him.
He was sitting at the tool chair next to the shoe rack trying to get rid of the socks. He took the glass and poured it down totally in his mouth. As he returned the glass to her his eyes lingered on her for a little long. His eyes dilated. Suddenly the urge to lean in and grab her those lips with his own seemed uncontrollable and his liver full of alcohol was encouraging him to do so. He felt himself leaning in.
"Excuse me, I am not alright right now!"
He tried to move away from Tuli and rushed to his room. But four glasses of scotch again refused to agree with him and jeopardize his walking speed. He made face and tried walking normally.
Damn you Ratul!!!
His mind cursed.
The more his speed decreased the more the urge to spin around and slam his body against her increased.
"Did you eat something or just on a liquid diet?" She growled sarcastically, crossing her hands across her chest, taking a look of husband head to toe.
Shuvro turned a little and nodded.
"And what about driving? Did you drive in this state?"
"No, Arun dropped me..."
***
Next day Shuvro came to awakening and immediately his ears grabbed someone yelling. And the feminine voice was no unfamiliar with her.
"...What are you Batman!!! That you can drink like fish and drive? Do not indulge my husband in such stunts of yours Arunavo I swear I will kick your sweet little ass."
Tuli's scream brought Shuvro out of his room tiptoe and look at her with awe. His head was throbbing but he could not, not hear these.
"Uber! Ola! You idiot book a cab!"
Tuli was facing her back at him. He didn't hear what Arun replied but Tuli gain growled.
"Right him! Him! When the fuck are you two friends with that asshole huh!... fuck I don't wanna hear. Keep that to yourself. I swear I will clunk two of your heads right up... do you realise how Butu will react!"
On the other end of phone Arun was sitting pinching the bridge of his nose. His head was killing him.
"I will call Aloka on you Arun!" Tuli growled. "dose she know you..."
"Since when do you care?" Arun hissed.
"Excuse me!!!"
"Yes since when do you care and since when Butu dose! No offence but you don't acknowledge any of us anymore! You don't even acknowledged your husband..."
"Arun!"
"Butu doesn't acknowledge any of us. You guys are in pain I get it, but we were friends too you know. To care for us he needs to be here. Or at least contact. I shared the pain too Tuli. So did Shuvro. You are pounding on me for drinking and driving, Shuvro is already dying Tuli..."
All the emotions suddenly came rushing out of Arun. And at the other side Tuli had turned now and her eyes laid on Shuvro who was looking at her with wide eyes.
"Anyway. I don't want to ruin your morning. Besides my head is killing me. I am hanging up..." Arun hung up...
