EIGHT

"Please order me lunch while you take yours, I haven't eaten all day." Orlando spoke from where Diamond left him standing. She was envisioning the kissing scene, it was all in her mind, a mere fantasy and yet it left her lips tingling. A feeling unknown to her coursed through her as she realized just what was going through her mind, as much as she didn't want to see her boss as more than her boss, her thoughts and body were betraying her. She was rather disappointed that he didn't follow her and slammed her against the boardroom door and ravished her mouth. It would have been hot.

But the man has stated that it would be best if they all forget about it all and move on forward and not dwell on the past.

She nodded and left him alone in the boardroom. He softly cursed as he remained all by himself, trying to think of anything else but Diamond Barry and her naked body writhing beneath him, all soft and tender.

He tried thinking of anything work related he could nibble on and he remembered he had to call a man about buying his hotel as it was going under. And that was his ticket out of his aroused situation, what a nice save.

Sitting by her desk, Diamond picked up the menu from one of the restaurant across the street, they did deliveries and employees from the Logan Gold Towers enjoyed their meals, such a lovely nice restaurant that catered for meat lovers and vegetarians. "Hi, this is Diamond, Orlando York's assistant. Could I please have bacon and avo sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and grilled cheese and ham sandwich with ordinary fries and I'll have two orange juices please." She placed the order and waited for it.

It was so easy being the man's assistant. He was well respected and using his name often opened doors for her and when she was in a rush, they served her first. Sometimes she even lied about the orders being for the man when she didn't want to wait long in queues. She knew it wasn't fair on the others who have been waiting for too long hence she only did it when necessary and when she was lazy to wait.

When lunch arrived, she used the card Orlando gave her, to pay for whatever he needed for her to pay and to also buy herself lunch when she wanted to. The perks of being a rich man's assistant were amazing and she wouldn't trade her job for anything in the world.

"I brought your lunch. What's on the agenda today?" she asked placing his food that she herself had placed on a plate and poured his juice in a glass. He preferred to eat out of the take-outs containers.

"I want to buy hotel and this man is not willing to sell but he is no longer making profit. So I've been trying to get a meeting with him, but his assistant keeps telling me he is busy." He told her, picking up his grilled cheese sandwich from the plate. He only was allergic to raisins, so he allowed Diamond to choose his lunch for him. She always picked the best meals for herself, so she was tasked with picking food for him too.

Before Diamond, he never had time for lunch, he'd only eat dinner. He ate lunch if he was on a lunch meeting and they'd decide on eating. She indeed was God sent. He now had more time to just be himself and think of what will be next in his life, instead of worrying about little things in his life.

"Give me their number; I'm sure I can get you an appointment." Diamond said and Orlando passed him the man's business card; Andrew Smith. "Let me see what I can do." She left his office, and he smiled. Diamond was back and not the weird, timid woman he has been experiencing since Fridays.

Diamond researched the man, she knew some people who could help her make it happen and she was proud of herself. It was her job to make her boss's life less stressful and she took pride in that.

"Your appointment is tomorrow at three o'clock. I have pencilled it in and also a reminder is on your phone so you don't forget, but I will also remind you. Anything else you'd like for me to do? I want to go eat before I die on my feet." She joked and Orlando laughed, his laughter erupting from his throat, so deep, so nice and it weirdly put a smile on her face, a stupid smile.

"Thank you Barry, I don't know why I tend to doubt if you could do the things you claim you can do. Go on and eat." He told her, a smile on his face as she walked out, glad to be making him happy. She smiled thinking that maybe they could move past the weirdness that almost consumed them.

What a lovely lunch she had, but she was working through it. Only she and her boss knew she was taking lunch at odd times, but the outside people didn't know and they kept calling, wanting to speak to Orlando, wanting a meeting with him, wanting to know about one, two, three and it was a mess. She was glad that she actually managed to eat and still speak with people with her mouth not full of food.

Just as she was busy on her laptop, trying to find some files she had to print out for Orlando, a woman dressed in a white dress, shot straight to Orlando's office without speaking with her. She quickly pressed a button under her desk, locking Orlando's office.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Diamond asked; her eyes narrowed. "And where are you going in such a speed?"

The woman was without a doubt gorgeous, her make-up blended in, her brown hair straightened, she was a sight, and it was her attitude that wiped all that from Diamond's eyes. "Listen, I don't want to talk to you, I don't need to, and I want to see Orlando. Now be the great assistant and let me in." she spoke through gritted teeth, while she swung up and down the door handle to Orlando's office.

"Do you have an appointment?" Diamond asked.

"I don't need one." The lady hissed, her brown eyes turning a darker shade.

Diamond was disrupted by her office phone ringing; it was coming from Orlando's office. "What is going on with my door Barry?" he asked.

"There is a woman who just shot straight to your office without checking with me first. No I don't know her name, what's your name sweetheart?" she asked, a smirk on her face as she enjoyed seeing the death stare she was receiving from lady.

"Annika, my name is Annika. Now open here..." she snarled.

Diamond was surprised that Orlando instructed her to open for the woman and so she did, not without mean-mugging the woman as she walked through the door to the lion's den.

Diamond wanted to know what the business with the woman was, so she followed right in and was shocked at the image presented before her.

The woman had her arms wrapped around Orlando's neck, her lips pressed to his.

"Oh! Sorry... I didn't realize." She spoke, hurt flashing in her eyes but she quickly composed herself. She had no right to be hurt, no right to be mad, no right to feel jealous... and boy was she not jealous.

"Barry..."" Orlando called out just before the door slammed shut.

Diamond leaned against the door, holding onto the door handle, trying to get herself in check. She was more hurt than she was jealous of that woman.

And she couldn't understand why, she didn't want Orlando... or did she?

Well another chapter in, tell me what you think. Will Diamond change her mind about wanting Orlando or seeing Annika will officially cause her to stay away from the man?
