The Burns family were watching television as Mayor Luskey was doing a press conference "And so in honor of Earth Day, I give you Griffin Rock's planet friendly building: 'The Mayor Luskey Library'" the mayor explained as the camera shows the library being made of recycled materials.

"Repurposed aluminum can roof, used glass bottle walls, and of course only books on reclaimed paper. Other buildings will be green with envy because everything about our library is 100% recycled" he explained. "Including the jokes" Chief Burns added as the phone rang as he answers "Emergency dispatch go ahead" he said. The person who was calling is Mrs. Neederlander, an elder resident of Griffin Rock "Charles! Send in the rescue force!" she demanded "Mrs. Neederlander? All right stay calm" Chief said "A life's hanging in the balance, you must cover or else..." Mrs. Neederlander said until she screamed.

"Mrs. Neederlander? Hello?" Chief asked, but he didn't get an answer "Rescue Bots, Roll to the rescue!" Heatwave declared as they leave the firehouse. Cody and Hot Shot are the Command Center as they spot Mrs. Neederlander's house "Okay, we can see Mrs. Neederlander's house now. Nothing looks out of the ordinary" Cody explained "It could be a fire inside" Kade suggested "Burglars" Dani added "A busted pipe" Graham retorted.

The Rescue Team arrived at her house and the Burns family exited out of their partners "Finally!" Mrs. Neederlander exclaimed as she was on a tree along with her cat, Mister Pettypaws "You took so long to get here! I assumed I'd have to save Mister Pettypaws myself" she explained as the tree branch, she was holding on broke and began to fall, Heatwave quickly transforms and catches Mrs. Neederlander.

"Put me down, you robotic oaf!" she demanded as Heatwave complies "Uh, maybe you didn't notice, but the robotic oaf just saved your life" Kade explained. "Mister Pettypaws is the one who needs saving" Mrs. Neederlander retorted "Oh, my baby...emergency" she demanded "Some people have a strange idea of what constitutes an emergency" Graham said "Boulder, please get the cat down" he ordered. Boulder transforms into his robot mode and bends the branch that Mister Pettypaws was on as he climbs down and goes onto Boulder as he purrs.

Dani just chuckles at the sight of it "Well, at least someone knows how to say thank you" she said "You are welcome, Mister Pettypaws" Boulder said.

At the firehouse...

"All right everyone, team meeting as you know today is Earth Day" Chief Burns announced, "Isn't every day on this planet Earth Day?" Blades asked "Yes, but today is special. So, we are going to give the firehouse a good spring cleaning" Chief explained "Dad, Earth Day is about helping the environment not doing chores" Dani explained "We all celebrate in our own way" Chief replied as he pushes the bucket and mop to Dani.

"Cody, you and the bots tidy up the bunker. Dani and Graham, garage detail. Kade, you're with me" Chief said as everyone began doing the spring cleaning "All I'm saying is if a cat can climb a tree by itself, it can get down by itself. That rescue was a complete waste of time" Heatwave explained "Mrs. Neederlander seemed pretty worried about her baby" Blades said "I was not aware humans can have domesticated animals as offspring" Chase added "That cat isn't really Mrs. Neederlander's baby. He's her pet, but sometimes pets can be seen as family or a best friend" Cody explained.

"Have you ever had a pet, Cody?" Boulder asked "Nah, I always wanted a puppy, but Dad said no dogs "Too much responsibility kiddo"" Cody explained "Wise words; these pets seem like more trouble than they're worth" Chase added. "No, not all of them, Chase. Some pets can even work on rescue teams" Cody retorted as he approached the tv screen and shows the Rescue Bots photos of pets mainly dogs doing rescue work "See? Police can use specially trained dogs to sniff out whatever they find to find. Some pets ride along with firemen, and some help stranded skiers" Cody explained.

"Incredible!" Boulder exclaimed "Where do humans find these pets?" he asked "Usually at a shelter, all the animals are kept in big cages until somebody comes to take one home and—" Cody explained until he gets interrupted by a call from Frankie as he answers "Hey Frankie. Yep, I'll be right out front" Cody said as he hangs up "I gotta go. Doc's taking Frankie and me to see the Earth Day exhibit at the zoo" he explained "What's a zoo?" Boulder asked. "It's kind of like a big animal shelter. I'll email you pictures, Boulder" Cody said, "Can I come with Cody to the zoo?" Hot Shot asked as Heatwave sighs "As long as it's okay with Cody"

"Sure thing, Hot Shot. You can come along" Cody agreed. The Greene's van arrived while Kade is cleaning the windows as he spots Cody and Hot Shot leaving the firehouse "Hey, hey, hey, how come Cody and Hot Shot get to quit early?" Kade asked his father. "I'm amazed you can see anything through that window, keep scrubbing" Chief said.

At the zoo...

Frankie enters the zoo as Cody takes a photo of the zoo entrance "Cody hurry up! All the good photo ops are inside the zoo" Frankie urged "Hold on, I gotta send this one to a friend" Cody replied as he sends the photo and enters the zoo with Hot Shot following him "Frankie, we're passing up all the animals" Cody said "To get to the best ones first! The lemurs, they are part of the Earth Day exhibit" Frankie added as she grabs Cody's wrist and began running while Cody takes a picture of the giraffe that they passed.

Then he spotted a lion "But don't you want to stop and see the cross—eyed lion?" Cody asked as he and Hot Shot approached the lion exhibit. "Lemurs come before the lions in the dictionary" Frankie said and ran off as Cody takes a picture of the lion "Guess, we're never gonna get to the zebras" Cody said as he and Hot Shot caught up to Frankie.

"Aren't they amazing? These lemurs are so highly trained. They're practically as smart as people!" Frankie exclaimed "Uh, why are they playing the trash?" Cody asked "They're not playing with it, they're sorting it. Each lemur has been taught to find recyclable material, see?" Frankie explained as they watched a lemur picking up a glass bottle and putting it into the recycle bin "They smell each piece of garbage to tell which is made of and put it in the right thing. Plastic, glass, paper, whatever" she said.

A ring is heard as the lemurs gathered around as it was feeding time. The lemur food landed on their feeding boxes, and they began to eat. "The lemurs even clean their own dishes when they're done eating" Frankie explained "Wow, Kade doesn't even do that" Cody exclaimed as he snaps a picture of the lemurs. "Now, can we see the cross—eyed lion?" he asked "Okay, but I'm not sure how well he can see us" Frankie replied as they headed to the lion exhibit.

At nighttime...

Boulder was sneaking out of the firehouse, suddenly Blades and Hot Shot caught him "Boulder, where are you going?" Blades asked "I'm going to get a pet for the team. Cody will be so surprise" Boulder explained "I thought Chief said no dogs?" Blades retorted "And besides even if Chief did agree to allow the family to have a dog, how are we supposed to get one from the animal shelter when the two of you are too big enter?" Hot Shot added.

"Doesn't have to be a dog and there is one place that we can enter" Boulder replied as he shows Blades and Hot Shot the photos from the zoo "Cody sent me pictures from the animal shelter that he and Hot Shot went to today. They're all kinds of pets there, I just have to pick which one to take home" Boulder explained as he puts the photos away. "It would be nice to have more help with our rescues. Can we get one that's furry?" Blades asked.

Blades, Boulder, and Hot Shot arrived at the zoo; Blades tries to open the gates but its locked. "Why are the gates locked?" he asked "Probably to keep the animals safe until they're adopted" Boulder answered "Um Boulder, this isn't the animal shelter, this is a—" Hot Shot said until he was cut off by Boulder "Good thing, it's a city structure; Engineers like me and Graham have 24-hour access" Boulder explained as he used his access and the gates opened.

After, the trio entered the zoo and began to search for a 'pet' for Cody. Boulder chuckles when he sees the giraffe and waves at it, while Blades got startled. "Oh, they're all so cute" Blades said admiring the lemurs "how are we supposed to choose just one?" he said "Look, it's a Mister Pettypaws in our size" Boulder exclaimed, standing next to the lion. Blades turns to see the lion and Hot Shot gasped "Please don't choose the lion" Hot Shot thought.

Blades and Hot Shot approached Boulder "He doesn't look as cuddly" Blades muttered "I bet he's strong" Boulder added as they watched the lion jumped "Look at his horizontal jump. He's the perfect pet for our Rescue Team" he said. Hot Shot's optics widen "Oh, no" he mumbled, Boulder scans to open the door, but he was denied "Huh, my scanner isn't working" he said "Phew" Hot Shot whispered as he is a little relief.

"You turn off the main power, I'll open the cage" Boulder suggested "I don't think that's a good idea. Remember Jurassic Park?" Hot Shot replied, but they didn't pay attention to him as Blades turns off the main power "Oh, dear. This won't be good" Hot Shot muttered as Boulder opens the door.

"Welcome newest member of the Rescue Bot team" Boulder announced "Blades, Hot Shot, what should we name him?" he asked. Blades just shrugs his shoulders, while Hot Shot remained silent as he was too worried about the consequences. "Maybe, 'Whiskers'?" Boulder suggested. 'Whiskers' roars and departs the zoo "Oh no!" Hot Shot exclaimed "Whiskers" Boulder called.

"I don't think he likes that name" Blades said "Hurry! We have to find him before someone else adopts him" Boulder said as he, Blades, and Hot Shot exit the zoo "Or maybe let the animal control find him?" Hot Shot suggested. After they left, one of the lemurs had watched Boulder opening the door as they opened the door from their exhibit and left the zoo.

Meanwhile

Blades, Boulder, and Hot Shot were searching for Whiskers "There. Near the alley" Blades said as the trio head towards the alley where Whiskers is as the lion growls at them "Don't worry Whiskers, we're here to take you home" Boulder reassured "Yes, back to your den at the zoo" Hot Shot added "What? But—" before Boulder could protest Blades spotted a garbageman, causing the trio to stand still "Do not be alarmed" Boulder said in a robotic voice "This is a routine patrol" Blades added.

After the garbageman left, Blades, Boulder, and Hot Shot turned around Whiskers was gone. "Maybe, we should call the chief?" Blades suggested "A cat doesn't constitute an emergency, remember? And we don't want to ruin Cody's surprise. Let's just keep looking" Boulder said. Hot Shot just sighs in defeat "You two keep searching, I'm going to the firehouse and sleep, and if I find Whiskers on the way, I'll call you" Hot Shot explained "Alright" Boulder agreed as he and Blades resume searching. Hot Shot transforms and heads back to the firehouse.

"You guys are wondering: why couldn't I just tell them that the lion is not a pet? Well, given the fact that of how oblivious they are, I believe there's no way I could keep telling them about this, and besides I'm still a kid, I need my rest. I'll figure out how to tell the Burns family and my mentor, Heatwave about this"

The next morning...

Cody picks up the emergency phone and hears Mrs. Neederlander screaming "It's Mrs. Neederlander again" he said as Chief Burns sighed "I'll take this one, patch her through my commlink" he said as Cody complied. "EMERGENCY!" Mrs. Neederlander screamed "and uh, turn down the volume would you, son?" he asked.

Chief and Chase arrived at Mrs. Neederlander's house as he exits out of Chase and approaches the tree until he saw something unusual, and contact the rest of the team "Team, I have a situation here" he said, "Let me guess: a cat in a tree?" Kade replied "You might say that" Chief retorted as the lion roared. Chase transforms into his robot mode and jumps in front of Chief as he tries to pick the lion up, but the lion roars and swats at Chase "But, this time I'm going to need some backup" Chief said.

Dani sighs "You better loop the bots on the commlink, Dad. Blades isn't here" she explained "Neither is Boulder" Graham added "Where do they go?" he asked "Geesh sorry, no idea. I must have missed share time" Heatwave replied, "I know where they are" Hot Shot said "But, you're not going to like it" Hot Shot told them where had Blades and Boulder had gone to last night and Heatwave became furious "WHAT!?!" he screamed that he scared the birds.

"I'll tell Blades and Boulder to rendezvous with us at Mrs. Neederlander's. You three ride in Heatwave for now" Chief Burns explained "It's gonna be a tight fit" Kade muttered. They left the firehouse, just as Kade said it was crowded. "Hey, that's my seatbelt" Graham said to Dani "Personal space, look it up" Kade replied "Watch your elbow" Dani said.

They saw the lion after exiting Heatwave when they arrived at Mrs. Neederlander's house "Where's Mrs. Neederlander? The lion didn't – I mean she's not" Graham stammered "She's safe and so is Mister Pettypaws" Chief assured. Blades and Boulder arrived as Blades transformed into his robot mode "Oh well about time, I can't believe you enjoy riding with me" Dani said, though she knows what Blades and Boulder had been doing last night "There wasn't much joy involved" Blades replied as Boulder changed into robot mode.

"You found my pet" Boulder exclaimed "Yeah, we already know" Heatwave said "Hot Shot told us what you two were doing last night. What were you thinking?" he demanded "Well, the pet was supposed to be a surprise for Cody" Boulder explained. "I think we're all surprised" Chief added "Boulder, that's no pet. That's a wild animal" Graham said, "How did the thing get loose?" Kade asked "I adopted it from the animal shelter" Boulder replied, "You mean a zoo?" Dani remarked "That's what I've been trying to tell you, guys" Hot Shot said over the commlink. "Is there a difference?" Blades asked "Big difference" Graham replied "Human customs are so confusing" Boulder muttered. The lion jumped off the tree as the Rescue Bots tried to grab him, but he sprinted off.

Meanwhile...

Cody was biking his way to school until he hears a low growl and a rustle in the tall grass. He gets off his bike and investigate the noise, the lion popped out as Cody fell to the ground "Nice...lion" he said. Cody takes off his backpack and tosses it away as the lion chases it, the lion picks up the backpack as items fell out and Cody ran towards his bike, but the lion blocked his path.

Cody felt cornered until Frankie's voice is heard "Hey, King of the Jungle" Frankie appeared behind the lion "Over here" she said "Frankie, what are you doing?" Cody asked. Frankie pressed something on her bracelet as the lion leaped towards Frankie, but the forcefield deflected him "Go on, scat" Frankie said as the lion ran off and Frankie turns off the forcefield. Cody approached her "Forefield bracelet, fashion and function" Frankie explained.

"How'd you I was here?" Cody asked "I tracked your cellphone signal. The lion accidentally called me" Frankie explained as she played the call "It's a good thing, I was nearby" she added "We better tell my dad about this" Cody said. Meanwhile, the lemurs were wandering around and placing items to the recycle, they saw the Mayor Luskey Library that was made by recycled materials suddenly the lion appeared behind them and causing them to run away from him.

Blades and Dani found the lion while carrying a wooden cage "I have a visual" Dani said as she and Blades began chasing the lion. The citizens saw the lion as they run away from him, a man was taking a photo of himself and when he checked it there the lion was behind him, he turned around and saw the lion and ran away. The lion tried to chase the man, but Boulder blocked him as the lion tried to run the other Heatwave blocked him too. "Now Dani!" Graham said as Dani tries to pick the lion up with the cage but missed.

"Nice shot, Dani" Kade sneered "Uh huh, yeah. Just find the lion, would you?" Dani retorted. Meanwhile, Chief Burns dropped off Cody and Frankie to school "You two stay inside and you'll be safe, the school is locked down until we capture that lion" Chief Burns instructed. Suddenly Mayor Luskey calls him "Chief Burns! Where's your team? It's madness out here!" he said "Mayor, slow down. Is it the lion?" Chief asked, "It's the library!" he replied as aluminum cans were being thrown across him "It's being destroyed by the—the vermon!" he replied. It was revealed that the lemurs were tearing the library down because it was made by recycled materials and lemurs were tearing it like crazy.

The mayor catches the aluminum cans being thrown at him, but he ended up getting buried by it. Mayor Luskey got out of the pile and ran, the lemurs entered the library and snatched some books that the people were reading, tossing paper out of the file cabinet as they began tearing the library from the inside as the mayor was doing a tug-a-war with the lemur with his toupee "Give me that you overgrown squirrel" he said. Chase, Chief, and Cody arrived on time as they saw the chaos, a debris is falling right towards Mayor Luskey, but Chase caught it.

Mayor Luskey tried to catch the lemur that had his toupee, but missed as the lemur put it in the recycle bin then Mayor Luskey picks it up and noticed something about it "Plastic? They told me it was real hair" he said "Hey, those look like the super smart lemurs from the zoo" Cody explained as Chief Burns contacts the others "You hear that, Team? The lemurs must have escaped when Boulder freed that lion" he explained. "Boulder did that?" Cody replied "Oh, sorry. I ruined the surprise" Chief replied.

"But, the zoo lemurs were trained to sort garbage, not wreck buildings" Cody explained "That building is garbage" Graham said as he and Boulder arrived "Recycled garbage anyway."

"The lemurs must think they're just doing their job" Cody added "So how do we get them to quit?" Dani asked, "I know we give them a treat" Cody suggested "Dani, you keep trying to corner that lion, if you need backup, give a holler" Chief said "The rest of you, hustle over to the library. Cody has a plan."

Heatwave and Kade arrived as Heatwave uses his water jets to scare the lemurs off the library. Chief Burns leads the people out of the library then he noticed Mayor Luskey sitting on the front porch "Uh, Mayor...you should probably step back for your own safety" he suggested "I finally have a building named after me...it's trashed" Luskey muttered "It be fair, your honor. The building was trash to begin with—I mean it's just— "Kade said until Chief Burns cleared his throat then Kade escort Mayor Luskey to safety.

Chief Burns contacts Cody "How's the plan coming, Cody?" he asked, "I don't want to say things are bad, but the library has two new skylights" Chief explained as the library is getting worse. Cody is inside of Boulder with Graham "We're ready to roll, Dad" Cody replied as he turns to Graham "Now, the lemurs always get fed when they finish recycling at the zoo" he explained "So, they'll stop working once they see a scoop filled with treats" Boulder added as they arrived at the library with a scoop filled with lemur feed.

However, the lemurs didn't notice the feed as they continue tearing the library "The lemurs don't seem to care" Graham said "That's weird...wait at the zoo, the bell rings before the food came out" Cody explained as Graham picks up a tablet "I'm sure I can synthesize a bell noise. Boulder, can you amplify this?" Graham asked. Boulder amplifies the bell noise from the zoo as the lemurs saw the scoop filled with lemur feed as they run towards it "That worked a little too well" Graham muttered.

"Boulder, reverse. You can't let the lemurs eat all the treats before we lead them back to the zoo" Cody explained "I have to go slow. I don't want to back over anything" Boulder replied "Way ahead of you or should I say right behind you" Heatwave added as he clears a path for him then Chase appears "Boulder, if you choose to run red lights. I will not report you" Chase said as he joins Heatwave while Boulder slowly drives in reverse.

Heatwave and Chase continued to clear a path for Boulder as Chase stops an incoming jeep "Stop citizens" Chase said "Um, animals have the right of way" Heatwave added as Boulder and the lemurs passed them. Meanwhile, Dani and Blades were still looking for the lion "Bad news guys, I found the lion" she said "Shouldn't that be good news?" Graham added as Cody noticed why. "Not where she found it" he said as the lion was heading towards the lemurs "Hurry, Boulder! Or the lemurs are gonna be lion chow" Cody urged.

While a few the lemurs made it to Boulder's scoop as the lion leaps towards them, however Dani and Blades caught him "Woah great catch, guys!" Cody exclaimed "Ha, you know what they say 'eighth times the charm'" Blades added. They arrived at the zoo and put the lemurs and the lion back to their exhibits "I never knew recycling could be so dangerous" Cody said then Graham notices something "Hey, someone cut the power to these cages" Graham explained as Boulder transforms into his robot mode "I thought it was part of the adoption process" Boulder explained.

"And the Mayor Luskey Enclosure will make certain our town's beloved crossed—eyed lion stays where he belongs" Mayor Luskey explains as he chuckles, and everyone applauded. Cody turns over the tv that he, Hot Shot, and the Rescue Bots were watching "Whiskers was too much to handle. Still, it would be nice to have a pet" Boulder explained "Yeah, I know how you feel and so does Dad. So, we got you something to practice with" Cody added as he gives Boulder a potted plant "For me?" Boulder exclaimed and retrieved it "Come on, boy. Let's go outside! Wanna play catch?" he asked as he leaves the room. "I don't think he understands the whole concept of a 'pet' yet" Heatwave said.

"Let this be a lesson: Don't choose wild animals as pets especially lions" Hot Shot said.
