[Farmer In Danger]

Bryan let out a content sigh as he leaned back against his farmhouse. His eyes closed, shoulders relaxed, and a smile on his face. He took in a deep breath, relishing the sweet cold air of the night as he let out a long exhale through his mouth. He didn't have to open his eyes to know that his breath turned into a bit of mist, that quickly evaporated into the wind.

It was a good day today. He watered and trimmed the crops, refilled the machinery with oil, made a new pie. Everything seemed wonderful at the moment...

And then he heard it.

ZAP!

ZAP!

Grrrrrooooaaaaaan.

ZAP! ZAP!

Bryan seemed to slowly peek his eyes open at that, hearing his electric fence go off and some... other strange noises.

His eyes suddenly snapped open as he realized what that noise was. How could he not?!

It was a biter!

Bryan felt his eyebrows furrow, his face hardening as he leaned off of the farmhouse wall. Those darn walkers! Coming up on his property.

Pulling out his pocket pistol, he gripped the handle tightly with his gloves- now calmly walking down his porch stairs and to the walkers near his fence. It was just near his gate too. "Darn zombies, get off my land!"

With a huff Bryan swiftly aimed his gun at the zombie's head- only for the zombie to drop dead at the other side, limply falling to the floor.

The farmer let out a confused hum, looking down at his gun with a conflicted look. He, didn't even press the trigger.

The boy looked back up, soon hearing footsteps lurk up to his gate- before it suddenly opened. Revealing a figure- more than one! Who appeared to be people. But Bryan couldn't see their faces, it was too dark and the light only shined his way. But, he did see this- mask. It had four eyes, spider eyes, and they glowed a neon green his way.

"Well howdy strangers!" He greeted politely, putting away his gun as he walked up to the figures. "I must thank you kindly for your sharp aim, these darn biters never usually come up this far up on my land." He huffed, trying to make conversation.

He didn't seem to get a reply, which only made him feel... uneasy.

He ignored it, and went to speak anyway, a smile still resting on his face. "Well, what brings you all on-" He never got to finish, the only thing he saw next was this- dark figure of a bat come swinging down, right on his side.

And this was no normal bat. It had nails spiking out from top.

Bryan suddenly let out a loud scream in pain as he felt the pins dig deep into his side, he hissed in discomfort- shoot... wait, shoot!

Quickly, briefly ignoring the sharp stinging pain in his side- he quickly drawled out his gun, aiming it at the stranger's head- only to let out a screech, feeling the bat be ripped away- leaving him to be shoved onto the ground, his pistol flying out of his hand and sliding onto the dirt ground nearby.

Bryan was left curled on the grass, slowly bleeding out by the looks of things.

The farmer blearily gazed up, his vision turning more spotted and dark. "D-Don't... I-I can't..." He couldn't focus, he could barely speak...

But he could as clear as day register the bullet that shot in front of him. Hearing one of three figures suddenly yelp out in pain as his side was grazed by the bullet.

Soon after, he heard footsteps begin to race into the distance. Becoming more faint. He could hear the familiar voice, of a strong and commanding male, say: "And stay out!"

Even if he was fading in and out of consciousness, he knew, it was Colonel Ironwood.

Bryan lets out a hiss in pain as he feels his side, balling his hand up- which was wet, and dripping with blood from his fingertips.

He heard footsteps begin to quicken and rush over to him, he heard the gate door slam shut- and who he assumed to be Colonel Ironwood fall to his knee's beside him.

"Bryan! Are you alright?" The Colonel asked, his eyebrows furrowing as he saw the state the farmer was in. He didn't look so good. And if that wound was anything to go by, then this. Definitely wasn't a good thing.

Bryan let out a small chuckle, and immediately regretted it afterwards as he yelped. Curling up a bit on his side where the wound was. This hurt. A lot. "Heh, I-I'll be honest with ya' Colonel. I'm not feeling so dandy." He informed, his voice sounded weak and faint too.

Colonel Ironwood let out a frustrated noise, clearly worried and agitated by Bryan's state and those survivors that harmed him. Bending down further, he rested his hand on Bryan's back. Gently trying to sit him up- Bryan let a hiss in pain once more, whimpering a tad as he was sat up.

Thankfully, the Colonel seemed to soothing rub his back a bit, which made the pain a little bit less painful. "You're safe, just rest for now." Colonel stated, sounding firm and reassuring suprisingly.

Knowing he would be in safe hands now, he let the sound of sleep slowly drift into his mind. His vision becoming more dark and fuzzy by the second.

Quickly after, he was out like a light. The last thing he was greeted by was the strong and warm embrace of the Colonel.
