Davids Pov
------------------------
I was watering the garden with my son, Plant. When I heard a scream, it wasn't one of anger like usual but rather one of fear, it wasn't loud but it was close.
Without thinking I ran after where I thought I heard the scream come from. Only to see a certain water mage fighting a giant serpent in the distance. Were all of our guildmates on missions? I already knew that the guild masters were at a meeting.
I started to build a path of ice seeing as the damn sea snake was huge, and oh shit! Lucas just cut the damn things head off!
He swam up to my ice path as it was in his way of getting back on the island.
"Uhhhh, mind explaining how the hell you did that?!" I said incredulously, looking at the water mage in shock.
I knew he had gotten stronger, but I didn't realize he'd gotten THAT strong!
"Oh! Hey David, uh- well I kinda thinned my water until it was a razor-sharp slash attack." He said somewhat sheepishly, I mean I can see how he did it. It was the same concept as my maker magic, and not only that but water has been known to wear down the stone with enough time, so armored flesh wouldn't be too hard to cut through...
I was lost in my thoughts so lost that I hadn't heard Lucas yelling at me for the last ten minutes.
"David!"
"Oh shi- sorry didn't mean to space out just was thinking about stuff."
"You okay man? You've been spacing out a lot lately." He said a hint of worry in his tone.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just have had a lot on my mind lately. What about you puddle?" I asked using the stupid nickname I gave him during the first two days of our meeting.
"I've been good. But there's something you may want to know." He said a glint of emotion passing through his eyes.
"Oh really now? And what would that be raindrop?" I asked both teasingly and curiously. I wondered what he wanted to tell me, to be honest, Lucas tends to have secrets but he's rarely open about them.
"Sooo, I may have confessed to Blake recently." He said with a little grin and stared at the ground shyly for a bit.
"Oh, that's cool-. Wait, WHAT?! YOU ACTUALLY DID IT?!" I was shocked, I didn't think he'd go through with it.
Wait did she reject him? Oh no she didn't I swear those two have been dancing around each other for weeks. If she did reject him I'm going over to her house and slapping so sense into her, and even then I still need to talk to her.
"David! You're doing it again man!" Lucas said exasperated, was obviously annoyed now, and didn't look like he wanted to continue the conversation anymore.
"Oh, sorry. Got lost in thought for a sec." I said truthfully.
"Okay man, I think Imma train for a bit. Wanna join?"
"Nah, I have some business to take care of first."
"Ah, alright then, have fun!"
Will do Lucas, will do.
I walked from my garden to Blakes home and rapped on the door. It took her a second to answer the damn thing but she did get it.
"Oh! Hey David! What can I do for you?" She asked politely.
"Inside, please." I wanted to have this conversation away from where people could easily hear.
"Oh! Yeah sure." She said as she ushered me in.
"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" She asked, an eyebrow raised in question.
"Lucas confessed to you, correct?"
"Uh, yeah. Why are you asking me about it?"
"Did you reject him?" My tone had hardened slightly at the question and my eyes had narrowed.
"What?! No! Of course, I wouldn't! I like him too!" She said instantly. A wave a fury had rushed into her eyes when I asked the question.
I let out a loud sigh of relief and scanned her facial features to see if she was lying in any way.
"Good! He likes you a lot Blake, so don't you dare hurt him. He may be a stupid puddle sometimes but the guy has been like a brother to me and I don't want to see him heartbroken because of you. So please at least try not to hurt him." I said the last part in a slight pleading tone to tell her I was dead serious about this.
A look of sincerity crossed her face and she gave me a look that said she was just as serious about him.
"I really like Lucas, David I would never intentionally hurt him, and if I did I'd kick myself hard for it. He's way too nice a guy to do that kind of thing to and I promise you right now that I won't hurt him." Her eyes were strong-willed and at that moment I knew I could trust her with the person I consider a brother.
"Alrighty, then I'll trust you for now." And with that, I left without another word.
The End
