Chapter Eleven Part Three: The Final Chapter
Over the course of the next two days, the Nightwatchers have been training non-stop. They have been practicing combat techniques in simulations, exercising to their limit, and now they're ready for their battle in Bethlehem.
As Dart stepped onto the warplane to leave Blackout, he put on a parachute, as they were going to be dropping to the ground to battle Genesis and Satan. The rest of the team followed suit and equipped their parachutes as well.
"You ready?" Bullet asked Dart. "I've been ready," he replied confidently. He seemed fine on the outside, but he was so full of fury and rage, his hands were shaking. Fang hugged Dart tight, hoping they can all walk away from this alive. They sat in the seats lining the wall of the plane and strapped themselves in.
Once they arrived, there was a swirling, demonic pit placed on the ground, hell-spawns crawling out at an exponential rate.
"No," Thorne muttered. "We're a day early. We were supposed to prevent this. FIRE!!!" he shouted to the pilot. "Launching Projectile One," he declared, pressing the button. The missile landed right in the middle of the hell-spawns, dispersing them and killing a couple dozen.
"FIRE!!!" Thorne ordered once again. The pilot declared the launch of Projectile Two and it had the same effect.
"It's not working. We're dropping down. OPEN CARGO HOLD!!!" he ordered. The back of the warplane opened and the Nightwatchers, T.H.O.R.N.E soldiers, Thorne, and four people Dart hasn't seen before, one of them being Plague, all leaped, ejecting their parachutes and landing safely.
"Who are those people?" Dart asked Throne once they all landed. "The Four Horsemen of Death," he replied.
They approached the pit which Genesis shot out of, landing on the ground and making a sizable crater.
"Puny humans," he called. "We will make this world better, superior to all other species. He has shown me the way to eternal health and life."
"SHUT UP, YOU DICK!!!" Dart screamed as he started to shoot his mini guns at him. Rogue jumped higher than a normal human due to his exo-suit, smashing Genesis's head on the way down. Once behind him, Rogue shot dark matter beams, which seemed to have a major effect. Fang ran at Genesis, firing her heat vision and trying to get close enough to poison him. Bullet circled him at high speeds, all the while punching as hard as he possible could. Traverse took to the skies, then shot down at Genesis, stabbing him in the shoulders with his hand-blades and screamed loudly directly into his face, making the seismic waves do critical damage to his ears. Throne ordered his soldiers to focus fire on the hell-spawns, keeping them away from the Nightwatchers and Genesis. Plague turned into a poisonous green gas and killed as many hell-spawns as she could. The other three people did amazing, cruel, nightmarish things to the rest of them.
Then, a huge rumbling split the ground, making all fighting stop. A huge, red giant rose from the pit: Satan.
"Oh, my God," Dart muttered. Genesis chuckled, blood streaming down his body. Grunting, Satan smashed his fist into the ground, sending dirt everywhere. He picked Genesis up and gripping him tightly.
"Mr. Tucker, thank you for your service." He then smashed Genesis unto the ground, betraying his villainous partner.
"YOU HAVE MY BROTHER!!! I DEMAND TO KNOW WHERE HE IS." Dart ordered, looking up at Satan, satisfied that his parents' killer is wiped off the face of the earth.
"Oh, poor, poor Drew," he mocked. "You want him back? Go get him!" At that, he chucked Drew across the sky, nearly breaking the sound barrier. There was no way of saving him without Drew suffering from fatal injuries.
"Traverse!" He nodded in response, teleporting hundreds of yards ahead of where Drew was in the sky. He spread his wings, bending gravity itself around him, therefore cushioning Drew's catch. Traverse gripped him tightly and placed him in the warplane safely, ordering the pilot to take him far away.
"You cannot stop the inevitable," Satan stated. "No, but you can KICK ITS ASS!!!" Dart threatened. Satan simply chuckled in response.
"The only way to beat him is on our home turf," Thorne told Dart, thus giving him an idea.
"HEY, SATAN! COME DOWN HERE AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!" Dart challenged, hoping to reveal a weakness among strengths. Thankfully, Satan did shrink down to an average man's height.
"Fine, in the name of injustice," he said. Satan split into several versions of himself, giving each of the enhanced someone to fight.
Dart charged at the original, sliding in between his legs and sticking darts right under ipthe kneecap and directly into a spin center. He had learned quite a bit about the element of surprise recently. Dart used the strength of his mechanical suit, accuracy, and miniguns to take him down.
Fang cut her duplicate's legs off with her heat vision, then walked over and started pounding and his face and eventually dug her thumbs into his eye sockets, poisoning him.
Bullet zipped behind his enemy and kicked him in the crotch. He then went to the front of his duplicate, who was now doubled over, and kicked him square in the nose. After beating him up beyond repair, Bullet finished the job and snapped his neck.
Rogue used the force of his exo-suit to where his enemy down and ended him with dark matter beams.
Traverse flew straight at his opponent, stabbing him and pinning him against a boulder, screaming so loud, the head and boulder exploded.
Thorne and the Four Horsemen all defeated theirs with ease. Once they were all done, the versions of Satan all merged with the original.
Panting and grunting and pain, Satan muttered, "You won't be able to keep me down for long," then disappeared down into the depths of hell, never to be seen again.
Everyone celebrated the end of this meaningful battle, knowing subconsciously that He would return. But, in the present, none of that mattered. What mattered was that Damon got his revenge and all would be fine.
"Hey, kid," Thorne said as he approached Damon. "How would you like to become an honorary member of T.H.O.R.N.E? Your friends get to be here, too." Damon thought for a minute, considering this could turn into the rest of his life. Wouldn't be a bad one. It would be a life full of adventure, victory, and protection. "Absolutely." he replied, smiling.
