Chapter Eight: Heaven Has Fallen

Once they arrived, they were immediately amazed. Zachariah explained to them that in Heaven, you see only what you love and seek. He told them to ignore it and follow him to Drew.

Dart saw his parents, greeting him in open arms. It practically killed him to ignore it, but he managed to walk away while trying hold back two waterfalls of tears. Fang saw her boyfriend from school whom she liked very much. Bullet saw his wife, trying to give him his present. As curious as he was, he moved on. Rogue saw his sister, who was closer to him than anyone else in the whole world. But he had to disappear off the map and abandon her for the CIA. Traverse saw his fallen brothers, lost to Lucifer years ago. He ignored them and kept walking to the Protection room that Drew was in.

Almost a minute later, their world around them started to crumble. Everyone stopped in their tracks, wondering what the hell was happening. Traverse looked behind him at the rest of the team.

"You need to go! I'll handle this." Before they could protest, he teleported them to some abandoned warehouse. A man was just waiting there, staring at his new company. Traverse went away, back into heaven. "DREW!!!" Dart called. He fell to his knees, knowing he might never see his brother again. Bullet rushed over, comforting him while looking at where Traverse had been.

MEANWHILE, IN HEAVEN...

Traverse looked around at his home. Each time something was destroyed, darkness took its place. Armageddon, Traverse thought. You've come early. Before doing anything, he rushed to the Protection room and checked on Drew. Nearly a mile away, he ran into hell-spawns. They were the creations of Lucifer, meant to bend to his will. They were not as powerful, but they could still land a punch.

There were dozens. They could sense that Traverse had a major involvement in their plans, and they were ordered to kill him as soon as they laid eyes on him. Traverse stared down at his enemies below him. With all his might, he centered his seismic wave on their commanding officer. He slowly descended, glaring at the one in front of him.

It tried to punch him in the face, but the angel was too quick for him. He caught it, crushing the knuckles and breaking the hand entirely. It shrieked in pain, put was quickly killed by the large sabers that emerged from the backs of his hands. He lifted up the impaled demon, and made a kabob out of the other demonic souls. A berserker tried to charge him, but Traverse sent the largest sound wave he ever made at him. The screaming never stopped, and it only slowed it down. It was taking its feet and digging them into the ground, slowly making its way towards him. Eventually, lava started leaking from its ears, and the explosion of its head soon followed.
There were several dozen more left. He was fighting with all his might, carving them up and impaling them and dropping them from miles high. He fought for hours on end, fighting for his brothers, fighting for his Father, fighting for Drew.

Once he was done, his suit was burnt, torn, and ripped in several places. Exhausted, he continued his journey. He finally reached the Protection room. He opened the door and let himself in. The Protection room had holograms of the people that make the people within feel more comfortable. Traverse searched the room, not finding anything. Worried, he searched once more, this time for clues leading to where he might've gone. He found a letter written in blood on the wall:

END THIS WAR
BRING THE BOY
TO WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Furious, Traverse screamed all across heaven, making seismic waves so loud and painful, even some fellow angels cringed at the sound. He fell to his knees, acknowledging his failure to protect the brother of the boy who is supposed to stop Armageddon. He took to the skies, where he could get some fresh air. But he wasn't only trying to clear his mind. He was seeking the help of God.

MEANWHILE, ON EARTH...

Damon got up and turned to the mysterious man. "Why are you here?" he demanded. The man grinned. He started to slowly walk forward, hands behind his back. "Don't worry," he said. "I'm here to help." The man held out both hands, when suddenly, arrows appeared in them. He sent them both flying at Dart's face, aimed directly at his eyes. Dart caught them both, the points of the arrows mere inches from his eyes. The man then turned to the rest of the team. Dart dropped the arrows, clattering against the hard, concrete floor. They then disappeared.

"Impressive. I need you all to enhance your senses. I refuse to do it for you." Bullet scoffed. "Who are you, exactly?" The man turned to him. He held out his hand. A gun appeared, which he shot at Bullet's head. He used his speed to step aside, watching the bullet slowly come across his face at eye-level. He reached out with his left hand and grabbed the bullet with his index finger and thumb. Bullet cancelled his speed and turned to the man, holding up the bullet.

"You each have special abilities," the man said. "You just need to control them." Rogue looked at him suspiciously and asked,"Who are you? I don't think any of us can trust you if we don't know who you are." He looked back at him. "The angel Zachariah trusted me enough to let me be left alone with you, so isn't that enough?" When Rogue didn't answer, he knew he had got him good.

"Now, I'm going to work with each of you individually and at the same time. And yes, it is possible. Observe." As soon as he finished that sentence, he started to multiply. Soon, there were four of him, each pairing up with a team member.

Dart's clone pulled him aside and said,"Your aim is outstanding. It's always a perfect bullseye when ever you throw your projectiles. Now, here's the thing: I became suspicious of your abilities, so I dug deeper into it. You, my friend, are a mutant." Dart froze and stared at him. "It's a lot to take in, I know, but come on. You had to have known something was off, didn't you?" No response.

"What we need to work on is your leadership. You need to guide these people; to inspire them. They're all going through tough times and all you're doing is giving orders. You have to make them trust you entirely. Give them someone to look up to. You need to come together as a team. These people are mindless drones, not doing a very good job if they don't know what they're doing. Now, who's going to inspire them, to keep them in check?" Dart looked him in the eyes.

"Me," he responded. His partner gave him a thumbs up and disappeared into thin air.

Fang had a little more work to do. Her duplicate told her, "Noelle, you obviously have special talents. Heat vision, camouflage, regeneration, poisonous touch. You already know how to use them. Now, you just need to know how to control it. He backed away from her, smiling. His hands rose, and in front, and in front of her spawned a square of steel, a motion-sensing sentry gun, a knife, and a potted plant.

"What am I supposed to do with these?" she wondered. "That, madam, is how you will demonstrate your abilities." She understood now. She picked up the steel and started to burn it with her heat vision. It melted away, molten metal dripping to the ground. Before it reached her hands, she dropped the square onto the ground, closing her eyes tightly.

Once she recovered from using her heat vision, she made herself invisible and walked cautiously in front of the gun. Once the duplicate knew her abilities had been demonstrated, he removed the sentry. Fang then picked up the knife. She gripped hard, then stabbed herself in the stomach. She quickly removed the weapon, gazing at her now closing knife wound. Her trainer then mended her suit, then she moved on to the last demonstration: poison.
She knelt down and looked at the flower in the pot. So beautiful, so colorful. She touched her finger to one of the leaves, watching it wilt away as the infection spread to the rest of the plant.

"Now, let's learn how to control your abilities, shall we?" he said. He raised his hand once again, and the four objects appeared once again. "Now, using this metallic square, I will show you how you can control the temperature and power of your heat vision." He spawned a piece of paper in his hand and held it up. He used heat vision of his own, but his froze the object. The lasers turned blue.

As they gradually turned yellow, the piece of paper began to thaw. Then, the lasers turned red. The piece of paper evaporated in his hand, eventually crumbling away. "You can make them have no temperature at all," he continued, confusing Fang. "They can be used simply as a light." He shot white beams from his eyes directly between her eyes, startling her. He snapped his fingers, and suddenly the whole room became dark. He moved the lasers around, illuminating the room once again. After snapping his fingers once more, the room lit back up. "Now you try."

Fang attempted to do as she was told, learning quickly and performing the action swiftly. Amused, he said, "Now, for your camouflage. You can deactivate your molecules and atoms, allowing your body to pass through solid objects. All you have to do is concentrate." Fang closed her eyes tightly, trying as hard as she could to become untouchable. When she was sure she had done it, Fang walked up to the gun. She walked forward, feeling hollow as she passed through it.

"Since there is nothing to be improved in your ability to regenerate, we will pass on to the next test: poison," he said.

She knelt down by the plant, imagining it crumbling down to the ground, decaying. "You can control what area of the object will be poisoned," he said. "Try it now." She reached out and touched the leaf, thinking of only that leaf dying. She had succeeded in her task. Satisfied, her trainer disappeared. Now, on to Bullet.

"Keith, your speed is beyond the basic human's comprehension. Why don't you demonstrate it for me?" Bullet spread his legs to shoulder length, looked down and started vibrating. Eventually, he started to split into two, and soon enough, there were two of him. When he looked up, he merged with his clone. "According to Harrison Wells in The Flash," he said, "that was a speed mirage." The clone of the man applauded.

"I have found a way to make you faster than you could possibly imagine." Bullet chuckled. "I'm pretty fast already," he responded. "But I'm listening." In front of Bullet, glowing blue soles the exact size of the bottom of his shoes appeared.

"What are these?" he asked. "Those," he said, "will make you go faster. Go ahead, step into them." Hesitantly, he stepped into the glowing blue soles. Instantly, he felt a sharp jolt of energy. He could feel electricity and adrenaline soaring through his veins. Excited, he ran around the room a few times and came back to where he was before. His few laps took 0.0001 seconds. Once Bullet got used to it, his clone disappeared as well. Rogue's training was very beneficial to him.

"Finn, you need an upgrade," he told Rogue. "I'm good, thanks," he replied. Then, his duplicated partner explained to him how two pistols, a jacket, and night vision goggles were not going to help him against what's coming. He then whispered something in Rogue's ear that made him interested. An exo-suit then appeared on Rogue's body, quickly replacing what he had as a suit before. The whole thing was grey metal, but there were black lights shining from several square spots on it. Those lights could shoot enormous dark matter beams, making the object it shot implode on itself. A mask covered Rogue's face, and a design of a skull was imprinted onto it. It had straps that reached back to the core of the suit itself, which was on the back of the whole thing. It had a grey metal shield guarding it in the vent someone tried to disable it. Rogue's new weapons were metallic knuckles and dark matter beams. Once satisfied, the clone disappeared, and the original man spoke up from the middle of the room.

"Everyone happy with they're newly found abilities?" he asked. "Yes," they responded in unison. "Good," he replied. He asked them all to join hands with him, and suddenly, they were all in some abandoned warehouse in eastern Florida.
