Chapter 7: The Worry
Miss those original chapters from my Garroth x Reader? This book could be for you. Wonder what used to be in between the areas that are currently deleted? This book is for you. Want to laugh at the shoddy production quality and plot of the old chapters? This book is definitely for you.
From chapter 7 onwards, you now have the opportunity to revisit 2016. Use your powers wisely.
________________
You woke up feeling well rested. Very well rested. In fact, that's the best you had slept since you arrived in Phoenix Drop. You felt so relieved, so excited about the day. You walked with a bounce in your step, up the stairs, humming a joyous tune.
Once you were upstairs, you realized that you woke up earlier than normal. The village was still dark, but that didn't stop you from being happy.
***
You opened a chest with ingredients for your breakfast. Since you were in such a good mood, you wanted to use those ingredients to bake bread instead. You felt like giving, you wanted to go around the village and introduce yourself to everyone, you wanted to share the bread.
You had a furnace in your house (it's medieval times, what else is there to use?), you decided to use it to make the bread. You pulled out the wheat, and realized it needed to be made into flour.
I guess I'll just make something else instead.... Who knew bread could be so much work? I really need to work on my baking skills...
Oh, whatever, I'll just sit around. I can still introduce myself to everyone in the village! I guess I have to wait until a good time. I don't want to wake them up.... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to talk to me right now.....
You lay on your (color) couch and stared out the window. The village seemed at peace. In fact, it was so peaceful that you fall back asleep.
***
A few hours later you woke up again.
I fell back asleep.... What was I even doing?
Garroth! I completely forgot about Garroth!
You rushed out the front door, down the gravel path, through the plaza, down by the wheat fields. You realized that you ran too far, and started to back up.
Oh! The guard tower is back that way! I guess it's hard being new... Good Job ____, you passed it.
You rushed backwards down the gravel path, but you were stopped when you ran into someone.
"I'm so sorry! I was just in a hurry, let me help you." You said sympathetically.
You looked up to see that you had crashed into Dante. You were both in a rush.
"No, it's me who should apologize, I was the one running."
"What do you mean? I was running." You insisted.
"Okay, we were both running."
"Where are you heading?" You asked.
"The guard tower."
"Why are you going?"
"I kinda live there."
"Oh, I forgot about that." You said embarrassed.
***
You and Dante walked inside the guard tower. Dante went into his room upstairs and pointed to Garroth's room. You walked over to it.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Can I come in?" You said towards the door.
There was no reply.
"Are you even in there?" You asked him. "If you aren't, I'm leaving."
You walked out of the guard tower disappointed. But you didn't let it get in the way of your happy mood.
Garroth is probably somewhere else.
You kept walking along the path, being the most optimistic that you could have been.
***
There was a grave decorated in diamond and gold blocks. A sign labeled it as "Ungrth".
You noticed someone lying on the ground, knocked out in front of the grave.
"Laurance? No!" You ran up to him.
All you could do was hope that he would wake up. He looked knocked out cold.
"Laurance.... Wake up... Please?" You softly whispered to him.
He's not going to wake up on his own. He need to be sheltered!
"Help!" You kept repeatedly shouting. You didn't know Laurance very well, but the thought of anyone feeling pain, wasn't a good topic, especially since you were in such a great mood.
You heard running and quickly whipped your head around.
"Help is coming!" Aphmau shouted to you.
Soon enough you saw Aphmau running down the path. She ran up to you.
"I-I just found him like this, is he going to be alright?" You asked her.
In a few seconds, she had recognized who it was. The color drained from her face as she took him into her lap.
Laurance! Please! Someone help!" Aphmau shouted.
She was supposed to be the one helping you. Now she needs help?
Somebody you didn't recognize came running down the gravel path. She ran up to Laurance, and helped you and Aphmau to take him back to the guard tower, and into his room. You seemed to be going to the guard tower a lot now.
***
You, Aphmau, the new woman, and Dante were all crowded around Laurance in his room.
"Ugggh" Laurance groaned.
"Laurance, please don't leave me." Aphmau said after she noticed that he woke up.
"Leave you? Heh, you'd have to do something pretty stupid for me to ever consider that... oww.... Where am I?
"In your room, I found you unconscious."
So did I...
"Unconscious...? That doesn't sound like me... GAH! My head really hurts! Whoever knocked me out--- ...wait... Knocked me out...? ...... GARROTH!
"Garroth hasn't been here since the peace started." Aphmau said to Laurance.
"Wait? Garroth hasn't been here?" You felt your heart drop.
"NO! LORD APHMAU! GARROTH TOOK THE AMULET FROM ME!"
Your body ached and you felt sick.
"Laurance, you're delusional right now."
"Look into my eyes Aphmau. Garroth took the amulet. He knocked me out and took the amulet from my pocket... Lord Aphmau, I have no idea what he's thinking, but as long as he has the amulet he's a target for Zane's onslaught. We need to find him. NOW!" Laurance was shaking.
Why do they keep talking about this amulet? What peace? Who is this girl across from me? Wait.... I think I recognize her.... That's Lady Katelyn the Fire Fist. She's in the Jury of Nine. Jury of Nine..... This isn't good! She works for Zane! Someone has to do something!
"Um...who is the girl across from me? Sorry, I'm new here." You asked.
"That's Katelyn."
Your expression dropped and Aphmau must have noticed because she added:
"It's okay, she dropped out of the Jury of Nine, she's on our side."
You felt relieved. Now you could get back on the topic of Laurance. Oh yeah. Laurance.
"Garroth... Why? We need to get to Kenmur, his invention can help us find Garroth faster." Dante said.
Who the nuggets is Kenmur?
"Let me help look for Garroth with you.... If he took the amulet, I've got a bad feeling about this." Katelyn said.
"Okay, let's go. Laurance, if you are feeling well enough, you should come, too." Aphmau told Laurance.
You, Katelyn, Dante, a librarian named Emmalyn, Kenmur with his invention, Laurance, and Aphmau, ran down the path looking for Garroth.
"Wait, wait. Dante, I need you to stay here and watch Phoenix Drop." Aphmau said.
Dante agreed and he stayed at the gates, guarding Phoenix Drop.
"Dante, I'm trusting you." Aphmau looked back at him.
She ran to catch up with the group.

When Laurance first wakes up and is talking to Aphmau, I didn't write this, Aphmau (or Jason) did in her Minecraft Dairies series. However, when your character talks, I did write this. Don't give me most of the credit.

Anyway, this is present me. Technically past me as I'm typing this a few seconds later, but whatever.
This was an edited version from 2015 of the original chapter seven. The first one was way worse and is long gone.
