Ch 9: The Secret
"How do you know he isn't going anywhere?" Aphmau asked you.
"I-I don't. I just hoped he wouldn't leave. I really don't know what he's going to do." You said while looking at the dirt covered ground.
"I'm worried about what will happen. Who did you say he was there with?" She asked you.
"It was another man. He wore a cloak. He had black hair and light blue eyes."
"Zane." She said angrily.
"Who?"
"It's-Its a complicated story. All I can say is that he is a bad, and I mean a bad man. Evil, even."
"I-I-I need to go..." You said. You got up and started running back to where you saw Garroth.
"____! Wait!" Aphmau shouted, she turned around towards the direction you started running. "____...not again.." She muttered under her breath.
You ran back through the woods. Tears were streaming down your face as you passed each tree. You stopped running and wiped the tears off your face.
They can't see me like this...
You continued running further until you heard faint voices and you could recognize the area as where you had been earlier.
You stopped behind the same pine tree as before.
Where did Garroth go? No... He couldn't...Where is he?
You peeked around the tree again. You only saw the same cloaked man and...a woman? She looked familiar...
I'm-I'm insane... Where is he?
"So Zane, what should we do with...you know" -she gestures her hand towards a clearing in the forest- "The body" she whispered.
That... That clearing, it-it wasn't there before. Where did it come from? What body? No...
You couldn't fight the sick feeling you had.
"Just leave him for now. We mustn't forget he's there. We have other matters to attend to." This so called 'Zane' said.
Other matters...to attend to?
Zane and the new woman suddenly were engulfed by a grey cloud of smoke. The cloud soon faded away, and the two people were no where to be found.
What Magicks is this?
You stepped out from behind the tree and walked at a cautious pace towards the new opening. You saw a supposedly 'hidden' lever on the side of a dark oak tree.
You debated if you should pull the lever or not, but before you knew it, curiosity had gotten the best of you and your hand was placed on the cold wooden handle.
What do I have to lose? I want to know what this does...
You pulled down the lever.
You turned around to the sound of the logs hitting the floor. Dark oak logs had closed down behind you, leaving you trapped in the opening.
This explains why I didn't see this earlier...I wond-
Before you could finish your thoughts, the block below you got pulled in by a piston and you dropped down.
You let out a shrill shriek as you fell.
All too soon to process what was happening, you landed in a small pool of water that broke your fall.
You had landed in a small unlit room. You turned around and saw a body on the ground, that was leaning up against the hard stone wall. The body's chain armor had a black cross on the front. His eyelids rested closed.
It's-It can't be.
You looked around and saw his helmet lying on the ground.
"Garroth?"
