Story: The year is 2021 when Ethan invites Erica over to his and Mia's new house for dinner. Erica arrives after Ethan puts Rose to sleep, and Chris Redfield storms the house, shooting Mia dead. He knocks both Winters siblings out and takes them along with Rose.
The siblings wake up in the snow, right next to the overturned cargo van that was holding them. All the personnel that were to guard them are dead, and Rose is nowhere to be found.
The siblings head for the nearby village and fight lycans on the way, exploring and scavenging what remains of the seemingly abandoned houses. They meet an elderly man in his home while looking for survivors, who gives them each a handgun before being picked off by the lycans. They explore more and find a radio that broadcasts a village-wide message, telling every survivor left to go to Luiza's house.
The siblings do so, and on their way they meet an old Hag which informs them that Mother Miranda has kidnapped Rose. The siblings see a castle in the distance and decide to begin their search for Ethan's daughter there. They explore more and find a girl called Elena and her sick father, the former pleading them to find a way into Luiza's house. Ethan and Erica kill the remaining lycans lurking in the village, then unlock Luiza's gate to let Elena and her father in.
When they're settled inside Luiza's house, arguments arise, until Elena's father Leonardo succumbs to his lycan-inflicted cut and turns mad. He kills Luiza and the rest of the survivors in the house (save for Iulien who had gone to patrol), with Elena, Erica and Ethan just managing to get to the garage and block him off as the room goes up in flames. They search for a way out, opting to bust down a wall with an old truck and taking to the stairs. They head for a window in the attic.
Leonardo comes after them, and Elena, who realises her father isn't completely gone yet, jumps down to him. They both fall into the fire, leaving Erica and Ethan alone once more.
The two escape through the window and leave the house just in time to witness Mother Miranda killing Iulien. Before they can confront her, she leaves, and the old Hag meets them again to giddily exclaim that death has visited them all.
The siblings open the doors that lead to the Castle and make their way to the side entrance before being stopped by Karl Heisenberg, a man who can manipulate metal by harnessing energy from the electromagnetic fields in the air. He knocks them both out, and takes them to a meeting with Mother Miranda, where they encounter the Four Lords of the Village for the first time. 
Mother Miranda decides that the "manthings" are in Heisenberg's care, the latter giving the siblings a ten second headstart to run before sending lycans after them. Ethan and Erica narrowly escape death by his machinery and get back to the outside world, resuming their main mission: storm the castle. Before they can, they meet the Duke, who introduces himself as a humble merchant for their every need. After an introduction between the three, and a wish of good luck from the Duke, Ethan and Erica finally enter Castle Dimitrescu.

If we just take a beat to think, we can get Rose back, make life better for this family, and we'll both get happy endings. With House Dimitrescu fighting with us against Miranda, we can beat her.
Ethan: Erica... This is real life. I don't think this is gonna go how you want it to.
Erica: Once Alcina sees that Daniela likes me, and that I make her happy, she will help us. We'll be part of the family, and the only blood shed is Miranda's. If she has any blood. Please, please think about it.

Ethan: Erica, you're gonna blunt your knife on those damn things!
