The Day (Jax
My day started off normal enough. I woke up and pulled on a blue T-Shirt, a pair of dark blue jeans, and a pair of black Jordans. I checked my neck for my half-heart necklace. It looked like a waterfall behind glass. I looked out the window of my 3rd story room. My parents where the owners of Nelson Co. (though I preferred to go by my own surname Janus) a company that makes laptops. They got rich off of it and adopted me later on. I have brown hair and grey eyes. I wasn't much of a fighter like my adoptive father had hoped I would be. I could control water and had taken more to brewing than fighting. I still knew how to fight, I just wasn't as good at it. I stuck with potions. I smelled waffles and smiled. My adoptive mother was making breakfast. I headed down the stairs, grabbing my satchel as I went. It was worn leather and contained my potions stuff and my knife. The knife was more for tactical fighters. I wasn't very strong and didn't have a lot of experience fighting and was more of a thinker and mediator so the knife was perfect for me. I was good with it and it was needed with the mythical monsters roaming. Especially the hellhounds. They where of higher quantity in the Ku-Kai region. Especially in the town of Pakeeso's woods. Once I reached the bottom of the steps I was greeted by the sent of waffles, orange juice, and bacon. "Good morning", my adoptive mother greeted. "Morning Mom" I responded as I sat down at the table. The food was already laid on the table. I piled up my plate with 3 waffles and 2 slices of bacon, then proceeded to fill my glass with orange juice. I paced myself decently but the food was so good that it was gone in around 5 minutes. "Well someone was hungry" my adoptive father stated. I laughed. "I'm going to be collecting ingredients out in the woods today to make my potions. I'm going to need my energy. There's going to be a lot of walking and maybe even some fighting. The hellhounds have been getting more populated." My father nodded. "Be careful Jackson" my mother said. I flinched a little at the use of the name. It was my full name and I always felt a tug of sadness when it was used. I didn't know why. It was like the memory was cut out. It must've been a really young memory since my adoptive parents had adopted me I was just a small (very small) child. "Oh. Jax I'm sorry I forgot" my mother said. My face must've shown my sadness. I needed a better hold on my emotions. "It's ok mom. I don't even know what the memry is. It's fine." My mother looked un-satisfied with my answer. I picked up my plate and rinsed it off in the sink. "I'm going to head out." I said "See ya in a couple hours." I walked out the front door and stepped onto the porch. On it was a box wrapped in cyan wrapping paper. There was a card. I read it and it said Happy Birthday Jax~Mom and Dad. I opened the box and in it was a new knife and some rare potion ingredients. I held the knife in my hand. My hand seemed to fit perfectly around the handle and it wasn't to heavy or to light. It was perfect. I opened the door and called out "Thanks Mom. Thanks Dad!" I closed the door again and put the new knife and the potion ingredients in my bag and started towards the woods. On the way I passed the bakery. I felt drawn to it for some reason. My necklace grew hot and snapped me out of my trance. The necklace cooled back down and I shook my head. I headed back off towards the woods. This was my life and I loved it. But very soon it would all change. But I had yet to figure that out.
Lily's POV
I was shutting down my laptop having finished writing the first chapter of my current book and needing to help Mr. Maifer with the baking. Suddenly I felt the need to exit the shop. And my necklace heated up. I started moving to the door, then, as soon as the need to go outside started it stopped and my amulet cooled down. I shook my head. That was weird.
