Appearance: Blue scales that change colors in the light between purple and dark green (Like the Aurora Borealis). Her head fin is actually supposed to be one fin, but she tore it in order to hide the sharp bone-like blade that is meant for combat, she was able to do this because she can't feel pain. Nobyl's eyes are green, though one is damaged, hence the purple eye patch that she had sewn into her skin. The bandages on her arms actually hide another set of sharp bones that she files down in order to look less intimidating. She has two tears in her main fins, one small, the other having a piece of netting to make up for the gap that she also had sewn in. Though she's a Beta she's much bigger than what her species entails. Compared to most females she's lengthier but not bulkier, though much faster due to her lack of internal organ weight (this is explained in Background).

Personality: Somewhat shy, and often stays away from other mers. She's not worried about others making fun of her eye patch or tattered back fin, she's more worried about people hating her for what she is.

Likes: Swimming in the moonlight, especially on a full moon (it makes her scales sparkle). She also tends to collect blue things left by divers or in ship wrecks, sometimes rocks and such, being a little vain in her natural beauty, but only to herself, never around others.

Dislikes: She hates the fact that she's naturally drawn to combat. Being a Siamese fighting fish has it perks, but this is not one of them. Sure she could easily win, having been in several fights before but she doesn't want to fight. She also hates those who ridicule her for what she is...

Background: Nobyl is not your typical mer. She claims to be 33 because that's when "the change" started, in 1986 (based from 2019). She was originally just your typical pet Beta, but the Chernobyl incident changed that. She began to grow, change to look like, and have the mental capacity of a mer, but it also changed her looks to have the flash of a male, though naturally if a  Beta male had gone through "the change" they'd have wider fins. Combat qualities were also added. Of course, this doesn't mean that everything changed. Her inner anatomy stayed the small regular Betta size, meaning she's constantly snacking. 

Nobyl doesn't have a real goal, maybe to find someone who doesn't hate her for not being an actual mer, but overall she simply travels, hiding from those who know what she is, and often staying away from any and all mers.

Nobyl's name: She chose it herself after hearing a water proof radio make it's last announcement, only hearing the broken words of 'dissaster' and 'Chernobyl'.
