*Third Person's POV*

"Have you got your bag?"

"Yes dad..."

"Have you got pencils and pens?"

"Yes dad..."

"Take a plaster too- No in fact take the whole box-"

"Dad I am going to school! Not on a battle field!" The annoyed teenager couldn't help but tell as the dark-haired male pulled out a whole box of a First Aid kits.

'Since when is he so...Overprotective..?'

Smiling slightly, Tashihiro raised his hands up in surrender at the blue-haired girl.

"Apologies!"

'He changed a lot in these ten moths... Is this even normal?!'

It still felt very unusual for Mai to see her father in such 'caring' and 'cheerful' state, it actually kinda scared her because it was dangerous...

He nearly burned the house down five times because he 'refused' to let Mai cook anymore. Which ended up with an awkward lecture from the cloud-eyed girl.

After getting herself ready for the day, she fixed the straps of her bag, hanging on her shoulders as she soon faced her father, awkwardly standing in front of her.

"Well I guess..." Tashihiro's voice trailed off as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. Huffing in surprise as he received a tight hug from his daughter.

"You know... I love you dad..." Murmuring the sentence in his ear as her gripped tightened around his waist. The male's identical to the one of his daughter grey eyes widened as he heard the word he thought would never be audible enough to reach his ears after everything.

'I love you dad.'

Slowly returning the embrace, Tashihiro couldn't help but let a smile twitch up on his lips. His chest felt warmth that he has abandoned years ago. Guilt started to suffocate him as he pulled away.

Giving Mai a thumbs up he said the first thing that came into his mind.

"You're gonna do great."

Smiling in return, Mai waved at him with her left hand as she exited the house. Walking with a small smile as she crossed the road, it might not have looked like she cared much but on the inside she was really eager to meet her new classmates, but at the same time anxiety clouded some parts of her mind.

What will they think of her? Will she even be strong? What if people would laugh at...

Shifting her gaze on her right 'hand' she clenched it into a fist as her eyes became more... determined.

'Shut it Mai! It will go alright, you need to worry about actually paying attention to them. I can't space out so much anymore! It can have a lot of bad consequences in combat.'

Her posture became more confident as she neared the large school gates.

The acceptance of U.A High's hero course is less than one in three hundred every year. Other than the four people admitted through recommendations, forty are admitted through the regular exam.
Those forty are split into only two classes, with twenty in each.

Every time the rules were repeated in a regular pattern. And this year was no difference.

'Class 1-A... Class 1-A... Where is that again..?'

Looking around the rooms, Mai looked up while her eyes widened slightly at the size of the door.

'Just who are my classmates? Titans?! Why de heck is the door so huge?'

Swallowing all the comments in her mind, she pushed the door slightly. Resulting in everyone's eyes landing on her awkward figure. Lowering her back slightly she couldn't help but let a dust of pink embarrassment flush her cheeks.

"Sorry for interruption..."

Ignoring all the stares, she quickly found her assigned seat. A floating, glowing screen with her name on it above the seat disappeared as she sat down.

"Don't put your feet on the desk!" A male student with half-rim glasses yelled at the ash-blonde boy, whose feet were on his desk.

"Don't you think that's rude to the UA upperclassmen and the people who worked to make that desk, Katsuki Bakugou?"

A smug smile grew on the blonde's face as he turned towards the boy.

"Nope. What junior high did you go to? You side character?" The smug smile soon turned into a smirk.

The dark-haired boy's gaze turned towards another figure not too far from Bakugou. Her head laying on the desk as her short blueish hair were shadowing her eyes.

"This request goes towards you too! It is very disrespectful to behave in such way by using studying desks as your relaxation or the lack of sleep if you have a bad sleeping schedule!" The boy scolded Mai as she slowly regained her posture, bangs revealing her right eye as she looked at the male in pure boredom. Her lips forming into an 'o' shape as she looked around, just realising that the boy was addressing towards her.

"... Did you say something? Sorry I wasn't listening."

The boy's eyebrow twitched as he tried to repeat himself, but was rudely interrupted by the red-eyed blonde.

"Hey aren't you the one who was one of the top students to pass the entrance exam?!" Bakugou snarled as he stood up and walked closer towards the girl. Now standing right in front of her as he tried to glare holes through her skull.

'What was his name again... Bakugou I think... He seems quite irritating with all that fired up yelling.'

"This means that among the freshmen you are the one that has gotten the same score as me on the exam right? So if I beat you then I will be the best student in the whole year right?!" He leaned closer towards Mai's face as she just stared at him. Their noses nearly touching while an imaginary lighting sparked between the two.

'But I have to admit. He is hot.'

Her look didn't seem too careless but it didn't show any interest in such declaration either. Putting on a small smile, she turned her head towards the square-jawed teen from before.

"I apologise if I offended you. May I ask your name please?" Completely ignoring the fuming blonde in front of her.

Nodding slightly the dark-haired boy regained his posture as he addressed her. "I attended Somei Private Academy. To your both curiosity my name is Tenya Iida."

Smiling kindly in return, Mai felt rude by not introducing herself properly.

"It's nice to meet you! My name is Saito Mai-"

Before she was rudely interrupted by Bakugou who had a mocking grin glued on his face.

"Somei? You're a damn elite, huh? Looks like I will have fun crushing you." Bakugou addressed.

Gasping, Tenya backed up a few steps. "Crushing? That's cruel. Do you truly aim to be a hero?" He questioned Bakugou in horror as the blonde plucked his tongue and averted his gaze from him.

Bakugou turned his attention back to the indigo-haired girl, eager to crush her as she didn't meet his expectations one bit. His eyes widened slightly as he noticed the seat he was standing in front of was now empty.

'Where the hell did she go?!'

Mai looked around the classroom, looking for an actual teacher at least.

'Huh, well it could have been worse I assume-'

She interrupted by crushing into someone AGAIN. This time however she managed to knock out the poor person on the floor. Looking around for any injured people, Mai's eyes landed on a familiar freckled boy who sat on the floor due to their little crash.

Standing up, Mai walked towards Izuku while offering her hand to him. With a gentle smile she managed to pull the blushing mess up.

"I am sorry! I have a problem of not looking where the heck I am going."

'She seems very... nice I guess'

"It's alright! Um I am Izuku Midoriya it's n-nice to meet you!" The poor boy stuttered out.

'Oh wait. So his name wasn't Deku? But how come...' For a split second her eyes landed on Bakugou. Sighing, Mai decided to just sheug it off, instead offering Izuki another smile.

"My name is Saito Mai. It's nice to meet you properly!"

Izuku couldn't help but return the same smile. 'She seems very... Calm.'

"Good morning!" Tenya greeted Izuku strictly as he marched towards the boy. "I am from Somei Private Academy. My name is-"

"-I heard!" Izuku interrupted while waving his hands in front of him frantically. Tenya froze in place as Midoriya introduced himself with sweat running down his forehead.

A few seconds later, a girl with short brown hair came running into the classroom. A large smile formed on her face as her eyes landed on one specific person.

"Oh that curly hair! You're the plain looking one!" Said the girl, while she stood outside the entrance. "I'm glad I found you! You made it, just like Present Mic said!" She fist bumped while continuing to throw phrases at Izuku.

Mai just stood there smiling slightly to herself before she felt a tap on the shoulder. Turning around she saw the same brown-haired girl from before, her cheeks were dusted in pink which made her look even more adorable.

"My name's Ochako Uraraka! It's nice to meet you!" She leaned into Mai's face even more causing Mai to take a small step backwards.

"What's yours?"

"Oh. Right sorry, my name is Saito Mai. It's a pleasure to meet you too Ochako-San!" And so the three of them continued to chat along with each other.

"I wonder if today's just the entrance ceremony and orientation? I wonder what our teacher's like? Aren't you guys nervous?" Ochako kept rambling.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play being friends."

All three stopped talking and turned towards the voice behind them. They were met with a man with jet black hair with some hanging down in front of his face, on the floor the floor in a yellow sleeping bag.

"This is a hero course."

The unzipped his bag while standing up while stepping out fully out of it.

"Okay it took eight seconds before you all were quiet. Time is limited." He turned towards Mai who was looking at his sleeping bag. "You kid, stop spacing out or a drool will fall from your face. Get a life cause you look like an idiot." He said bluntly as Mai's eyebrow thwitched in annoyance while others comically frail their arms around her.

"I'm your home room teacher, Shouta Aizawa. Nice to meet you." He introduced himself while looking around the classroom.

'Is it bad that I thought he was a homeless person who sneaked into UA?... Nah I think it's fine.'

Aizawa then grabbed a blue and red with white square patterned uniform out of his bag.

"It's kind of sudden, but put these on and go out on the field."

He ordered while most students look at their teacher with confusion on their faces.
