*Third Person's POV*
"So Mister Saito,"
The judge spoke silently as the two males sat opposite of one another, the cold, harsh light of the room bathing into the Saito's eyes as he squinted them in annoyance.
The 'judge' adjusted his glasses as an awkward cough escaped his dry lips. From what the ex pro-hero could tell, the guy was definitely inexperienced and wasn't marked as a 'high rank' judge or-whoever the fuck he was.
"How was your first marriage terminated?" The man's question was playing with fire as Tashihiro sighed in frustration.
Ten damn years and Izumi still wouldn't calm down about the money that the two didn't end up tragically dividing between each other.
But of course she left the man with a child back then, why the fuck would he even need the money?!
"By divorce."
Tashihiro replies coldly. God what a nuisance.
"And by whose divorce was it terminated?"
"Take a guess."
With a moment of silence, Tashihiro inhaled deeply, calming his nerves as he just saw this whole thing a full load of bullshit. No words to decorate it needed.
With another annoying cough, the attorney fixed his tie.
"Mister Saito, your youngest child, the five year old one, how old was he when he past away?"
"He was five, much like your IQ."
::
How careless and incautious, what a stupid slurred smirk. The daredevil heavy hue of blush dusting her cheeks as her inhibitions flew out of a window.
'Damn what a disgrace Mai!'
Her ink coloured eyes twitched in annoyance, frustration radiating from the pit of her stomach as she began to start losing a care for anything in the time being.
'Overused so quickly huh? Bad quirk Mai, bad quirk...'
She glanced at her artificial arm, that was swooned over the shoulder of her invisible classmate to reassure that the Saito wouldn't fall over or even worse, gain an unbelievable pain threshold and do the most ridiculously things.
"MAI! HAKAGAKURE!" Yelled a worried Kirishima , running towards the two as they arrived to cheer for the Symbol of peace himself.
"Are you guys okay?" He eyed the blue haired teen strangely, her eyes focusing on the clumsy, red mess.
"Kirishima I think I know what happens to Mai when she overuses her quirk,"
With a nervous glance in return, the two watched as the girl stood up properly, her crooked posture straightening to the best extent she could manage.
"Watch it people! I'm completely fine—"
Her excuse of a voice muffled by a roar of a Nomu, storming towards them.
"What the hell are you doing?" Hissed a red eyed king of explodo-kills. Eyebrow twitching as the intensity of the moment was constantly suffocating each and everyone one of them.
Well there were obviously some individuals.
Scratching the wrinkled neck intensely, the urge too strong to hold in. The powder blue haired man glared at the tall figure on the opposite side, his minacing smile intensifying as a white hand kept it hidden from everyone's view.
His eyes glazed over at the What used to be a pathetic excuse of a student but now resembled a drunken mess.
"Do YOU know how many times my hair fell into dirt in the past f-five I mean ten minutes?" Her slurred speech only made it more annoying as her hand kept on grazing through her short blue hair.
But nevertheless, Bakugou couldn't help but notice how there were some papers falling out from her bandage wrapped hand.
'Does this weirdo carry that ugly ass paper even on her arm?'
Clicking his tongue, Bakugou proceeded to shift his gaze at the ugly creature that managed to match the strength of All Might himself.
The trembling ground danced as the creature's heavy stomps banged against the earth, becoming louder and louder as the Nomu got a grasp of All-might.
Eyes shifting to the toxic purple mist that was about to wrap Izuku, who without realisation couldn't peel his eyes off.
"Deku, you do realise that—"
With an audible gulp, the Saito searched for any pieces of paper while squinting her eyes in annoyance. A gasp leaving her features as her eyes widened in jolly realisation.
There were papers left from the impact of her previous hit, scattered catastrophically around the freckled boy whilst being covered in dirt, probably from being crumbled and stumbled upon by everyone.
Within seconds, the absurd idea popped in her head as within seconds the paper laying close enough to Midoriya turned into the Origami obsessed student.
Shifting from a simple piece, just as Mai's hand collided with Izuku's shoulder through a mere feather's touch, both of them became nothing but a shambles of papers, as if mocking the toxic wrap hate.
Midoriya gasped for air as the two re-appeared near by the surprised red head.
With a relieved expression, both turned to Mai as she slurped on her knees in relief.
A short laugh escaped her dried lips as she glanced in awe and shock at the frost quirk of her classmate, seeing as the monster who aimed at them was half frozen in place.
Todoroki Shoto was truly powerful.
And the fact that he wasn't even using his quirk's full potential rose excitement and fear even in someone as breathless and bone tired as Mai.
Just when All Might managed to leave the grasp, a smile formed on his face as he glanced at the worried students.
"I'm just fine, Young Midoriya!"
Mai glanced as Bakugou held his hands tightly around the metal 'neck' of the wrap gate, to which by sure if it were normal the neck would have been broken to shreds already.
"Kurogiri, our exit entrance has been overcome. Were in pinch." The blue haired villain murmured as his intense gaze burned through the hero's skulls.
Bakugou smirked as he saw right through the excuse of a villain, the wrap gate itself was merely a hiding place for his real body. Exposing the idea of how neither his nor Kirishima's physical attacks worked against his previous form.
"DON'T MOVE!" Bakugou's yell echoed through the bluenette's head as a small set of explosions was set from his arms onto Kurogiri's neck brace. Bakugou's smirk growing wider than a full moon in result.
"Saito, is everything alright?" Midoriya asks as sweat of anxiety ran down his forehead, his green eyes shifting back and fourth to make sure to have a close eye on everyone.
With a shaky breath, Mai ignored the red hue painting her face as she made fan-like gestures with her left hand while her right hand laid suspiciously still.
"Oh, I will be fine *pant* don't worry! Just, just give me one more second," She breathed out as sweat looked down her figure, however it seemed a lot more faded than before. Tomato red cheeks beginning to melt back into their peach like colour.
Eyes more focused as she catches her breath one last time before standing up.
'Alright, no more strength. It's either long range or straight up combat—'
Everyone's eyes widened in shock as the half frozen monster started to sink back into the wrap. Once he re-entered from another, Mai couldn't help but gulp as she stared as half of his limbs were ripped off from the ice.
'S-such an injury... He looks like a walking corpse.'
"Even though his body is completely broken, he is still moving?" Midoriya observed while backing up to create more distance.
"GET BACK EVERYONE!" The symbol of piece warned. His hand held up protectively.
Impossible.
It was unthinkable.
No genetics could handle more than one quirk per user.
It didn't make sense—
"Nomu has been modified to take you at one hundred percent. He's super efficient human sandbag." Just as the red eyed villain chuckled, everyone got into a fighting stance.
"What are we gonna do? He has a hostage!"
"We need to wait for other heroes to arrive!"
"Just hold a little longer!"
"HIRO NO—"
The train of thoughts was broken as a loud hush of wind blew into people's faces. An impact so powerful caused Mai's attention to flicker towards the ground that was destroyed.
"DID BAKUGOU DODGE?!"
Her yell matched the one of a Nomu's roar as she felt a mountain crumble down her shoulders once she spotted the blonde not too far away.
Yet once the mist cleared, a figure of All Might, panting and glaring at the criminals.
'That's enough I need to concentrate properly for Gods sake this is definitely not the right time!'
"These guys are crazy! But if we backup All Might we can push them back!" Kirishima points out before All Might raises a protective hand or decline.
"NO! Run away!"
A small smile of pure disbelief formed on Saito's lips.
'Is this what they mean by... Nostalgia?'
Despite 1-A's protests, they held no right to vote as the blue haired villain declared the set of instructions towards his comrades.
"Nomu, Kirogiri get him. I'll deal with the children."
By daring to glance, Mai kept a notice that the villain held very dry skin, that he seemed to itch a lot despite hands hovering over his body and face.
Everyone was interrupted by the cruel force of fist fighting the Symbol Of Peace and the Nomu performed. Their attacks and hits way too fast for the naked eye's view to catch.
The scene changes to the two being in mid air, as the Nomu strikes back with a jump attack. However he was met with a failure as he was grabbed and thrown onto the ground.
"Holy shit,"
Did that mean that All Mights hits were so strong and so many that the Nomu couldn't even have enough time to regenerate? This power was truly maddening.
"We need to go."
Most heads snap towards the paper girl, who kept her gaze on All Might, flickering to glance at the insane indigo haired villain once in a while.
"If at least one of us becomes a hostage it will not end nicely."
Eyes wide, and mouth agape she watched as Izuku limped towards All Might with all the power he had left. His screams were addressed towards the villains as he aimed to punch one of them, only to be millimetres away from a hand that could decay his body within seconds.
With a gun fire shot, she flinched at the noise. As Mai turned around she couldn't contain the wide grin twitching upon her face.
"Sorry everyone!" Echoed Principal Nedzu's voice "Sorry were late! I gathered all who were immediately available!"
::
Everyone was gathered around the police car, outside of the USJ gates. The slight breeze calming so many nerves down all at once.
"What happened to Thirteen and Aizawa-sensei?" Mai's voice caused a remorseful frown cover Ochaco's features.
"Aizawa-sensei was severely injured during his battle with the Nomu." She whispered the last few words with so much sorrow. Oh God how Ochaco wished she could've just protect the ones who she cared for so badly.
With a look of sympathy, Mai gently touched the girl's shoulder, making her glance up in the process.
"You did so well Ochaco, I heard that if it wasn't for your help Aizawa-Sensei's health would've been a lot worse!" She swung her 'paper' hand over Ochaco's shoulder gently, grinning as she saw a small smile dance across Uraraka's lips.
"Thanks Mai-Chan, but next time I'm gonna do a lot better!"
Mai could only watch in pure adoration and awe at the glistening chocolate eyed beauty. With a sudden chill of pure terror, the girl's face turned pale from fear.
'I FORGOT ABOUT THE MATH HOMEWORK DAMN IT!'
::
How frustrating.
The sound of his breathing kept on warming up the black mouth mask he wore for his own benefit. His usual attire changed into a matching black, oversized hoodie to hide his identity better.
He fixed the piece of fabric on his face to let him breath, as he observed the busy shopping streets around him. The sickly peach sky only intensifying the warmth he felt in such dark clothing.
The constant jumping between Hosu and Musatafu was really starting to become a bother. His thoughts flickered to the idea of settling near by.
Just for a week.
Running his hand through the pitch black spiky hair, the male entered the one cafe that was located right at the borders of the street.
It felt a lot calmer and silent without the appalling crowd constantly walking back and fourth.
He entered the caramel painted shop before sitting down on one of the furthest tables near the window. The large glass window portrayed the calming downfall of the golden sun as it's last rays tried desperately to blast into his face.
"Hello, can I please get your order?"
His head snapped towards the voice. He looked at the waitress through squinted eyes. The first catchy thing about her appearance would probably be her hair colour.
It was a very royal blue colour and matched well with the current lighting of yellow. But when he took a closer look he noticed the dark eye circle or either a black eye -he couldn't tell- but in either ways the waitress seemed way too not bothered as she glanced at the man in irritation and impatience.
The man's half-lidded gaze was a pure reflection of his tiredness and the lack of need to deal with bullshit itself. The barely visible purple patches of skin underneath his eyes glimpsing once in a while.
"Sir, what would you like to order?"
He could tell that the voice of the snotty waitress was a lot more irritated.
And he noticed how there were barely any costumers seated. Was it because of the late hours? A holiday? An event? A tragedy?
He couldn't really care less unless it involved topics he was interested in.
"An Indian filter Kapi."
With a nod the male was surprised as the order seemed to arrive within seconds. His vibrant blue eyes shifting around only to see the bratty girl from before sitting on a table not too far away, with books and highlighters scattered around it like rubbish.
He noticed the inadequate face she made as she looked at what seemed like mathematics.
Pulling the suffocating dark fabric down, he drank the hot, bitter liquid before feeling the slight breeze from the window hit his face. The way the hot liquid dropped down his throat made him sigh in distress.
Checking his pocket the man checked it to find it empty, identical to his second pocket to which he sighed in acceptance.
What was forgotten at home is forgotten. Oh well,
Standing up, he decided to leave without attracting too much attention. Unfortunately he was stopped by the same waitress, he read the little label on her blouse saying 'Mai' which -he assumed- was the name of the worker.
"I assume the coffee was so good that you accidentally forgot how to pay for it?" Despite the bitter sweet smile anyone could tell the displeasure lacing her tone which gave out that she wasn't that friendly.
"What you're gonna do if I'm not paying?"
His chilled tone made the girl close the exit door gently before raising her eyebrow in mockery.
"Well then I don't know where you're leaving because you have dishes to wash to pay off."
Her eyes gouged into the one of the male who was clearly taller than her. Arms crossed as she leaned on the exit door just to press her point further.
"I will help you."
"What?"
"I said I will help you with the math question as a payment or I could just leave right now."
With a fake thinking face, the girl's black eyes sat still in thought for a second. Eventually nodding in agreement the two sat down as the mysterious man scribbled down the working of the algebraic equation, not too long afterwards with the final scribbles of the answer he put the pen down.
"I like your piercings."
This time it was his turn to tilt his head in confusion. Before the Mai gestured with her fingers to the sliver stripe nostril piercing as she tapped her nose.
"You know, you could've just drank your coffee normally. Costumers like you are quite common here and our staff doesn't care what job occupation you take."
She stated in disbelieving manner before scanning through the answer with her eyes. She genuinely couldn't care less what the hell the dude scribbled.
After today's encounter at the USJ, the only thing she was ready for was a nice, short sixteen hour nap.
And plus, Alchemy was located right on the border of where the beginning of criminal deals was held. The streets next door leached with pocket thief's and illegal travellers.
"You see I'm not exactly an average costumer, Mai."
Mai's eyes glanced up at the male who was standing up from his chair, her eyes dragging towards the tall figure that was opening the caramel framed, glass door.
"Alright then stranger you're free—"
"Dabi."
"Huh?" Noticing the confused gaze, the guy smirked before glancing back at the confused waitress, right before stepping out of the cosy building into the lilac coloured evening,
"The name's Dabi."
::
MaiFact: Mai had to skip a whole school year because of the actions she committed after she found out her parents were divorcing.
