*Third Person's POV*
"Alchemy...?"
Shoto turned his head at the girl next to him, his gaze casting questionably towards Mai who just shrugged in reply.
"I don't think the name is suited for a place where people eat. Alchemy is the medieval forerunner of chemistry, concerned with the transmutation of matter, in particular with attempts to convert base metals into gold or find an universal elixir." Quirking an eyebrow, Todoroki stared at the label in wonder.
A sweat drop formed on Mai's head as she gripped Shoto's hand a bit tighter, gaining his attention in result.
"You're right but... Did you know that's not the only meaning? Alchemy is also a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination." She lectured back before letting out a sigh of relief as a familiar scent of coffee beans reached her.
Entering into the building, the two were nearly hit by a plate flying towards them.
"I AM SO SORRY!!"
Yelled a female voice as Ayame burst into anime tears as she started to shake the poor boy in front of her.
"DID YOU GET HIT BY THE PLATE?! ANY INJURIES-Oh hey Mai!- WHAT ARE THIS BANDAGES ON YOUR EYES!?" The two winced at the high-pitched voice but nevertheless smiled, both had different reasons to smile.
"It's nothing... Can I just wait here for someone Ayame?"
'WAIT! Wait, wait wait wait... The hand holding. The awkward guy. The blushing mess... DON'T TELL ME...' Ayame's eyes widened as sparkles appeared in them.
Yanking Todoroki's hand, the overexcited blonde left the poor girl walk around the area blindly.
"Oooh are you the... BOYFRIEND?!~" Her eyes pierced expectantly into his soul, gently trying to pry off the strong grip, Shoto stepped back before tapping Mai on the shoulder.
"I guess you have someone to watch over you for now. I will see you tomorrow in class."
Before Mai could reply, the dual haired boy already left.
"Aaaw I wanted to take a picture!" Ayame whined as she held a photo camera in her hands. All long forgotten about the costumers she was supposed to serve she examined the bandages on Mai's face.
"What the heck happened to YOU young lady?!" She dragged Mai into one of the staff rooms and sat her down on a couch, tapping her foot expectantly for an answer.
"Well..." Tugging the edge of her skirt, Mai sighed knowing exactly how much explaining she will have ahead of her... And all the lectures afterwards.
::
"What kind of lessons does All Might teach?"
"Lend us some of your thoughts on what it is like have no the Symbol of Peace standing before you at the podium of education?"
"What is your opinion on All Might as a teacher?"
Mai tried her hardest to smile but her patience ran out the second one of the reporters nearly showed the microphone in her face.
"EXCUSE ME. Please excuse me, but I think you should leave. You are making the entering students uncomfortable and I am one hundred percent sure you shouldn't wonder around here."
As soon as the news of All Might becoming a teacher spread. The school has been surrounded with reporters 24/7. The amount of people could almost count as an attack since so many students are left terrified.
Well maybe not that harsh, but Mai was desperately trying to find a reason to kick them all from the school entrance.
The offer inside her head was more and more tempting as—
All the breath left her lungs as a yelp escaped her lips. Someone pulled her tie SO hard while yanking her to follow.
As Mai's skin was starting to loose colour, her vision blurred from suffocation as she couldn't even see properly the figure yanking her from the reporters.
"OI YOU FUCKING TRASH MOVE!"
Oh well. She knew exactly who this was now. No vision needed to notice the scowl on the male's face as he spoke to the reporters.
'Damn... This guy has a death grip...'
Just as the reporters were no longer visible to the curious journalists, Mai felt her back being slammed against the wall. The tie on her neck being pulled up so hard, that her feet barely touched the ground.
"Now listen you paper bitch—"
Bakugou's eyes widened as he felt a strong kick hit him right in his lower region. Without even realising it, he let go of the tie while scrunching up in pain.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, Mai untied the suffocating tie, coughing up all the oxygen she lacked with anime tears pooling from her eyes.
"What *cough* the hell is *cough* wrong with you!"
Sweat rolled down her forehead as the ash-haired blonde boy grunted in response.
Yet silence fell upon the two as each of them tried to catch their breaths, one from anger the other from coughing.
"You. You and that fucking nerd. I will beat the crap out of both of you! And tell that half-n-half bastard too, I'm going to become the number one do you understand!"
'What the... Is that the type of motivation for him? To become number one..?'
The scowl on the boy's face darkened as a glint of amusement played in Mai's eyes.
Gently dusting off her skirt, she walked towards him, once their noses were barely touching, he couldn't help but notice how much duller her eyes became.
"As a person, I really dislike you. However, I will respect your opinion because a 'hero' can have different definitions for everyone..."
Bakugou only scoffed in response. He definitely did not like the way she looked down upon him. Just who the hell dies she think she is? This wasn't the exact result he was expecting—
"But."
Just as the word escaped her lips, Mai pulled Bakugou's tie just like he did with her. The two now matching height as one usually glared down on another.
As the tie got pulled even harder, before Bakugou could realise a strong kick was aimed towards his shin.
The kick wasn't dangerous, but it wasn't a feather neither. A slight vein formed on his forehead as the same thought crossed both of the two teenager's minds.
'It seems as if the tables have turned...'
"If you really think that you're number one, then you're gonna have to start defeating your rivals... I don't know what an arrogant guy like you is used to, but threats like this don't work here."
And with an annoying smug smile, she gently let go of the scrunched up fabric.
Slapping Mai's hand away, Bakugou resisted the urge to just punch her right now. He didn't need the repetition of what happened during his fight with that 'nerd'.
And he definitely didn't seek for another lecture from their 'homeless' teacher.
With a 'tsk' he nudged the girl in the shoulder as the two walked out as if nothing happened.
The first one, lazily smiling at nothing in particular like a damn creep. The second scowling at any human being he noticed in his way.
No matter how tense it might seemed to others, the two held no discomfort walking near each other whatsoever.
Because both completely blocked out each other's existence.

"Now let's get on with the homeroom notices." Aizawa continued. "I'm sorry to have to spring this on you all but.."
The whole class stared at their homeroom teacher in anticipation, eager to hear what intense trial they're about to do next.
"... We need to pick a class president."
"Finally something school-like!" Everyone cries in relief. Yet soon the room was filled with raised hands of the candidates for the position.
Some turned their confidence into arguments and debates, conflict occurred since nearly everyone didn't want to loose the opportunity.
Thank God, that was stopped after Iida's splendid idea of settling with a vote.
Soon the votes were given, most voted for themselves, some voted for others.
Placing her chin on her palms, Mai started to silently swing her crossed, right leg up-and-down manner.
'Who should I choose...'
Her eyes searched through nearly every one of her classmates, of course she couldn't judge them so early, but she assumed that she will guess by the first impressions most of them gave.
Soon she found herself lost in thoughts, on who was she focusing again? Ah, Todoroki... But something told her that he wasn't the best when it came to socialisation with his classmates.
Her eyes became heavier and heavier as the relaxing light of the morning sun painted the classroom.
Just before she could fall asleep, her gaze landed on the freckled boy she spoke one of her secrets with.
A smile twitching on her lips as she knew who to vote for, yet her mind sparked up as the famous Iida Tenya added his vote already.
And she could tell by the expression he was wearing that he didn't vote for himself...
'Hmmm strange... I think Iida would suit the best for the role since he seems like the most responsible out of most of us and yet he still votes for someone else... what a shame!'
Adding her own vote, Mai proceeded to lay her head back down on her hands.
'Oh well, I don't mind giving it to Iida.'
However, in the end Izuku became the class president, while Yaoyaozoru became the vice president the of class 1-A...
::
'Strange, I though that Iida would get a lot more votes...'
Mai gently picked up her lunch after paying, saying a lazy 'thank you' in the end.
Her pace was quite slow, well she wasn't really in a hurry but a smile formed on her lips as she noticed her three friends chatting eagerly with each other.
'I bet the main discussion is going to be about the role of the class president... '
Ochako waved for the blue-haired girl before patting a place next to her for Mai to sit.
With a small grin, just when Mai was about to sit down a loud sound of an electronic wailing echoed through the hall.
'What in the world—'
"SECURITY LEVEL THREE HAS BEEN BREACHED. ALL STUDENTS ARE SENSIBLY TO EVACUATE FROM THE BUILDING." A robotic voice screeched through a microphone.
'No way anyone could've sneaked in!'
And in that second, normal school lunch flipped its tables in a chaos of panic...
