*Third Person's POV*

'Motherfucker... This hurts...'

The three stood like statues as All Might's voice broke the suffocating tension. Ice starting to melt as steam came out of the frozen water.

Todoroki's eyes widened when Mai still didn't let go of his hand. Her grip was just as firm as before, like she was holding onto him for her dear life. There was a small pool of red forming near her shoes, the same red liquid that flew with drops from her eyes.

'Did I... Is that blood?' Todoroki's eyes wandered to her face. Feeling slightly frustrated due to the bangs that were shadowing her eyesight for him to see.

"Saito-San! Are you alright!?" Ojiro's voice beamed as he ran towards her figure. Both males were surprised when Mai gave them a cheeky smile, before putting her right hand over her eyes.

"Yeah of course I am fine! Just... Just got something into my eyes. Yeah..." Her lies were translucent as the papers on her hand stared to soak a deep red colour.

"Saito-San you need medical help-"

"It's fine. I will bring her to the nurse's office-"

"I said I am fine! It's just... DUST." She waved off while letting go of Shoto's hand for evidence. Mai let out a small yelp of surprise when the dual hair coloured male adjusted his hand back in hers, this time he was the one gripping it tightly as Mai tried to shake his hand off.

'Despite using his quirk... His hand does feel warm... I guess... Maybe.'

"Are you sure?" Ojiro's voice held suspicion as he looked unsurly at the blue-haired girl. For a second, he swore he could see slight guilt in  Todoroki's eyes.

Of course Todoroki knew where the question came from, he was the one to cause the injury in the first place. It hurt that while using his mother's quirk he harmed a person during such thing as a combat lesson.

Heck, it couldn't even be counted as a real battle but it seems not everyone can leave without a scratch. But the look soon vanished as he nodded in Ojiro's direction.

While Mai was still trying to pry off her hand from Shoto's grip. Her attempts soon turned from desperate to comical as she felt sick in the pit of her stomach.

'Do I look that vulnerable to them..? Hell no! I can do everything perfectly fine without needing ANYONE'S help!'

Using the chance when Todoroki loosened his hold, she quickly pulled away her hand. Pushing the two as she carefully made her way towards the door, or so she thought.

"I am completely FINE. Thanks for the concern but I can walk by myself-" Tripping over her own feet, Mai fell face first into the floor. A slight muffled 'ow' escaped her lips before she stood up again. Her right hand still covering her eyes as she leaned on a wall for support.

Todoroki silently gestured for Ojiro to leave to which the blonde male hesitantly obliged to. "Alright then Saito-San. If you need help just tell me alright?"

Humming in response, Mai smiled before continuing to follow from the spot where she heard Ojiro's voice.

Slipping over a piece of paper, she was close to falling again, but just as she expected to feel the cold ground she felt herself fall into a pair of arms. Automatically, Mai started to back away before feeling her left hand being held tightly again.

"Just hold on to me. I will guide you." Shoto hand gestured for her to go straight before letting Mai go in front of him so it was more comfortable to guide her.

"I said it's fine-"

"No it's not. You are risking to fall off the stairs and injure yourself even more." With slight irritation, she obliged while feeling a few drops slide down her cheek. Wiping it off she tilted her head up, making no sure to hold her tight hand firmly on her eyes.

"You have a good aim." She spoke as the two were walking in silence. It wasn't really tense but neither too comfortable.

"And you have a good agility to jump in front of people in such short amount of time." He replied back. Mai wasn't sure if that was sarcasm or a horrible attempt to complement back.

"You were very reckless. A true hero shouldn't put others on such risks, and also themselves." He unintentionally scolded her as the two kept walking, once they finally arrived near the stairs, Todoroki stood in front of Mai while leading her slowly.

"Well I couldn't allow a comrade to injure himself while I am standing there... Ignoring him. He was my teammate so I had to make sure he is safe." She lectured back. Todoroki raised an eyebrow at her attitude, in the male's opinion, she way too stubborn to say at least.

"Why did those papers turn red?" He had an idea about her quirk but it was always better to ask and make sure the information is clear.

"Well I didn't really have much time to think which shikigami's to send..." Smiling sheepishly the two finally reached the end of the stairs.

"So you sensed the ones that took part of your eyesight since you saw the risk Ojiro was in?" He finished making the girl hum in agreement. There was another moment of silence after that.

"Now I am gonna miss all the other matches..." A sigh left her lips while smiling slightly when a thought crossed her mind.

"Hey Todoroki."

"Yes?" His eyes landed on her covered ones as the two were about to enter the room where all they're classmates were gathered.

"Do you mind informing me about the outcomes of other matches later?" She squeezed his hand slightly to gain attention. Once she couldn't hear a reply Mai sighed in defeat.

"So is  it a yes or-"

"Fine." He sighed as the two walked in, all eyes were glued at the two. Well more particularly at their hands that were holding each other.

"Mai-Chan! Are you alright?!" Ochako ran towards the bluenette a worried look on her features as she noticed the little drops sliding down Mai's cheek.

'Now I might need to get a new costume... Blood-stains are impossible to wash out!'

Nodding, Mai felt another figure approach her. Ojiro stood in front of her before shutting his eyes tightly while bowing his head.

"Thank you Saito-San! For saving me during our battle-"

"There is no need for the honorifics to be honest. But you are welcome." Giving him a lazy smile, she continued to try and find her way towards All Might.

"Uraraka, would you please help Mai to find Recovery girl's office?" Nodding, Ochako grabbed Mai'a free hand before giving her smile, only a second after realising that Mai couldn't see it she just sweat dropped while leading her out of the room.

As soon as the two girls were out of sight, some people crowded near Shoto before smirking at him.

"Damn it, one cute girl less now! You have a good taste Todoroki!" Denki beamed while Mineta nodded his head in agreement. The poor boy just looked confused as Momo whispered to Kyoka.

"They both look really flustered!" Rolling her eyes slightly, Kyoka smiled while mentally agreeing.

'Don't tell me... They witnessed everything?' Todoroki's eyes landed on the screens that showed the rooms and corridors the two walked through.

"I am sure you misunderstood the relationship between me and Saito-"

"Alright then! Let's get on with the next match!" All Might grinned before everyone turned back towards the cameras.

::

"Good work everyone! Apart from Saito and Midoriya there were no big injuries! For your first full training exercise you all did wonderfully!" All Might praised the class as all the battles have been concluded.

"To have such a proper class after Aizawa-Sensei's class... It's kind of anti-climatic.." Asui commented as she compared the two teachers.

Soon after, Mai came back from the nurse's office. She had a small chat with Midoriya on the way but when it came to Recovery Girl...

*Flashback*

"You've got VERY lucky young lady! Most of the time it would leave a scar at least but you are one lucky girl! I will have to bandage your eyes, and you have to stay like this at least until the end of the day. To make sure that infection won't get into your wounds."

Smiling in return, Mai assured her that Suki will come to pick her up after school. When she was about to leave with Ochako, a sudden change of atmosphere hit them. Turning slightly they saw Recovery Girl looking at them, scary aura surrounded her while she addressed Mai.

"You should value your eyesight. Don't go all reckless or you might hurt yourself even more!" Recovery Girl advised before dismissing the two.

*Flashback End*

Sighing in relief, thoughts of all the matches crawled into Mai's mind. With a slow speed, she walked lazily towards the classroom.

Slurping down in her seat, footsteps approached towards her as Mai tried to poke her bandages.

"Saito that was a really heated match there!"

"You and Todoroki-kun did a really good job!"

"How is your injury?!"

"Is your vision gonna be alright?"

Drowning in all the questions given, she simply smiled at them. Not realising she was smiling in the wrong direction making her classmates sweat drop.

"Ah yeah, Recovery Girl said it's fine. And thank you for the complement..."

Soon she managed to introduce herself to everyone, making occasional conversations here and there, it was quite entertaining to socialise so much. But she couldn't help but wonder where did Izuku go, nor that she really cared about Katsuki but remembering his expression from the first battle... He must be quite pissed.

As everyone started to leave, Ochako and Mai walked near the school gates before the brunette had to leave towards the station. Ochako wanted to accompany her blue-haired friend, but when Mai said that someone will pick her up she relaxed.

Knowing that her friend was going to be alright, Ochako proceeded to walk together with Iida.

Finally receiving a call, Mai nearly dropped it causing a struck of fear hit her when the phone nearly collapsed.

"Hello?! Mai?"

"Hey Suki, what time-"

"I am sorry! It seems my mom had to be sent to the hospital and I need to be there! I can come if it's urgent, so what happened I'm in a real hurry Mai so tell me if I should pick ya up!" Her voice was muffled while the connection kept on ripping through the sentences.

'Lovely...'

"Oh. Sure don't worry. It's nothing serious I promise, hope your mom is alright!" And just like that she hung up, sighing in frustration it was time to think of a plan on 'how to reach my house without accidentally leaving Japan'.

'Let's see... If I ask someone to tell me a direction would... Do nothing since I am have a good sense of non-existing directions. Maybe if I-'

"Isn't anyone coming to pick you up?" Todoroki spoke as Mai nearly jumped from surprise.

"Who the hack are you?! A ninja?" Her face pale while clinching onto her heart.

"Nope, but I know where I am going." She wasn't sure if that was an attempt to convince Todoroki or herself.

Another yelp of surprise left her lips as she felt some grabbing her right hand. Throwing a fist from sudden contact with her left hand, only for it to be caught with another hand.

"Come on. I will walk you-"

"I said I'm FINE." Persistently, she tried to shake Shoto's hand off, only resulting him having a tighter grip before taking her bag.

"I feel like you are trying to rob me..." An unexpected chuckle came from the girl as Shoto's lips twitched into a small smile.

'Well it's not like she can see me smiling or anything...' He wore the bag over his shoulder before turning to face Mai.

"Where do you live?"

'Should I tell him? Wait it won't matter since I don't have the keys, only dad has them but he is working right now. Let's see... I can't go to Suki's house since they are in an urgent situation there so... I guess there is only one place to go to.'

"C'mon then, I will tell you the directions..." Soon the two proceeded to walk further from the school gates.

It seemed alright at first, but soon a thick cloud of tension started to surround the two. Neither knew what to say but still had to hold hands together.

While passing by, both had slight blush dust their cheeks as people commented.

"Ah young love..."

"What a nice relationship!"

"Cute!"

A sigh of relief left both as they walked through a less crowded area.

"So why exactly have you decided to help me?" Fiddling with the edge of blazer, she waited for a response that didn't seem to arrive.

"... I feel responsible for the outcomes-"

"I told you it wasn't your fault."

"...No you didn't."

"Oh. Well I am saying it now." Mai grinned slightly as while explaining further directions for the two.

"Say, won't your parents be worried for you if you come back so late after school has already finished?" She could hear him sigh heavily before his pace slowed down.

"I am not in a hurry." His voice changed, it was way colder than before.

'Maybe he has a problem with his family... Oh well not my business...'

"I see then..." She replied with a nervous smile, she didn't exactly know how to get out of such awkward situations, them holding hands only made it more awkward for her.

"You know, it's not like you are a bad company but I think I can go on my own now." Slowly backing away, she could hear Shoto frown as he let go of her hand, catching the girl off guard.

"Alright then prove it." Stepping aside, he allowed Mai to have some space while he kept changing his locations. Sometimes standing right behind her while others in front.

"Pfft of course I can go on my own!" Waving her hands she tried to find something to lean on or find some orientation at least!

'Damn it... Now I don't even know where he is- Oh wait I think I found him!'

"See Todoroki I am holding you right now. You know you are much skinnier than I thought and so cold, like ice. Hey... Why are you not breathing?! Why are you just standing? Oh... I THINK I KILLED SOMEONE!"

Meanwhile Shoto was standing a little further from her, enjoying the comical scene.

'She is talking to... A lamppost..'

His lips twitched into a smile, he couldn't take it anymore, the scene was enough to make him laugh! Unconsciously, he felt a quick laugh escape his throat, for a second he was kinda glad that at least Mai couldn't see his embarrassed face.

A blush of embarrassment formed on Mai's cheeks as she heard the sound coming from a completely opposite direction.

'It sounds like Todoroki... Don't tell me...'

Walking in the direction of the pure music to her ears, she gripped onto his arm while a taunting smile formed on her face.

"Don't tell me you were laughing at me all this time?" Her voice seemed more hyper which wasn't something usual for both of them to hear. But who was Shoto to judge about 'not usual behaviour'.

"You know... I think your laugh is quite cute... I don't particularly need to see you to acknowledge that fact, you really should laugh more..."

Todoroki turned his head away, a small dust of pink covered his cheeks as his eyes drifted to his shoes.

"No it's not."

Grabbing her hand he kept going towards the destination she informed him  about a while ago. He managed to prove his point which meant that Mai still needed assistance, but for some reason the atmosphere wasn't so tense or suffocating anymore... No... It was silent but rather the type of comfortable silence.
