*Third Person's POV*

Todoroki was certain after seeing the indigo haired girl. She was a worthy opponent. But that's exactly what made him exited.

'I will defeat her.'

"Let the second battle begin!" All Might's voice echoed through the area, all the students gathered around the cameras, eager to see the battle and the outcomes.

"Step aside for a bit, I will end this quickly." Entering the building alone, he left Shouji to wait outside for the better.

::

The two looked at the nuclear bomb in front of them. Looking at her surroundings, Mai quickly coated the weapon with papers making Ojiro look at her weirdly.

"Um what exactly are you doing?"

It's not like he didn't trust Mai as a comrade, it's just that he himself didn't exactly know what her quirk is capable off. So to make sure both of them knew what was happening.

"Huh? Oh, I am wrapping it in paper bombs to make sure if the 'heroes' come way too close as our backup plan we can win some extra minutes if our heroes get too close to the nuclear..."

Her eyes widened when she looked outside to see Todoroki being the only one of the two to actually enter into the building.

'I see... The costumes gives quite enough information about his quirk... He might try freeze everything here or either just aim straight at us..'

"I need to cover the whole house with paper. Please wait here to make sure none gets close and if they do..."

Her gaze fell upon him, a serious expression on her face which was completely opposite of usual.

"...Run. I'd rather have to lose a battle than injure you. The papers will peal off and form into shikigami's to attack if Todoroki gets too close, but I can't promise it won't hit you too so make sure to make a safe distance. Alright?" Giving a lazy smile she disappeared into paper butterflies, leaving a confused Ojiro to look at the papers stuck on the weapon.

'Just how strong are the explosives?'

::

While walking, Mai managed to cover most of the insides in the house with explosive paper. Her eyes widened when she noticed Ice freeze the entire building in an instant.

'Dammit, I didn't have enough time to cover the papers on the first floor.' Cursing under her breath, she created some butterflies to look through each of the floors for Todoroki to appear.

"Saito-San! I-I think we might have a problem here.." Ojiro's voice rang through the speaker, his tone making Mai stop in tracks while quickly sending a few butterflies up the stairs.

"What is it? Are you injured?" Her voice responded to him. Sighing slightly, Ojiro couldn't help but hung his head in dissapointment.

"My feet, they are stuck in the ice. I don't think I can even move now...
I am sorry Saito-San..." Letting out a sigh of relief, Mai tried to calm him down.

"Don't worry, just try to warn me if Todoroki appears near the nuclear weapon. Can you do that?" She felt relieved that there were no major injuries yet so not to weight him she just asked for accurate observation instead.

"Got it." He replied before the speaker went silent.

Just as Ojiro tried to pry his feet from the ice a voice lured through the whole building.

"You can take a step if you like. Do be aware however that peeling the skin off the sole of your foot doesn't look good for your ability to fight." Todoroki commented as he proceeded to walk upstairs.

Looking down on her feet, Mai noticed that they were frozen into the ground, with one swift movement she dissolved into papers.

'Damn iiiit! Now I have to do most of the work...'

Noticing a piece of Origami, Todoroki tried to freeze it up, only for a few of the paper bombs underneath the ice to explode. Creating sharp ice pieces flying towards him.

As everyone watched through the camera screens, All Might pointed out, "He made sure his comrade didn't get caught in the attack, and he refrained from damaging the core. He even weakened his enemy's position. However..."

His eyes landed on the camera where it showed the ice pieces flying towards him from the impact of the paper bombs underneath the ice.

"Mai predicted such moves, it was a rough guess but she managed to find an advantage without making too much damage on the building."

Everyone watched as there was no sigh of the blue-haired girl, only paper butterflies surrounding Todoroki himself while the male tried to defend from his own ice.

Smoke coated the floor like a blanket, clouding anything from the male's sight. Just when the explosions stopped, Mai aimed a kick towards his head from around the corner. Noticing just a second before her foot could connect with his head, he grasped her leg but before he could do anything else she dissolved into hundreds paper butterflies.

Not a second later, the butterflies formed her as she aimed another kick from behind. And just like the previous attempt, before Todoroki could defend himself she dissaleresti into pieces of paper.

"She is playing with him!"

"Is she bluffing?"

"Why isn't she landing a hit on him yet?"

Numerous questiona rose from the students who watched with anticipation, eager to finally see who is stronger.

'She has something in mind...' Iida's eyes landed on the screen in the corner, his orbs widening as he realised what the bob-haired girl's plan is.

'She is trying to win time needed to help Ojiro!'

::

"You're quite good as a villain." Todoroki commented as he blocked another punch aimed for his face. And again before he could land a hit on Mai she disappeared into paper butterflies.

"Thanks I try my best to fit into a role." She aimed a kick behind him but Todoroki swiftly turned around only to see another crowd of paper butterflies in a place where Mai was.

"I am curious to how you managed to predict my previous move." He looked at Mai once the clouds of smoke cleared. His eyes widened just for a second when he noticed Mai floating above the ground. Paper floating around her instead of legs.

"Well to beat the enemy, sometimes you have to think from their point of view, right? So if I was a hot guy-I mean an intelligent guy with ice covering half of my body, what can I do to make this whole thing end quickly is to freeze everything up." Her voice held confidence while her eyes were half-lidded as a yawn escaped her lips.

'Dammit, this is taking way too much energy...'

Todoroki raised an eyebrow at her sudden change of behaviour before something clicked in his mind.

"Tell me... Is it exhausting to use so much concentration on every single paper and Origami that is currently around us?" He lips twitched slightly in a smirks as he noticed a flicker of worry in her eyes before they formed back to normal.

"Not really..." She trailed off while a specific butterfly flew up to her ear. Todoroki looked at her with wonder on his face.

'Is she talking to paper..?'

He didn't dismiss when Mai's eyes widened before she finally stepped on the icy floor. She stood fairly upright, guard high and arms extended while keeping her weight on the back leg with the front leg light.

'Why did she decide to move into combat out all of a sudden?'

As Todoroki ran at her, Mai easily sweeps him with a leg trip. After using an arm triangle throw she managed to distance herself from him. As the two run at each other again, Mai winds up a roundhouse kick to the side from her neutral stance.

Barely missing it, Todoroki created some more distance between the two.

'What is this fighting style? Taekwondo?... No. It resembles something more like... Muay Thai. She does excel me in combat so it's better to hold some distance in between.'

His heterochromia eyes scanned the surrounding as an idea popped in his mind.

::

"I never knew Saito-San was so good in combat?!" Denki commented as he watched the two. Most nodded in agreement, while Tokoyami shook his head in, making a few avert their attention on him.

"It was quite spontaneous. But it allows her to fight within all ranges such as defensive and offensive. She can create long-distance attacks such as the ones in combat. She knows how to use her quirk wise and well..."

Everyone continued watch with intrigue in their eyes as the next actions managed to swap the cards of the game...

::

"So is this how we are gonna keep fighting?" Todoroki commented as smoke again started to surround the two. After a few more attempts in close ranged combat, the two moved to long-distance attacks.

Mai swiftly aimed a couple hundred of papers towards the boy. Hardening the paper to make it stronger than steel and sharper than a knife as the pieces flew at him with an impressive speed.

Shoto created a large wall from ice, protecting himself from the sharp pieces as they got stuck into the wall.

Mai's eyes widened when she noticed the wall expand larger and larger, soon blocking her way completely from moving up the stairs.

"The ice is ten centimetres thick, I don't recommend for you to use fists against it since you are risking in breaking your hands." He commented as he proceed to walk upstairs towards the weapon.

Sighing in annoyance, she tried to punch it with her right hand.

'Well it's not like I have anything to break there, so might as well give it a shot.'

Punching the ice wall, she frowned when only half of the wall erupted into cracks but didn't even break. Of course using so much of her quirk plus all the combat did make an impact on her physical strength.

"Saito-San, Todoroki has arrived." Ojiro's voice beamed through the speaker as the girl's eyes widened in surprise before going back to their half-lidded state as she realised who the voice belonged to.

"Coming..." Despite the situation, her voice seemed calm and laid-back as she tried to think about few of the ways to break the obstacle in front of her.

'I can't blow things up like Bakugou in first round, that would be counted as too reckless. Most of my papers are scattered on my side of the wall...'

She glances at the mess near her with a twitched eyebrow before she tried it connect again with Ojiro.

"Ojiro, can you hear me?" She waited for a reply patiently as she glanced at the time she set once the battle began.

'Just less than a minute left...'

"Saito-San, he is already here." Ignoring the voice of disappointment, she quickly asked.

"Hey are there any of my papers around ya?"

"Yeah a few are still flying around for some reason, why-" His voice was interrupted by a happy Mai who turned off the audio before the poor blonde could understand what was happening.

'Alright, I need to teleport myself right where the shikigami's are. Concentrate...CONCENTRATE..'

Sitting in a meditating position, she tried to focus onto one of the specific butterflies that flew right in front of Todoroki himself.

While a few classmates sweat dropped at her, not being able to hear anything they assumed that she was tired from exhaustion.

Smiling when she finally spotted the right one, in a matter of seconds she dissipated from everyone's sight. Leaving a dust of flying papers behind.

::

"Don't move, as a hero my goal is not to use any unintended violence.
However if you try to do any sudden moves, the ice spikes will go right into your vision. If you even flinch, you will have to suffer an injury so just stay back."

Three.

Just when Todoroki was a few steps away from the nuclear weapon, a butterfly appeared in front of him, blocking his path of victory.

'She is still trying-'

Two.

His thoughts were interrupted once the butterfly started to produce more papers coming out of her. In less than a second Mai appeared from the papers, as soon as she gained colour, she grabbed Todoroki's hand just in time.

Eyes wide, Ojiro couldn't help but move slightly at the sudden appearance of his comrade. But before he could even turn around, the ice spikes from before flew towards his face.

Squirting his eyes, he readied himself for the painful impact only to realise it never came.

One.

Instead the ice spike pierced through two butterflies, their colour sinking from ash white to crimson red. The three froze as Todoroki looked at the two 'dead' origami's laying on the floor, ice pierced through them.

He looked at Mai only to have his eyes widen as he stared at the slightly trembling figure in front of him. Her left hand held his right one firmly, not allowing him to even touch the weapon.

Despite the grip being so strong, her hands were soft and warm. Mai's eyes were shadowed by her blue bangs. The two stood like that until a few drops of a ruby red substance fell on the floor. Looking from where the drops fell from, he noticed they were coming from the shadowed area from her eyes.

Trying to pry of his hand while Mai just gave him a lazy smile. Her hand holding his so tight it cloud be counted as a 'death grip'.

'Zero...'

"THE VILLAIN TEAM WINS!"

::

Mai's quirk.
