24 Arnav and Aman

Part 24 Arnav and Aman

Aman was taken aback. Who was this man who had acquired all the shares of his hospital? It was common knowledge that Aman didn't run the hospital for profit but solely for the service motto. This was why he had never anticipated his hospital shares to be sold. Yet, here was Arnav Singh Raizada, the new shareholder. What was his motive? Did he truly understand the essence of Aman's hospital, or was this a calculated move to turn a profit? After all, he was a businessman.

"Dr Aman, are you there?" Armaan asked.

"Yes, sir..."

"You should meet Arnav Singh Raizada. It's a formality." Armaan said.

"Sure... what's the big deal? He is the only shareholder. We will not have a problem with gathering many people for the conference. Ask him when he could meet me. I will make myself free."

"Sure, Dr. I will talk to him and let you know."

"Ok." Aman disconnected the call, thinking about Arnav. He thought managing many shareholders would be a headache because handling people with different mindsets would be the biggest challenge. But now, he should hold only one man. He didn't know who he was, his character, or his purpose! Who knew, he would be the man who would be his headache. Aman became curious to meet Arnav Singh Raizada. So, he searched for him on Google. Aman was stunned to see a stunning, handsome man. Would Arnav Singh Raizada be this attractive? Would he be beautiful from in also? He waited to meet Arnav.

...........

Arnav smiled, seeing Armaan's number flashing on his mobile screen.

"Hello, sir..."

"ASR, as you said, I bought all the Mathur Hospital shares in your name."

"I know, sir. I checked my Demat account. Thank you for being so helpful, sir."

"I didn't do anything, ASR. I just took YOUR idea of selling his hospital shares to Aman Mathur, but, honestly speaking, I didn't expect Dr Aman to accept your idea, but he did."

"Of course, it's my idea, but Aman accepted it only because of you. He would not have accepted it if anyone other than you had suggested that." Arnav smiled.

Yes, it was Arnav's idea to bring Aman's hospital shares to the market. Only then could he contact Aman, who was in a different field. Without any loop line, a clever strategy that Arnav had devised, he could not get close to Aman. Getting close to Aman was very important for him in achieving what he wanted. Finally, he succeeded in his plan with the help of Aman's accountant, Mr. Armaan. Armaan agreed to do it only because Arnav's intention was pure. Of course, Arnav's intention was pure, but Armaan didn't know the real intention, which was also pure.

"You should meet Aman. It's a formality. Tell me when you will be free."

Arnav smirked. That was what he expected. He calculated quickly and said,

"Is 2:30 pm ok?"

"Yeah, Aman said he will make himself free."

"But he is a doctor. I don't want to disturb his service. That's why I want to meet him during lunch hour. He would be free at that time, I suppose."

"This is what I liked about you, ASR. You are so genuine. I will arrange your meeting at 2:30."

"Thank you, sir," Arnav said, and the call was disconnected.

Arnav leaned on the seat and planned how to move the cards.

Noon

Arnav reached Mathur Hospital at 2:30 pm sharp. Accountant Armaan waited for him in the reception and took him to Aman's cabin. 'Dean Dr Aman Mathur, MBBS FRCS.,' had been written on the board. Armaan knocked on the door. they heard,

"Come in..." from Aman.

Armaan entered followed by Arnav. Aman stood up from the seat, looking at Arnav. Or, we could say, he read Arnav. His eyes that wavered in him a tip to toe was the evidence. Armaan introduced them.

"Hi..." Arnav extended his hand.

"Hi..." Aman held his hand, and Arnav shook hands with him confidently.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Mathur."

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Raizada. Please take your seat."

Arnav sat before him.

"I was surprised when I learned you bought all our hospital shares. I want to tell you something. This is not a profitable business. If you are in the thought of getting profit through this..."

Cutting him,

"No, Mr. Mathur, I don't think this business is profitable. I would not have bought the shares if it had been a profitable business because I don't think the medical field is a source of profit. It's a service. People came to the doctors expecting them to save lives. I'm not here for profit. I know how to profit in my business, and I'm already doing that. I want my money to be spent in a good way. That's my mother's wish, and it's a wish I hold dear. That's why I bought your hospital shares; I heard you are not money-minded like others. Nowadays, the medical field has turned into something in which doctors fix TARGET to earn money, making ill people scapegoats. I'm glad you are not one. That's why I'm here. I won't ask you to share your profit. I want to spend money to treat poor people. I think I'm in the right place."

Aman was impressed. He didn't expect to get such a shareholder ready to spend money on service, and he liked Arnav so much.

"I'm glad to get you as my shareholder, Mr. Raizada. I never thought I would meet a man with the same wavelength as mine..."

Arnav dialled Khushi's number, keeping his phone under the table, and disconnected the call before she attended to it.

"I, too, am glad. Mr Mathur," Arnav said, expecting Khushi to call him back.

"Hope our partnership will last a long time," Arnav said.

"I will be happy if it happened." Aman smiled.

As Arnav expected, Arnav got a call from Khushi. Without showing his joy on his face, Arnav looked at Aman and said,

"Excuse me..."

Aman nodded yes. He attended the call. Aman was supposed to take a file on his table, but his hand stopped hearing,

"Han, Khushi...?"

Aman looked at him perplexed, even though he didn't know she was the same Khushi.

"Arnav, did you call me?" Khushi asked.

Without answering her question,

"I will pick you up. I'm close to your PHYSIOTHERAPY clinic only." Arnav knew Aman was gazing at him even though Arnav didn't see him. Physiotherapy clinic? Aman was nervous.

"I see... but I have some work. I can't leave so soon. Actually, I was supposed to call you."

"For what, Khushi? "

"I thought about going to Aashi's school to apply for a bus, but it seems I can't go today because we can't pick her up daily. We will go home relaxingly after finishing our work. I dared not do that until I was in Lokesh's house...!" she sighed.

Arnav smiled. Khushi decided to hire a bus because she now had an address. Wasn't that nice?

"Don't worry. I will apply..." he smiled.

"Will you go to her school?"

"Of course, yes... I will go."

"Thank you so much, Arnav."

"Come on, Khushi... why I'm here?"

"So sweet of you..."

Hearing that, Arnav smiled, forgetting himself.

"Bye, Arnav. Will meet you in RM."

"Yeah... bye," Arnav disconnected the call after talking to Khushi cautiously without revealing anything about her and Aashi. He looked at Aman, who was gazing at him.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Mathur. It's an important call."

Aman nodded.

"Anything else?" Arnav asked.

"Tell me about your family," Aman asked, and Arnav smiled inwardly.

"AS OF NOW, I and my mother are my family..."

"Are not you married?"

"Not yet..."

"Hearing your talks on the phone, I thought you were talking to your WIFE. Is she your friend?" Aman intentionally asked, expecting Arnav to tell him about the girl.

Arnav didn't want to accept Khushi as his FRIEND. So, he said,

"She is my friend Payal's friend from London."

"It seems you guys are close friends."

"She has no one in India. Poor her; her own family abandoned her. (Arnav saw Aman getting awkward) She came to India to stay at Payal's house, but unexpectedly, Payal's brother-in-law got transferred to Delhi. Khushi didn't want to make them embarrassed. So, she shifted to my house."

"To your house?"

"Yeah, she is my mother's physiotherapist. Now, she had no choice but to stay at my place. She was fed up searching for a house because people think of her differently because she is alone."

Aman gulped down hard.

"Poor girl. She is so self-esteemed. She is not even ready to share her problems with anyone. Luckily, I met Khushi in the QUEEN's jewellery shop even before Payal introduced her to me."

Aman shrank his face because Sheetal only bought jewels in Queen's jewellery.

"That day, I saw Khushi threatening a woman. I was impressed, and I learned how courageous Khushi was. The woman she threatened had literally died in fear." Arnav chuckled.

"Who was the woman?" Aman asked, controlling his nervousness.

"Her name is Sheela or Sheetal something..." Arnav said as if he was unsure, looking at Aman's face from the corner of his eyes, who was horrified.

To be continued...
