Chapter ♞ 5 : I Want To Try Shooting

"Kyaaah! Kise-kun is so cool!"

"He is so amazing!"

"How can he keep up with Tanaka-kun?! He is so awesome!"

They were having an P.E. exam, the boys were kicking the soccer ball and to see who can keep it up in the air for the longest without it touching the ground. Apparently, Kise and their other classmate, Tanaka, were the only two who can actually keep up.

Kise was using his ability to easily copy someone else moves, namely as; the Perfect Copy. He used it so he can get an A in his examination, though, no one else knows except him.

He had a bored expression painted on his face while his hands were tucked in his pockets, when he was actually completely fed up, he kicked the ball to the net.

"Kise and Tanaka, you get an A." The subject teacher announced as the rest of the clapped for them both, mainly, just for Kise.

Kise is really amazing. In lots of things.

Kise excused himself as he was going to the comfort room real quick, Mikan walked towards him.

"Kise-kun, you did great—"

But he just walked passed her, remaining his bored expression. She froze after seeing his emotionless face. Overflowing confidence and belief is somewhat lonely.

"I'm so bored."

He muttered as he brushed against her shoulder lightly and walked out of the soccer field.

It was lunch break and Mikan was in pinch, next week, the girls were having a P.E. test and they're doing basketball. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't know how to play basketball or even know the basics.

"What should I do? I'll flunk my P.E. exam for sure!" she said, horrified.

If I only have someone who can teach me how to play basketball...

Suddenly, a basketball rolled its way towards her feet. She crouched down and grabbed the ball as she stood up straight.

"Sorry. That ball belongs to me!"

She looked up to see a shinning hope in front of her, it was Aomine, who was soaked in sweat and was wearing a plain t-shirt, shorts and rubber shoes.

"Here you go." she gave him the ball as he took it from her hands.

    "Thanks, Sakura." he grinned.

He was about to leave when she called his attention, making him stay.

   "Aomine-kun...wait!" she said.

   "What is it?" he asked.

Mikan looked down on her feet, fiddling her hands, her cheeks turned slightly red as she was embarrassed.

   "Um...can I ask a favor?" she asked.

"What favor?" he said, raising an eyebrow as he held the basketball in his arm.

"Well, you see, we have a practical exam in P.E. about basketball. I was thinking if you could help me....?" she shyly asked for his help.

"B-But it's okay if you don't want to! You have other things to do, right?" she said, immediately taking back her words.

    "What time?" he asked.

    "Um...after school?" she said.

"Sure. I'll help you." he answered.

She looked up and stared at his blue orbs, a blush spread across her cheeks.

"Really? You're willingly to help me?" she asked him for confirmation.

"Yeah. But I still have practice later, can you wait?" he asked.

"Yes! Thank you! Where should I wait for you?" she said.

"I know a basketball court around the corner—wait for me outside the school gates." he told her.

    "Understood." she replied.

Aomine did his daily club activities, he run across the court while dribbling the ball in his hand as he jumped up and shoot the ball in the ring.

He looked at the wall clock, it was 5:00 pm in the afternoon. Classes has ended and most of the students have went home already.

"What's wrong Dai-chan? You keep looking at the clock." Satsuki asked as Aomine walked to the bench to drink some water.

"Satsuki, I'm going now." he said as he was finished drinking water.

"But it's still early!" Satsuki said.

"There is someone I have to meet." he told her as he put his bottled water in his sports bag.

    "Who?" she asked.

He shrugged his shoulders as he grabbed his school uniform and went to the changing room to change.

Satsuki had her hands in her hips, demanding answers from him. She pouted as he kept dodging her questions.

   "Dai-chan~!" she said.

"Send my regards to the captain, see you tomorrow." he hurriedly said as he walked out of the gym.

"Mou! You tanned freak!" she rubbed her forehead in frustration.

Aomine ran towards the school gates as there weren't much students around, the sky was bright vivid orange and the sun was about to go down.

I hope she didn't got sick of waiting.

Then he saw someone standing in front of the entrance, the wind blown against her hair as cherry blossom petals scatter across the sky.

Slowly, she turned around to face him. She smiled gracefully at him as she plucked out a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear.

    "Good job." she told him.

He felt his cheeks heat up for no reason, he felt his pulse accelerate. He doesn't know why he was feeling like this. It was weird.

"Thanks." he said as he ignored the feeling in his chest.

"Let's go?" he asked as she nodded, the two of them began to walk.

After walking, they reached a nearby basketball court, which was a block away from school.

"This is where I practice playing basketball by myself." he told her.

"I didn't knew that there was a basketball court nearby the school." she said.

"Well, now you know." he grinned.

They entered the court and placed their bags on the bench. Of course, Aomine brought out his basketball from his sports bag.

   "Alright. Let's begin." he said.

He began to teach Mikan the basics of how to play basketball; dribbling, passing and shooting. Good thing that she was a quick learner which made things easier, however.....

"Ah!!" she exclaimed when the basketball rolled out of her hands, she was dribbling it earlier but suddenly loosened her grip on the ball.

"What are you doing?! You have the basketball in your hands!" he screeched.

"I-I'm sorry, Aomine-kun! I'll do it right this time." she panicked and picked up the ball.

She was a quick leaner, but she makes too many mistakes. It's clear that she doesn't have any past experience of playing basketball.

She wanted to try and shoot the basketball in the ring, when she was about to do it, she tripped on her own feet and fell on the ground.

"F*ck! Are you alright?" Aomine said as he rushed towards her.

"Ouch..." she muttered as he noticed that she scrap her knee.

"That's enough for today." he said.

"No. There is still something I want to try." she said as her eyes were moist, she was holding in the pain.

"Don't be stupid. What else would you try now that you have a wound on your knee?" he said.

   "I want to try shooting."

Aomine paused as her eyes looked in his blue orbs, he got drowned from her mesmerizing violet eyes.

She stood up and dribbled the basketball in her hand, she run towards the ring and jumped as she pushed the basketball from her hands as it flown high.

There is no way that it'll go in.

The basketball reached the side tip of the ring as it began to move circular in slow motion, then suddenly it.
