New age- Lucy's POV

Lucy's POV-

"There... beautiful," I whispered as I tied the braid in her hair off with white ribbon.

I stood up and smoothed my own long flowy white dress out. I glanced in the full-length mirror that was in front of us and took us all in. My girls stood before me with their hair braided nicely and decorated with white flowers, their own white dresses on, and the start of little smiles on their lips.

It had been a rough few weeks. Not only because we had to lay to rest our own fallen members, but we had also been travelling around going to different packs to attend their memorial services for their fallen members.

Kale and I felt a responsibility to have to help sort out each pack's hierarchy and help them learn how to function properly. It was hard work, but it was necessary. It had been necessary for us to go to every pack. Each pack that we went to we were greeted at first with malice and people on edge, but eventually they all warmed up.

I had been worried for Lexi and Thea at first. I hadn't even wanted to bring them with us due to the potentially dangerous situations that we might have been going into. I was going to leave them with Evanna, Wes, and Sam. However, they both hadn't wanted to leave mine or Kale's sides since the moment we declared ourselves as their guardians. They needed nurturing and they needed it from us.

Luckily, nothing too dangerous or drastic had happened in any of the Northern packs that we had visited. Us and our help had eventually been accepted by each pack quite easily once they realized that we were truly of no threat to any of them. That was honestly for the best because my wolf was feeling very overprotective and possessive of my new moon daughters. If anything had even remotely threatened either of them, I probably would have become unhinged and ruined the treaties that we were trying to put in place. It was getting worse as we spent time away from home. Ever since we showed up to the last pack, I had felt off and the power that was flowing through my veins was feeling even more powerful than normal.

Each Northern pack had accepted our truce and signed a treaty with The South. We were at the last Northern territory right then, waiting for the memorial service for their fallen. Then, we would go home and begin to prepare for the full moon celebration that was in just a few days. The ceremony tradition that all packs will come together in unity.

The Lawrence pack where we were residing, formerly known as The Russel pack, was faring nicely. They had decided on their new Alpha before Kale and I even got to the pack, and she was doing an excellent job at keeping the peace. Her and her mate were doing a spectacular job.

The two females really understood what it was to lead a pack together. They were both taking and listening to the pointers that Kale and I gave. They had adopted new pack rules and were implementing them seamlessly. You could tell that they absolutely loved their pack, and they would do anything for it, just how any Alpha couple should.

I was proud to say that Kale and I had made a difference. We had shown the wolves what it is to live in harmony and balance. Even through the power struggles in some of the other packs, we were able to solve everything peacefully. We were entering a new time of peace.

"I know..." Alpha Lawrence said as she began the memorial service solemnly. "I know that some of us want to blame and hate ourselves, or perhaps others, or maybe it's everything. It is natural to want to blame, hate, and enact revenge. I have felt it too. I too have felt the want for everything to make sense and for the guilt and hurt to dissipate," she admitted.

"The truth is... we lost people in our pack," she acknowledged. "We lost mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters all due to ignorance, blind belief, cowardice, lies, manipulation, and power-hungriness. No matter the reason for our losses though, we did lose them. We have holes in our hearts for our fallen pack members. It hurts, it bleeds, and only time will heal. But we will heal. We will look back on our fallen and laugh about our good times and love. We will remember the sad and hard times and give them the same grace and forgiveness that we would give ourselves. They are still here, within each of us, as we move into a brighter and new age of peace and understanding."

"I recently learned something from our new Southern allies," she said and beckoned my family to stand up there with her and her Luna. "We can only act from a place that our own consciousness allows us to. That means that we cannot hold it against ourselves or anyone else for this mess that was made.

"I am not saying that we can't take responsibility for it because we can and do. What I am saying is that we must learn from it. As we raise in consciousness and realize what we have been doing is wrong and not okay, we learn. And from that new space from which we have learned, we acknowledge our wrongs, forgive ourselves and others, and move on. We move into the space of peace and tranquility that The Burke-Smith pack has brought to us. We gratefully move into a new time and age.

"And that is how we will remember and honor our fallen. Through pure love, gratefulness, and remembrance," Alpha Lawrence finished.

Kale was the first one to bow his head in respect. "To the moon, to the stars, to the great beyond. We keep our fallen alive in our hearts and remember them through each moment," he said.

----

"Are you sure that we can't convince you to stay an extra day? You all bring our pack so much peace and hope," Luna Lawrence spoke kindly.

"That is very sweet of you, but we have many preparations for the full moon," I answered as Lexi and Thea said goodbye to a rabbit that had been following them basically since we arrived at the territory.

"Yes, we will see you in just a few days. We really appreciate your help and efforts to ensure peace throughout all of this," Alpha Lawrence spoke strongly. "And your whole family is welcomed here anytime."

"Good," Lexi said allowed. "Because we have to come back to see Flora soon!"

"You named it?" Kale asked incredulously. "I told you both to not get attached to it. Wild rabbits are unpredictable, and most don't like us wolves."

"But Miss Flora loves us. Don't you, Flower?" Thea asked sweetly as she scratched behind her ear.

"They are more than welcomed to take it home," The Luna said with a smile. She did not realize that Kale was silently begging her to not say those words. "It is very rare for rabbits to familiarize with wolves, so they absolutely shouldn't part with it. Plus, that type of rabbit is quite rare around here."

"Seeeeeee!" Lexi said as she looked up at Kale with puppy dog eyes.

"Please, please, please can we take her home?! We promise that we will take care of it!" Thea pleaded.

"Flora will be really good! Won't you, my little flower?" Lexi added.

Kale looked to me for help, but I just held in a laugh at their giant puppy dog eyes directed at my mate. I already knew that he was putty in their hands. They both already had him wrapped around their fingers. I knew the moment that I saw the rabbit hop over to them that we were going home with an extra member to our growing family.

"Fine!" Kale relented. "But she doesn't get a cage," he said firmly. "We don't cage animals. How would you like it in a cage? And you have to let her go into the wilderness at home. And you have to show Grandmama as soon as we get home. She loves rabbits."

"Yesssssss!" Both girls exclaimed while doing a happy dance.

Right then, everything felt so full and peaceful. It was no nice after the turmoil that we had been constantly stuck in with the war that we had just officially ended. We were ready for a new time of peace and ease.

"We will see y'all for the end of the war full moon celebration," I said to the Alpha couple before us. "Girls, tell them thank you for letting you keep Flora, and you better be extra sweet to Kale since he's agreeing to let you keep her."

"Thank you, Alpha and Luna Lawrence!" The girls said excitedly before hugging Kale tightly for letting them keep their new pet.

As we turned to leave after waving goodbye to our new allies, Kale looked at me with a smile. "I have to admit, their sweet hugs make it all worth it... Even if I must put up with a mischievous rabbit because of it," he said with a laugh.

"You are such a softie," I teased him before he shifted and maneuvered me onto his back.

"Luce, will you hold her for us while we run home?" The girls asked me softly.

I smiled and took their bunny from them. As I held the rabbit in my hands, I felt my power flare and my divine sight begin.

As soon as my vision ended, I wanted to be sad and upset, but the rabbit quickly looked me in the eyes and licked my cheek. I held her against my chest and petted her bunny head affectionately.

Kale was going to be devastated.
