"It's time..."
A lone hydro slime bounced towards a narrow path leading towards a cave and stared. The area was abandoned, seemingly for centuries due to the moss and vines dangling on the entrance. Crystals glow from various colors from within, resembling the celestial bodies seen in the night sky.
The monster tilted it's face. It was as if something was calling it. Unable to resist the temptation, the slime decided to follow it's insticts and bounched inside the cave.
Unaware that it had entered a forgotten deity's domain.
From where it stood, the hydro slime was in awe. It feels like it had been transferred into a different world. Huge corals and crystals covered the walls of the cave, sea plants grew on the seemingly wet dirt from where it stood. Yet despite not being underwater, the surrounding's plants flourished with so much life.
It was what everything it's kind could ever dream off. A secret sactuary. The slime finally noticed the most unusual thing that it had never seen in it's entire life.
In the center of the cave was a huge waterfall lake. But what caught the slime's attention was the water bubble at the center of the lake. Inside was a silhouette of a young girl who appears to be sleeping.
Just as the slime was about to take a closer look, the cave began to rumble. Water droplets began to float, circling around the center where the water bubble was.
A huge splash was heard. The bubble finally bursted. The girl inside slowly descended before standing still on the lake's surface, her snow white hair glistening with the glow around the cavern. Her pale pink eyes fluttered open revealing fox like eyes as she began to yawn from her long slumber. Her hydro vision glinting from the sash of her blue hanfu. On her hair was a glistering glaze lily ornament that was too realistic to be fake.
The slime stood still, unaware of what it should do.
"Oh dear. It seems like my punishment is finally done." The girl's gentle voice echoed through out the cave. She began to look at her surroundings. "It seems that everything look the same at it was before, but what about the current era of this time."
Huge snow white fox like ears appeared on both side to where her ears were suppose to be, soon white four tails appeared from behind her. Staring at her number of tails, the female furrowed her eyebrows before letting out a sigh of disappointment.
'My adepti abilities... Are slowly fading along with my special sight.' Closing her eyes, purple and pink mist began to surround her. In the process, water began spiraling around her as she began to use her special ability.
Memories began to flood in her mind. The memories of the land around her, people who used to live in the past after her disappearance, the events happened in the past also flashed into her eyes.
Yet none were those are the memories of her friends nor the places she once went to in the past. None of these were Khaenri'ah...
Soon, the near future events appeared making the girl snapped her eyes open in shock. She fell on to her knees in exhaustion and in fright.
'With Rex Lapis having taken away my powers, I could barely last to see the future events.' The fox girl gritted her teeth, her glowing tails flickered with her annoyance. She sighed, her thoughts wandering to what future she manage to peak into.
'As I expected. The prophecy I had foretold five hundred years ago had already started. The dragon of the east had been already poisoned by the abyss...'
The girl began walking on water to where the slime stood. The said creature flinched, expecting to be slain for only the girl to walk pass it.
'But... He can still be saved....'
The girl glance at the slime before picking it up. The sudden gesture took the hydro jelly by suprised, but the fox adepti was still busy pondering.
'Her brother... He will save him along with Barbatos and two mortals. I still have to fullfill my promise.' She sighed. 'I broke my contract, so that could be mean that I'm no longer considered as one of the adepti. That means, I'm no longer bound to my duties. After all I'm already dead to the people of Liyue, what is the purpose to continue my sole duty as the Oracle. Liyue no longer needed me...'
Stepping outside for the first time in centuries, The fox adepti placed her free hand on her eyes, trying to block the sunlight.
'Liyue... Had truly changed for the past few decades.'
The girl placed the slime back to the ground, smiling slightly as it began to bounch away.
"Now. My attire seems quite unappropriate for this time and age..." As a Huli Jing, she was able to shapeshift into any form she wants. She could either be a man, a woman, an animal or a child and no one would even suspect it. Using her power, her attire changed into a simple blue Liyue style dress, her vision still hung through the sash around her waist. To blend in with the mortals, her usual adepti aura disappeared along with her tails. Her fox ears then disappeared, hiding in the illusion of a pair of human ears. Her snow white haired changed into the mortal colored (h/c) and her once glowing pinkish-purple hues switched to (e/c). "There we go. No one will suspect me as the former Oracle, not that anyone of this age will be able to recognise me."
Now that she was free from her contract. The former adepti could finally do anything she is pleaed to do. A plan began to formulate into her mind of what she could do to prevent the prophecy from happening.
'The prophecy had already began. Thus it can't be stopped. Perhaps all I need to do is to prevent much damage than what it was suppose to be expected.' (e/c) fox eyes looked towards the direction where the city of freedom was located. With a determined nod, her mind was set.
'I will prevent any further damages. The future I saw... I will prevent it from happening.'

It tooks her a few days to get to the Liyue-Mondstadt borders on foot, gathering a few infomations about the last few decades in the process. Having met a nice mortal man who offered to give her a lift, her journey was cut short to a half a day. Waving the kind merchant who gave her a lift goodbye, the young girl finally made it to the road that leads to City of Mondstadt. The adepti glance at her surroundings and smiled.
Barbatos' nation was still the same from the last time she had remember it. Nothing changed with only the fact the city was no longer ruler by tyrants.
The girl sighed. Now she travelled alone. She didn't have a clue of what had become of her former travelling companions, her ability didn't allow her to see the events that involved her two friends.
But she do hope that they are doing well.
Ever since she woke up, it almost like her abilities as the Oracle had dwindled, after all this is her punishment. It won't be long until her powers will disappear.
Until then, she needs to be useful for the traveller. She'll stay with him until he'll no longer needed her, that is what she promised to her dear friend after all.
Now walking past Dawn Winery to Springvale, she noticed a young girl in red clothing battling alone on a hilichurl camp.
The child was seems to be using pyro infused bombs. The former adeptus had her eyes widened in shock to see the destruction that the little girl had caused.
"Watch out!" The Huli Jing gasped, summoning her polearm as she sees a Hilichurl sneaking from behind the child. The young girl gasped, just as the monster raised it's club to hit her.
In the blink of an eye, the adepti's water coated weapon was seen through the Hilichurl's chest. The monster turned to dust and the water coating the weapon splattered. The child was in awe watching the mysterious girl fought with the remaining monsters.
She moved with elegance. Striking in a rapid pace. Droplets of water spiraled around her, the child could see a few rainbows formed from against the sunlight.
Then there stood a lone Mitachurl, raising it's axe over the Fox adeptus' head. But she was faster, She disappeared into a puddle of water just as the axe striked down, then reappearing behind the huge monster before plunging her polearm on to it's back.
The fight was over, due to the usage of her hydro vision, water surrounding her began to splash around. Dispercing the remaining flames that the child's pyro vision had caused.
"It's dangerous to fight like that." (E/c) fox eyes met with innocent red ones. "You must never let your guard down. You could have potentially injured yourself."
"But I didn't! Miss fox eyes had saved Klee!" The blonde girl giggled. She wasn't really that disturbed after seeing a complete stranger with suspicious looking eyes that reminded her of a fox, murdered a tribe of monsters all by herself without sweating. "Miss fox eyes fight the monsters all by herself!"
"I assume that Klee is your name, yes?" The adepti knelt to the child's level. "You shouldn't be out here all by yourself, where are your guardians? You didn't runaway from them didn't you?"
"How did you know?!" Klee gasped. "Oh no! Please don't tell Master Jean... I wasn't suppose to leave Mondstadt. I have to see myself in the Solitary Confinement now..."
"I wanted to get some flowers for Miss Barbara... But Klee ran into the Hilichurls, so Klee has no choice but to fight them!" Klee beamed, her innocence made the fox adepti's heart clenched.
Which led her in her current situation, picking up some whirlwind aster for the hyper active elf child.
"Miss fox eyes is very nice! Oh I forgot to ask your name!" Klee gasped, running towards where the adepti was. The said fox stopped just as Klee sat infront of her, eyes filled with curiosity. "What's Miss fox's name? Klee wanted to know!"
'Name? As I recalled Lady Guizhong gave me my Adeptus name. Or Is this child, refering to my mortal name?' The fox thought. 'Now I remember... She gave me a name five hundred years ago... My adeptus name is long forgotten, so it is better if it ends that way.'
"(Y/n)... My given name is (Y/n)." The adepti told Klee after a minute of silence.
"Klee thinks it's a pretty name!" Klee smiled brightly.
"Thank you. Are these enough?" (Y/n) asked gesturing to the bouquet of Whirlwind aster and stood. Klee nodded and did the same. "In that case, why don't I escort you back home? Where do you live?"
"Oh! I live in the knights of favonious headquarter." The bubbly child chirped. Knowing where the area was, (Y/n) gently took Klee's hand and began walking to the path that leads to the city.
"Klee thinks that you're alot like Albedo!" Klee blurted out.
"Albedo?" The fox adeptus asked. "Is he perhaps your guardian?"
"Albedo is like my big brother! He's so patient with Klee and he's really nice like Miss (Y/n)." Klee said, she then gestured the older girl to lean in which she did, Klee began to whisper. "Me and Albedo has a secret code. Don't tell anyone okay? It's a secret~"
"Alright." (Y/n) lightly laughed. It was both amusing and adorable on how the younger girl keep on talking, even if the topics were considered nonsense. Despite knowing the child just today, the adepti couldn't help but feel drawn to her.
She was the youngest adepti of Liyue. Having been born in the middle of the archon war had taught her a lot of lessons. From the moment she was born, she was taught how to fight. Her childhood were consist of bloodshed and pain, different from the child she was holding hands with. The same hand that was tainted by the blood of her enemies.
(Y/n) glance at Klee who was telling her a story of how she bombed a lake. Her eyes softened. Klee was free and oblivious to what the world had become. She was still free from being tainted by the sins of the world.
'I must change the future that the prophecy had given.' The former adeptus thought. 'Children like Klee... They don't deserve to see how cruel this world had become. They shouldn't have to worry about their safety and lives. They shouldn't be tainted at a young age...'
"Miss (Y/n)! We're almost to Mondstadt's gates." Klee informed. She was then startled when (Y/n) knelt infront of her, gently holding both of her small shoulders. "Miss (Y/n)?"
"Klee. Could you promise me to keep being yourself?" (Y/n) told her. "You don't have to worry about anything okay? Have fun and make the most wonderful memories of your childhood."
"W-what? But Klee is already having fun!" Klee gave her a smile. "Most grown ups are too busy to play with Klee. But Miss (Y/n) kept Klee company! If Miss (Y/n) say so, then I promised. Pinky Promise!"
Klee raised her smallest finger towards the adepti. (Y/n) was a little confused, seeing that she had no knowledge of the customs of the current era. But she decided to copy the young girl to her suprise, Klee interwined their finger and grinned.
"Pinky Promise!"
"Yeah... Pinky Promise."
"Klee has to go now. Will I see Miss (Y/n) again? Can you play with Klee next time too?" Klee asked hopefully.
"Ofcourse I will." (Y/n) smiled.
"Then will Miss (Y/n) help Klee bomb the fishes?" The young girl asked again.
"That's a little dangerous but..." With a hint of mischeif in her eyes, she lean a little closer to the child and whispered. "I would love to help you bomb the fishes as long as Klee keeps it a secret!"
"A secret?! Klee has a secret with Miss (Y/n) now too!" Klee squealed with happiness before running towards Mondstadt's stone bridge. She then look back and wave. "Klee can't wait to see Miss (Y/n) again! Bye bye~"
(Y/n) waved back, watching the young girl dashed inside the city. She then stoode up and began walking ahead, towards her suppose destination.
'I must protect children like Klee... They are infact, the hope of the new era. The era that is must to come.'

The sound of waves crashing down the sand, as soon as the adeptus reached her destination. The scent of the salty sea filled up her nostril, giving her a serene sense of inner peace. It had been a while since she felt the sea.
(Y/n) walked around the beach, reminiscing the days when she walk through the sand filled ground of Liyue, listening to the tunes of her dear friend, Barbatos whenever he comes for a visit. She slightly shook her head, trying not to get distracted, before walking to a certain spot. Nodding to herself as soon as she sees a quite huge celestial body falling down from the heaven, just as she foresaw.
'Just in time...' (Y/n) thought, as she began forming a huge bubble of water with the help of her vision. The shooting star grew bigger as gravity rapidly pulled it down to the ground. The illuminating golden light around the star slowly grew dim, allowing a silhouette to slowly come in view.
The fox adeptus was fast. She then controlled the motion of the water bubble, floating it upwards as quickly as she can to the direction of the falling male before using the bubble into cushioning his fall. She sighed in relief, before lowering the bubble back to the sandy shore. Resting on her bubble was a young man with long braided blonde hair and wore a black exotic clothing that kept his tone stomach bare.
'He look just like her....' The adeptus thought, her eyes softening as she was memorizing the angelic features of the sleeping male infront of her. 'Lumine... I found your brother....'
It was already nightfall when the male slowly regain his conciousness. The blonde groaned, slowly sitting up from his unsually soft bed. His tired golden eyes glanced at the warm fire infront of him. But his gaze lasted longer to the shorter female who was busy cooking on a pot.
"I see your awake...." (Y/n) spoke up, turning to the male with a kind smile after sensing the blonde's slightly alarmed and hostiled look. Seeing how she was trying to be nice to him, his gaze softened. "That was a rough fall you experienced back there."
The blonde male only stared at her confused, with a strainded voice He asked with a little hesistation on his tone. That's when she realized he spoke up with a unusually otherworldly language that the adeptus couldn't pinpoint. He looked around only to find himself on a beach. He finally noticed that he was sitting on a floating bubble made out of water. Suprisingly enough, his clothes wasn't wet.
"Our current location is on the beach near Starsnatch Cliff. Mondstadt, Teyvat." (Y/n) told but reminded that he couldn't understand what she was saying.
Suddenly a distant memory came flooding in, reminding her the fact of what his sister had told her centuries ago. Her twin would just remain silent while she learnt the language of Teyvat, having been the one conversing on small talks, her brother thought to leave the conversations to her, ignoring the language completely. (Y/n) frowned, already thinking of a possible schedule. She wouldn't just allow The male Outlander to travel on his own, not without knowing how to read and talk in Teyvat's universal language.
Scooping up the soup she cooked with a ladle. She then stood up and approached the outlander with food on hand. Gesturing with her free hand to eat "Here. You must be hungry, have some Bamboo Shoot soup."
As soon as she offered, the blonde's stomach started growling. (Y/n) slightly giggled when she sees the flustered cheeks of the embarrased young man. He gratefully took the bowl and started eating.
However this somehow concerned her for a little. He seems to be too trusting. This made her worry even more, for the path he will cross is filled with sorrow and pain.
"I believe, we haven't introduced ourselves yet." (Y/n) started, making him look at her. Golden clashed with (E/c). "Perhaps once you learned our language, I will introduce myself once more, I'm (Y/n). It is an honour to meet your aquintance."
The blonde merely stared at her, still silenced, she smiled. Her patience hasn't waver, having to perfected it for millenials, being surrounded by far too proud adepti had longed her once short temper, she is now not the type to waver at the lack of response.
He seems to have understand her gesture despite only hearing strange words coming from her mouth, swallowing the meat from the soup, he merely nodded, seemingly wanting to understand her words too.
Thus their lessons began.

It was like teaching a toddler how to talk for the first time, but for this it was a toddler with much intellectual knowledge. The blonde outlander was a fast learner despite only watching the movements and listening to the tone her voice.
(Y/n) started with small baby steps, using their surroundings, she introduced each one using the world's language. From a small pebble to vast mountains and rivers.
Soon, the outlander was able to understand her. But not once he spoke to her, only observering her actions and listening to her words.
It was only a month and a half since the two had met. But despite the conversations being onesided, the two shared mutual understandings. It wasn't long for (Y/n) to understand the blonde's body languages.
"Flower." Was the first word, the blonde had spoke. In the native language of teyvat. This made (Y/n) paused, underneat the moonlight infront of the campfire that the male had created. Seeing her patiently waiting for him to continue, he hesistated but spoke up. "My sister has a flower on her hair too..."
He was talking about the glaze lily ornament attached to her (f/c) hair. (Y/n) nodded, encouraging him to carry on the conversation. "Really? What kind of flower?"
"I don't know. It's something I haven't seen here in the wilderness..." He sighed, shaking his head before smiling gently for the first time. He wasn't the same confused outlander from before. "I never told you my name before since I was still learning this world's language.... But just call me, The Traveler..."
He wanted to hide his real identity.
(Y/n) nodded. This was the start. She may had already know his real name, but she wanted him to tell her himself. "Late introductions but it's nice to meet you... Traveler... I'll introduce myself once again, I'm (Y/n)..."
✦ • * * • · . °
"I think we should have some fish for lunch today." The Traveler suggested, watching the fox adeptus rummage through her satchel for ingredients.
"If that what you wish to have, then I'll cook some for you." (Y/n) gave him a calm and gentle smile. The blonde nodded rather eagerly before grabbing his fishing pole and headed out of their small camp.
It had bee a month since (Y/n) had been with the blonde. During that time, she also taught him some of the cultures of the nations she know, which is mostly just Liyue and Mondstadt. The two cities she is fond of. But it certainly was enough time to gain the blonde traveller's trust.
It was need to say that, she spoiled him a bit too much. Agreeing to everything he wanted to do, only lightly scolding him whenever he did something reckless. Call her biased, but she couldn't help but grew fond of him. After he decided to open up, the Traveler was a sweet and kind gentleman, (Y/n) already know what fate and trauma awaits him in the near future so she made it her goal to support him and be the shoulder he could lean on. To atleast ease and bare the heavy responsibilities that Teyvat will throw on his shoulders.
Once she prepared the nessary ingredients, she decided to follow the direction where the blonde went. It didn't take her long since she could spot the mop of blonde hair sitting on a rock, his back turned as he fish in the pond.
The Traveler turned when he heard her soft footsteps on the grass. He gave her a small smile as she stood beside him. "I didn't know, you'll follow me here. I haven't even caught a single fish yet."
"I was merely curious. I never really went fishing before, so I'm eager to watch and learn." (Y/n) admitted, making him nodded at her honesty. "Besides, I couldn't wait for the ingredients to just be given to me."
"You can always rely on me." He assured her. His eyes moving away from the pond to her. "You're a huge help already. If it weren't for you, I might still be confused right now. Wandering around, with no idea what's happening."
"It's nothing really." (Y/n) told him. "Like you, I don't have a slight clue of where should I start next. So maybe we should stay together, perhaps we could find what is truly our goals while at it."
The former adepti was hinting that she should stay and travel with him. She saw bits his future and the prophecy that she had foresaw centuries ago. Him and the prophecy was connected, she couldn't just stand by and wait for Teyvat to be saved, when she knows that she have the power to aid the traveller that will save her world.
Fortunately for her, the Traveler was oblivious to her real goal. "I don't really mind if you stay with me but, Are there people who might get worried for you?"
"The people...No longer needed me..." (Y/n) stared at her reflection in the water, clearly sadden at her own words. This made the blonde panic, thinking that he had asked her a quite sensitive and personal question. "The ones who have knew me for too long... Might have already forgotten that I still exists...."
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to ask such personal question." He quietly said. He was then only met with silence.
Before neither one of them could speak up, something was caught in the blonde traveller's fishing pole. The Outlander quickly tried to pull it up only to realize that it was quite heavy.
"You caught something..." (Y/n) quickly assisted the blonde by wrapping her arms around his bare stomach from behind, helping him pull the 'Fish' that caught up on his hook.
"It's quite heavy!" The Traveler said, tugging one last time. The thing that was caught by the hook flew in the air, out of the water, making the duo's eyes widened in shock.
(Y/n) gasped, catching the little white haired girl into her arms. She quickly kneel to the ground, placing the heel of her hand on the center of the the little girl's chest. She then placed the heel of her other hand on top of her first hand, lacing her fingers together. She began rapidly pushing her palms back and forth, trying her best to revive the girl. Her blonde companion could only watch with his eyes wide, the fox adeptus was quick to act that he barely had any time to process the sudden turn of events.
The girl regain conciousness and began coughing out water, (Y/n) quickly but gently allowed the child to sit up, rubbing her back softly as she continue to cough up the water that went to her lungs.
"Waaah! Paimon thought that it was scary!" The girl sighed in relief, placing a hand on her beating chest, knowing the fact that she was alive. She then turn around to see two strangers staring at her with worried expressions. "And who are you two?"
"You had a nearly death experience and the first thing you ask is who we are?" The Traveler questioned as the two of them got to look at her appearance properly.
The little girl has thick white hair cropped just above her shoulders and dark purple eyes. She was wearing what seems to be a long-sleeved white jumper and a night-blue cape flecked with stars and white stockings with white boots. Rose gold embroidery and shapes attached on the said jumper, boots, and sleeves. On her head are a dark purple hairpin, almost like black and a rose gold crown that levitates above her head looking like a halo.
"Well Paimon have to know the names of her saviors." The little girl said, as she began floating. Shocking the two.
(Y/n) didn't foresaw this. All she did see was Mondstadt dealing with the corrupted dragon of the four winds and The blonde Outlander doing his best to save him. But not the sudden meeting of a strange little girl who has the ability to float.
"Just call me Traveler. And this is my friend, (Y/n)." Aether introduced, making the adeptus to remove herself from her thoughts.
"So Paimon is your name, yes? What are you? Where are your parents?" (Y/n) asked. Questions flooded through her mind, but never did she asked something that could potentially offend her.
"Paimon is Paimon. As for my parents..." Paimon stopped before answering with honestly. "Paimon doesn't have one."
The adeptus' fox like eyes softened. Perhaps Paimon was just like her. Though, she considered Lady Guizhong as her mother figure but at the same time, she doesn't have any birth parents. She was alone as far as her early memories could remember, until she met Lady Guizhong.
"So you're alone then." The blonde's eyes softened. Feeling a bit sorry for the floating child.
"Traveler..." The blonde male then look to see (Y/n) giving him a pleading look. Knowing what she want, Aether sighed before turning to Paimon once again.
"Why don't you join us then? You said you're alone. We could use some company."
"Really? You'll let Paimon tag along?!" Paimon exclaimed, feeling so happy that she won't be alone anymore. The two couldn't help but smile. Paimon was indeed adorable.
"Yes, we will let you tag along." (Y/n) beamed, pressing her palms together to show how delighted she is.
"Yes! Paimon will sure not to dissappoint! Paimon will be your guide around Teyvat from now on." Paimon declared, placing her hands on her small waist with an obvious smug visible on her face.
The two laughed at her silly antic. It seems that their little group had expanded, from a duo to a trio. Now this is the start of the long journey that awaits them.

Golden irises were wide open as the cat slit pupils tremble in shock and disbelief. A lone figure stood tall on top of Wangshu Inn's balcony, feeling the presence of a close friend that he once thought was dead.
Xiao couldn't believed it. It had been five hundred years since he had felt her presence, yet here he was, running with inhumane speed to the direction where the presence was the strongest. He frantically searched the area where he know she was sealed in decades ago.
Tianqiu Valley was still the same. Xiao merely glance at the ruins before walking to a long forgotten path, To the familiar cave where his friend once reside in.
To his shock, he could see how lively the crystals around the cave was. All full of life and colors, different to the dull and gray ones that he always sees whenever he visits her realm. The waters were never this clean and pure that he could see the bottom. Looking around him, he only have one thought.
'Then...She is...' Xiao couldn't help but feel on his knees, his lips trembled as he chocked on his own words. Unknown to him, tears fell from his eyes that he never knew he could still do. 'She is....Alive...? She is back...'
His long time forgotten friend was alive. Something he always thought was only a dream. After she had broken her own contract, Xiao never saw her again. His fellow adepti grieved for they lost someone who they all treated as family. A precious daughter they all once raised. Rex Lapis himself mourned, for he was the one who sentenced her punishment. The Archon himself was upset but a contract is a contract, no matter what was their relationship had.
Xiao wiped his tears that he didn't realized fell from his eyes. In his thoughts, she probably had hate him, after all, he treated her like a complete stranger when she went through that trial under the gazes of his fellow adepti. Knowing her, she would never go back to her responsibilities as an adeptus again. Those nights when the two sat under a tree, formerly where the Wangshu Inn is now, gazing through the stars above, talking about their responsibilities and duties of those days, he'll never experience it again. She never wanted to be the Oracle in the first place.
The Yaksha let out a shakey sigh, before standing up, glancing at the cave one last time before disappearing with a much heavy feeling on his chest.
'I will make sure that I atone for the way I treated you... Mengxiang....'
