The multitude who spoke as one.

He had only heard them once before and he hadn't listened then.

"Help her. Save her. Keep her." they screamed all at once and the sound of it sent him to his knees. "Keep her. save her" They clamored over each other, urging him on and riling the beast into a wild rage. "Now. Now. Now." they demanded, pulling at the bars of its cage as if intent on freeing it and calling him away.

"Save her. keep her. Help her"

Help her.

He hadn't listened before and, in his arrogance, destroyed the world.
