"Johnnycakes! Ponyboy!" I yell angrily as I chase after them. "I'm gonna get you and when I do, I swear to god!"

"Johnny faster, she's catching up," Pony laughs he grabs his wrist dragging poor Johnnycakes after him.

I catch up to Johnny after Pony let go of him and tackle him to the ground, "got you Johnnycakes and now your gonna pay for T-Ping my room and switching at all my clothes with Sodapop!"

"PONYBOY HELP ME!" Johnny yells.

"Oh no, she got you, but she ain't getting me too," Pony continues to run.

"You can't run forever and just remember when you come home, I'll be right around the corner, waiting for you watching you," I yell back as I run off with Johnny. "You're off the hook, I scared you enough and I gotta stop at the DX."

"Oooooh," he smirks.

"Shut up!" I snap playfully as I glare at him jokingly. "You gonna come?"

"Nah, I'm gonna go catch up to Pony,'" he shrugs.

"Tell him I tortured you and then tell him that I'm gonna worse to him," I laugh.

"You are something different Lucy," Johnny chuckles. "I will though."

We both run off in different directions laughing. I walk into the DX smiling, "hey Stevie-o."

"Hey Lucy," he smiles back as I walk over to him. "Wow, you're not asking for Sodapop? I'm shocked!"

"I'm want some time with my Stevie," I say as I hop up on the counter.

"Good 'cause Soda's on break," Steve says.

"He didn't wait for me?" I ask before jokingly muttering. "Jerk."

"You two are official now?" Steve asks looking at me.

"Well yea, I told ya'll that last night," I smile. "Why?"

"I don't know. I mean we all knew you two would end up dating, but not this soon," he shrugs. "I mean right after a break up."

"I've known him forever," I remind him. "We've been best friends for our whole life Stevie. How is that soon?"

"I don't know," he shrugs. "Just don't let him break your heart."

"He won't!" I yell a little too dramatically.

"Woah, woah, woah, calm down," Steve chuckles as Sodapop walks in.

"Hey Steve. Hey doll," he smirks as he pecks my lips.

"Ewe no PDA!" Steve yells.

"You are so lucky there is no pillow around here for me to whack you repeatedly with," I say jokingly making everybody crack up.

"Whatever," he rolls his eyes. "I'm gonna let the lovebirds talk and head to the backroom."

After Steve leaves Soda turns to me, "wanna go somewhere when I get off?"

"Like a second date?" I ask him blushing as I bite my lip trying to hide my smile.

"If you want it to be," he smirks as he pecks my lips once again.

"I want it to be," I nod. "I'm gonna ditch to go get ready. Bye Pepsi."

"Bye doll," he yells as I walk out of the DX laughing.

"Hey," a girl with blonde, curly, hair walks over to me. "I saw you kiss Sodapop. Are you guys a thing now?"

I look at this girl, who I'm pretty sure I don't know. but who yet looks so familiar at the same time. I answer skeptically though, "yea. Why?"

"Just wondering," she shrugs. "I'm Elizabeth."

"Do I know you?" I ask her.

"No, not yet at least. Did Soda take you to a drag race for your first date and take you for a spin around the course? Did he rush you out just in time for the fireworks to go off then kiss you at the end of the kiss giving you a necklace as he asks you to be his girl even though it's 'too soon'?" This girl, Elizabeth asks me.

I turn to her shocked, "yea, how'd you know?"

"I was his girlfriend," she smirks. That's where I know her from! She dated Sodapop in seventh grade. "He does the same for all of his girlfriend. He dates them doing the same things making it seem like you're the first, he makes you feel special for a little bit and then he dumps you. You'll just be one of Soda's many ex-girlfriends, but I gotta admit you are different. You don't have blonde hair or blue eyes and you're pretty short, but other than that you're just like any other girlfriend."

"I am NOT just another girlfriend," I fight back as it all settles in. "I am his best friend too."

"You might wanna wear a bikini tonight," she winks. "He's gonna take you to the beach and have a picnic with you, but before you eat he's gonna throw you into the lake and jump in after you pretending you're drowning just so he can get a kiss. You don't even have to say you're drowning he's gonna pretend."

"You don't know that," I huff even though I'm sure she does.

"Sure I don't sweetheart," she smirks before walking off.

Soda's P.O.V.

I knock on her door happily, but when she opens the door I'm taken back. How did she know? She's in a bikini, but I never told her we're going to the beach, "how'd you know."

She rolls her eyes in annoyance, "I talked to Elizabeth and listen Sodapop I'm not interesting in being just another one of your many girlfriends. I think we're better as best friends. I don't want to do anything to harm our friendship. I'm sorry Sodapop."

"What?" I ask hurt filling my body. I mean sure I did the same thing with all my other girlfriends, but she's special.

"Soda, I talked to Elizabeth and then I talked to some of your girlfriends," she sighs. "I'm not interested in just being another one of your girlfriends doing the same thing as every other girl."

"You're not just another girl though," I argue with her knowing I can't loose her.

She rolls her eyes once again and I can tell she's pissed, "that's what you told Hanna right after she found out, but you did the same with her and broke up with her after four months. I don't want to be just another girlfriend. I don't want to ruin our friendship with a stupid romance! If you want a brunette for once just go ask some other girl, but leave me out of your love life. I'm not just another broad you can pick up Sodpaop! I thought you knew that, yet you treat me like you treat every other girl you've ever had!"

That hurt, "doll-"

"Don't call me that!" She snaps cutting me off.

"Just listen to me please," I beg, but she slams the door in my face huffing and now I know I have to make it up to her. I can't lose her, I just got her and she is special.
