Caught

"We keep this love in a photograph. We make these memories for ourselves. Where out eyes are never closing. Our hearts were never broken. And time forever frozen still. So you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans. Hold'n me closer, till our eyes meet. You won't ever be alone. And if you hurt me. Well that's okay baby only words bleed. Inside these pages you just hold me. And I won't ever let you go. Wait for me to come home. Wait for me to come home. Wait for me to come home. Wait for me to come home," I wake up to a beautiful singing

"Lucy!" I yell as I look over at her. She's swinging her feet as she sings looking out the window the sun shining on her perfectly.

She turns to me and smiles, the smile I fell in love it, "shh, the gang's downstairs. It's weird though, they never laugh anymore."

"Why are you still gone?" I ask her confused. "You're hurting all of us."

"It's not safe yet," she simply says.

"Who are you so afraid of?"

"A person in this gang. I'm afraid they're gonna hurt me...again, but I love them. I think I'm coming home soon though."

"How soon?"

She walks over to me pecking my lips, "I love you, but you gotta promise me you'll never hurt me."

"You're afraid of me?"

"Terrified," as she says that the door swings open to show Pony and Johnny. They both gasp.

"Lucy?" Pony asks.

She turn around with a frightened look on her face, "you never saw me! Okay?"

"No, why are you hiding?" Pony yells then hits Johnny's arm, "go get the gang."

"No please," she begs, but Johnny's already gone.

Lucy's P.O.V.

The whole gang is standing in front of me, all the people I hurt and all I can manage to say is, "surprise."

"How?" Darry asks. "You were dead, Dally saw you."

"I was dead, but I was still breathing," I say swiftly. "I changed and not for the better."

"How?" Darry asks once again.

"Is that all you know how to say?" I ask him. "Okay, how, the Lucy you once knew is dead, but Lucy Romero is technically still alive."

"Oh," Darry nods.

"I wanted to die and I did," I smirk my evil, emotionless smirk.

"How? How did you do it?" Darry asks.

"I'm not Lucy, but I am Lucy Romero. Ya'll have seen me, you just didn't know it was me," I pull out my shades, and put them on before coating my lips with red lipstick. "My name is Leila."

"Oh my god," Pony gasps. "You hang around my school. You stuck up for me and beat Bob up just two days ago."

I walk over to Pony touching his face ever so slightly, "I was always there for ya'll. I watched."

"You came over the house the other day and asked for directions," Two-bit chimes in. "To the DX of all places."

"I had to make sure you were okay. You haven't been yourself since I left Mickey. I've miss you," I say softly.

"You can come back now," Soda speaks.

"No, I can't," I speak softly. "The pain never went away, I just got real good at hiding it."

"Why? Why do you keep leaving?" Soda asks.

"I don't want to hurt you anymore then I already have Sodapop," I walk over to him. "I miss those reckless eyes of your or that happy-go-lucky smile you always get."

"I miss the fire behind your eyes," he informs me.

"That fire went away along time ago," I sigh as I look out the window. "I should go."

"No, why?" Soda yells at me. "WHY DO YOU KEEP FUCKING DOING THIS TO ME?"

"I can't keep hurting us," I simply say. "Goodbye Sodapop. Bye ya'll."
