"Shoot." Jameel was given the gun. He collected with a shaking hand. It has been days since he just woke up and saw himself in the jungle. He couldn't remember how he was caught. All he remembered was hopping into a taxi.

Jameel shot at the tree two times before he gave back the sheikh his gun. "Nice one." The man smiled and began walking while Jameel and five others followed him.

"Choose among the girls. Whoever caught your attention will be your wife." Jameel's jaw dropped.

"No need." He protested.

"It's okay but you will request for it someday. Let's go deeper I want to show you something." The other men seemed more scared than Jameel. They only move according to the sheikh's order. Jameel refused to be a robot.

They walked past several tents. Several group of young women fully dressed from head to toe. Some were crying, some had dried tears on their cheeks while some were sleeping.

"Jameel, you will begin your first operation next month. You can keep practicing here. I leave you in peace." The man left.

"What's your name?" Jameel turned to the man beside him. It seemed the man was less disturbed this time around.

"Momodou." He shortly replied. Jameel didn't talk again because the man didn't give him the audacity to do so. Jameel walked back to where he saw some girls crying. They reminded him of his sisters and so he felt the urge to help them with at least soothing words.

"What's wrong with you?" He knelt before someone who would be about the age of Maimuna.

"Please stop crying." He besought.

"I haven't left. What are you doing here Jameel?" The sheikh shouted. It was like Jameel stepped on the wrong path.

"Just trying to see what happened to her." He said quickly in defense.

"No mercy here. Make it haram!"

"What do you mean?" Jameel stood up with the same rage.

"If not because I see a potential mujahidi in you I would have cut off your head straight away for shouting at me. Now, force yourself on her." He ordered mercilessly.

"Do that right before my eyes or you shoot her yourself." Jameel hated the raunchy tune of the sheikh's voice. The girl looked at Jameel with pitiful eyes. She was literally begging him to spare her life. But to him, both acts were the same as killing a person.

Fatimah, his sister has been there before. He had seen how the incident broke her into fragments.

"What are you waiting for?" Jameel looked at the man sharply in disgust.

"Choose!" The decision was Jameel's to make. Either to kill or kill her.

"I'm sorry about the other day." Sadiqu croaked when he realised that the silence was getting longer between them.

"It's my fault so don't worry. I'm ashame to face you. I shouldn't have wrap my arms around you." Mimi looked away.

"I have my own share too. Let's forget it has ever happen okay?" Mimi nodded. Truth was, whenever she passed in front of people or talk with Leek, she felt like everyone knows about it. It was nothing big nowadays though. It was just a hug as it was called. She sighed.

"Okay. May Allah forgive us." She smiled this time around.

"I got you something." He winked and brought it forth.

"Oh my God! A kitty. How do you know I love them so much?" She collected the kitten. It had a white and black stripes on it. Mimi caressed it adorably. If there was anything she love in the animal kingdom, then it was a cat.

"It's a male." Sadiqu told her.

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate this gift." Her teeth were shining brightly and she couldn't close her mouth properly. It was as if Sadiqu gave her an expensive gift or a golden ring which was also her among her favorites.

"You're welcome. I guessed you like cats and I got you one. My sister hates cats."

"Leek hates cats too." Sadiqu clenched his teeth. Why would she be bringing Leek while they were having their little moment? He doesn't like it.

"Aren't you jealous of her? Like she owns my heart. You ought to be jealous girl." He teased.

Mimi took a sharp breath. "I'm a very jealous fellow but I know how to tame it. It's unwise to be haywire in the name of jealousy. Isn't it?" She shook her head in question.

"It is. You're right. But you got mad the day Hamidat said she loves me." He reminded her. Mimi laughed. It was true she got jealous the other day but she only acted so that Hamidat will not approach him again. She saw a devil in her and she was certain she could lure Sadiqu into a bad act. She used to have friends like her.

"I only acted. That was for a purpose. I don't call that jealousy I call it overprotecting." Sadiqu's heart melted. He loved how she weaves her words to melt him away.

"I was protecting you for Leek because she isn't here to do so." She added the lines that made him gain back his structure. When she's being Mimi, he melts away like a liquid but once she kept bringing up Leek, he felt like an undeformable solid.

"Let's forget about this topic then." He dipped his hand into his pocket. The cat meowed.

"This little thing felt it's left out." Sadiqu laughed.

"It looks like it's smiling now. I shall call it Bassam. The smiling one." She said it with two purposes. Bassam had been the pet name she had been calling Sadiqu in her mind. He wasn't hers to give him a pet name though.

"Nice name for a nice person. You gave me an idea."

"What is it?" Sadiqu smiled and started walking away. Mimi knew he was about to say something cheesy. He barely say those to her face. Whenvee he's saying something, he always mention it when he's about leaving. He's the shy type.

"See you around later. Seemah." Mimi rolled her eyes. Now what does this name means? She didn't bothered to stop him from going because she knew he won't stay.

She goggled it but couldn't find any meaning attached to it.

This guy was planning on killing her soon. She smiled crazily.

Kano, Nigeria.

2012.

Women were widowed, children were orphaned, others were forced to leave the world. The whole atmosphere of Kano state was mourning. It was the same news airing in every news casting station.

The first bomb blast by a new emerging Islamic jihad group. Almujajidun. The bomb was first planted in a school, then at a hospital. All those didn't kill anyone. It was more like a testing bomb.

The one that left people encumbered was the one at the mosque. It bursted when the Muslims were praying the Friday prayer in congregation. It killed a hundreds and left a hundreds injured. It was a moment no one would love to experience in their lives.

It mourned for a month before everyone got back to their normal activities as though nothing happened.

"Father wanted to see you to finalise our marriage." Maleekah ducked her head low. Sadiqu smiled, his cheeks almost joining his ears. He has gained some additional weight, looking more handsome than ever. Luxury life fitted him.

"We met just yesterday but he didn't mention it to me." He informed her.

"You met in a working place that's why. Family matters and business don't merge together." Sadiqu nodded in agreement. After his service, Maleekah told him her father was looking for a team of skilled engineers  for the venturing of a rice milling industry.

Sadiqu was among the ones to get the contract and because they did it perfectly well, they became popular. And so, they got so many offers from different organizations both governmental and non governmental.

Life changed for Sadiqu, as for now all he could say was glory be to Allah. In just two years, he has his car, and currently building a house.

The only problem he had was, all of a sudden last year, Jameel was no where to be found. They had searched and searched but all efforts were in vain.

"You're right. I will see him tomorrow. I really can't wait." He sighed dreamily.

"It's getting late. Go." She pushed him towards his car because she wasn't ready to hear all he had to say.

"I love you wifey."

"I love you too." She waved at him, feeling his love circulating every vein and artery of her system. She was now a certified barrister and was working.

Mimi was married to the son of Bauchi's state governor. Leek didn't participated well during the wedding because she was writing her bar examinations then. And now, in a few she was going to be Mrs Ismail. She really can't wait.

"Fatimah, I have begged you in the name of Allah. I had given you money, I had done a lot of things but you refuse then I think we're going to do this in the hard way." Honourable Bala sipped his tea. Fatimah only grimaced. She had finally decided to fight for justice and since honourable Bala got a summon from the court he had been coming to her.

"There's no amount of wealth that will undo what you did to me. I only want to see you behind the bars. Final." She rolled her eyes.

Honourable smiled. "We will see who will win. I'm going to destroy the remaining pieces you call heart. You will regret it for life." He rose, fuming. Fatimah looked at him disgustingly. She wondered why he wasn't even shameful as old as he was. Some people can kill for the enjoyment of this world which is only temporary.

"You're going to regret it. I assure you." He pointed his forefinger at her and hopped into his car.

"Great job Mummuna." Fatimah clapped and collected the phone which Maimuna recorded everything.

"Stop calling me Mummuna. I'm now older than you. My son, Muhammad is running but look at you still here." Fatimah briefly closed her eyes. Who will like her after hearing about her? She knew no one would. She smiled sadly and left without saying anything.

There was a lot of noise in the court room when the videos were displayed. Episode after episode. The first was when he begged her, almost going on his knees. The second was when he gave her money and the third was when he was threatening her.

The judge watched them keenly and confirmed they weren't  formed or edited videos. With Fatimah's hospital record presented by Barrister Nuraddeen, the video and other evidences, there was no doubt Honourable Bala was Fatimah's culprit.

"Due to the evidences presented before the court, this court of justice has sentenced Honourable Bala to nine years imprisonment..." There was a hush sound before the judge finished talking.

He continued from where he stopped. "However if the culprit felt like justice has not been served..." The court room erupted in loud noise once again.

Everyone was saying what he thought about the verdict. Some were surprised forgetting that no one was above the law. Once they were out. Journalists came rushing to Fatimah.

"Miss Fatimah how do you feel right at the moment?" She blocked them away.

"Can you tell the press how overwhelming it is to get justice?"

"What can you say to other victims?"

"What advice will you offer to young girls who were cheated like you?" Fatimah closed her eyes. That was what she didn't want. The attention. That was why she refused to fight for justice in the first place. She casted her eyes around looking for Inna.

When she spotted her in the crowd. She ran to her and hugged her. They began sobbing. The press turned to the and fired questions at Inna.

"There's nothing I can say but alhamdulillah. At least the government had shown to us that the poor has right and no one is above the law. I will also like to render my advice to mothers. I've made a mistake of taking Fatimah to work as a maid which was the root to what happened to her. We should be patient and rely on Allah. He will provide for us. Again I want to thank Barrister Nuraddeen for all he has done.

"Ma'am can you—" Inna and Fatimah disappeared from the crowd.

The whole week, Fatima's image flashed on the screens of TV. Honourable Bala's image too became the most popular image around the country. Several caricatures were made and several qoutings of what he said were made.

His image was tarnished, his family was broken and his life was ruined. But, he still avowed to revenge. He used the remaining power he had and maneuvered out of the jail after three days.

On his way back home, he called his politics thugs to meet him at home.

He began to plan. He was going to kill that lawyer and the judge. Then, Fatimah. They just can't be free after his image has been tarnished.

Along the way, a speeding truck overtook them. It took only few seconds before they crashed into each other. All plans got crashed right there.

The accident was fatal. No one was rescued, they all died. Honourable had been planning ahead not knowing he had only few minutes left on the earth crust.

It became another talk of the town, that honourable Bala died in a fatal accident on his way back home.
