Sadiqu turned around in a swift, faster than air travel. The voice was masculine with great power etched on it. His eyes fell on a tall man, a bit taller than him.

Sadiqu took gentle pads towards the man and placed his hand on his shoulder. He was about to make the man to face him when he disappeared. Sadiqu almost lost his balance out of fear.

"I came prepared actually." He heard the voice from his back. He turned around and see the man again, dressed in a royal clothes.

"Who are you?" Sadiqu gathered all the courage in him and asked.

"That's what I am about to let you know. Sadiqu Mamman." He answered back then bounced to Sadiqu's left side.

"You're just a young man- a former young almajiri within his village, a young boy who lost his father early in life, then strived to finish secondary school. One day you met her. Mimi. One way or the other, you met Maleekah. Because she's the closest person to her. Then fate had it all you ended up being confused. You actually thought you love Maleekah but it's Mimi you love. You were confused." Sadiqu folded his fingers to a fist. The veins around his head were popping. His eyes has started to get red.

This man was annoying him to the core. How could he be living his low key life and someone out of nowhere will be monitoring him. What has he done? Perhaps they all were trying to confuse him or get something from him. Well, he's going to teach them a lesson. All of them. Xurannah included. Leek included. He's tired of the braintossing.

"Easy." The man then disappeared but continued talking.

"I sent the jinns to confuse you. To divert your attention from Mimi but it wasn't hundred percent successful. Because your union is a threat to me. I was not trying to compete with nature, but I just tried my luck. But unfortunately I failed. Luckily I got another chance prior to Madaki's death and it's the last chance. So, you know I am never going to play with it." Sadiqu was just listening. His heart was just believing everything he was hearing.

"Do you think you're making sense? You all this jinns are crazy." He finally spoke.

"I am not a jinn. I'm a human like you. I'm just using an amulet that makes one to disappear whenever they wish." Sadiqu shook his head, adding up the information altogether.

"Maleekah warned you, didn't she? She did misbehaved, she became crazy? All my doing. I threatened her. Let me not bore you with what I know you're not listening or understanding. I stole Maleekah's stars do you know how? I raped her. That's the key to have her stars with me. And those stars are what I'm using now to achieve so many things. You can remember how she misbehaved when she found out she's pregnant. Luckily the baby is yours, she thought it's mine. Maleekah wanted to settle what's between her and Mimi after Mimi has visited your house and settled the glitch between you. Can you remember saying that you all make a colourful triangle? Maleekah started feeling unsecured again. My work though. She began to hate Mimi out of no reason.

Despite that, she tried to see she kept the bond intact so i went and threatened her. Maleekah can never tell you this. Even if she opens her mouth to let you know, something else will be uttered. Mark this again. My doing. She told you a story about Nusy, it's true but that's not the reason. I have forgotten what precedes what? It's yours to sit and remember. Whether you came to Bauchi before the glitch or after I don't remember. Just know I had Maleekah when she's married to you. Sad news is she's yet to identify me." The last revelation made Sadiqu lost his patience. He began sending fists in the air tirelessly while the voice just laughed evilly.

Sadiqu didn't know how the words were settling in his head. He's tried to create doubts but they refused to surface. How crazy was that man? Who was he, to be precise?

"You must be tired of punching the air brother. We will be friends when you write Mimi's divorce letter and drop it here for your own good. And then stay away from Maleekah, Mimi and everyone. Are you expecting me to tell you why? Then you're mad. The ransom remains the same. Divorce Mimi." Then the voice thinned away and Sadiqu didn't heard anything aftermath.

Sadiqu was sweating profusely. He checked his pocket for the earrings but he couldn't see it.

What? Sadiqu slapped his face and ran out.

*****

The room was dull and dark. It was located several metres away from the kingdom. No one knew about the existence of the room because it was between two thick trees. The door of the room was brown, in shade of the trees just to look like there was nothing there.

The inside of the room was more like a cave. The tall man removed his alkyabba and dropped it by a nail. He punched into the air in a gesture which looked like he's extremely happy. Suddenly a man came out from a door. He had a long beard and red eyes.

"I was there with you. You went to Sadiqu. I told you not to. Not yet." The long beard man grimaced at the tall one.

"So?" The tall man queried.

"There's a problem. Come in." He showed him the way to another very small room. The entrance was short, so both men had to kneel down before they could enter.

Few minutes after their entrance, the tall man roared angrily and slapped the long beard man whom was much older than him. How could the man tell him that Mimi was nowhere to be seen?

The long beard man set his redder eyes on the tall man and pointed his index finger on him.

"I have seen many wicked people but you're far more than all of them. Since you slapped me, you're going to see the consequences. Sooner or later." Then the long beard man disappeared.

The tall man roared oncemore and kicked the door. He clapped his hands and incanted some words. Then another man was before him.

They had their little talks before the man removed something from his pocket.

"Bury this in Madaki's grave." The tall man smiled.

He was going to keep on succeeding.

Who's he?

****

Mimi curled up and hugged her knees. She had been crying since she opened her eyes and found her in a thick forest.

It happened when she came out looking for Sadiqu. She met that tall man again. That time, he only stared deeply into her eyes then grabbed her arm. After that Mimi only opened her eyes and saw her in a thick forest.

He threw her by a tree and entered a cave to bring a chain. Before he came out Mimi heard a voice behind her.

"Don't worry Mimi. You're safe with me." But she never trusted the voice. Mimi didn't move an inch either. Without any further explanation, she felt herself floating in the air.

Then again she lost her consciousness. Mimi didn't know how long it took her. She just opened her eyes and saw her in a strange place.

A beautiful place, more beautiful than places she's known and ever been to. She felt herself sitting on a soft cushion but she didn't mind to open her eyes. Everything was becoming scary.

"You're welcome to the kingdom of King Suhal Zeenan. My name is Xuranna." Then light took over the place. Mimi closed her eyes because her eyes couldn't contain the light.

Mimi finally opened her eyes and set them on a beautiful woman. She's looking more like an Arab woman but her skin glowed like it was made of milk. Her beauty was beyond inscription.

"Feel safe. And by the way this is still Bauchi. The same Bauchi emirate. But rather this is the jinns section." The beautiful woman who said her name was Xurannah, told Mimi. Mimi only looked at her and yawed her gaze away.

"You're confused. Sadiqu was, too. But come here." Xurannah stood up and gently grabbed Mimi's wrist.

"No one is going to see you. No one knows about your presence here. You can see anyone though. You must be missing your husband. Will you like to see him?" Mimi nodded.

"Let's go then. Be at home." Mimi was just walking like she's on top of broken glasses and sharp needle.

*****

Sadiqu glared at Maleekah before he dragged her to a room. He grabbed her wrist and pinned her to the wall.

"Tell me what has been happening Maleekah! What's all this?" He asked, tightening his grip on her. Maleekah winced and tried to removed her hand from his own.

"Wallahi I don't know." She mumbled.

"Maleekah tell me where my wife is!" Sadiqu repeated.

"I swear I don't know."

"What do you mean by you don't know? You can't be warning us on nothing! Could you? Just speak up before I kill you right here." Now his hand was itching to grab her neck.

"I swear to almighty Allah I don't know." Then it dawned on Sadiqu. He remembered what that tall man told him. Maleekah cannot say a thing on that matter. He released her hand and moved an inch back. Sadiqu slammed against the door then slowly went on his knees.

Mimi where are you?

****

Xurannah looked at Mimi and smiled.

"We will enter this room. I will make myself visible to them but they can't see you. You shouldn't talk. Okay?" Mimi nodded. Just like other times, Mimi felt dizzy and before she blinked, she found herself in a room.

A room where Maleekah and Sadiqu were crying. Mimi's heart mellowed at the instant. But then she remembered the rule. No talking, plus they all couldn't see her.

"Assalamu akaikum to you my love." Xurannah first said while she remained invisible.

Sadiqu conjectured. Right that moment there was no one he wanted to see like Xurannah. He knew she's the only one that have the answers to his question. His heart double beat on excitement.

"I am sorry for coming late. I know you must be looking for me. I had some important things to do, hence the delay." The place lit up and Xurannah appeared before Maleekah's and Sadiqu's eyes. Maleekah was terrified. She hid behind Sadiqu and clutched his shirt from his back.

Mimi rolled her eyes. She almost talked.

"What's all this? What's happening? Where is my wife? Who's that tall man?" Sadiqu finally gathered the courage to ask her.

Xurannah sashayed around the room. Her long floral dress swept the floor before she twirled and faced Sadiqu.

"Before I answer your questions. I will first of all tell you a story." She smiled. Mimi's heart lurched to her chest. By Allah that smile could melt every man's heart.

"Story?" Maleekah repeated.

"Yes story. Our link. The reason I am after you all." She smiled yet again. This time around Maleekah saw the smile. She felt like smashing Xurannah's beautiful face.

"Hello woman stop being jealous. I mean stop grimacing, you know if I wanted to marry Sadiqu, I would have done so since and you won't be where you're today." Mimi felt like Xurannah was talking to her. Maleekah thought Xurannah was referring to her so she quickly replaced her scowl with a smile.

She's really afraid of this jinn. She didn't know what it's capable of doing. So she had to be careful.

Xurannah occupied the bed that was situated in the room.

"One hundred years ago..." Sadiqu, Maleekah and Mimi sat properly and gathered all their attention on her.
