"I am sincerely sorry," Mimi peered at Leek who wasn't giving her any of her attention. After two weeks of loneliness, with no one to talk to, she figured out that Maleekah was so important to her.

"Thought you got a new friend." Maleekah packed her past question papers and put them in her file keeper. On contrary, she had missed their crazy moments. Their outings and everything that keeps them together. Now that Mimi specifically came to her faculty, she knew Mimi missed her too.

"It's not like that. Life's been so hectic without someone to discuss stuffs with." Mimi blurted.

"That means you actually come to apologize so that you will keep on using me, right? Not because you realised that you wronged me." She made her way out of the lecture hall with stash of heavy textbooks. Perks of being a law student.

"You're not good at pretending. You know? Just drop it. I know you missed me too." Mimi opened the front seat of Maleekah's car and hopped in.

"Where do you think I'm taking you?" She put the car to ignition and began to drive.

"Wherever you take me to, it's all good. All home." Mimi smiled and rested her head on the headrest as Maleekah drove.

"I will apologize to Maama if you will accompany me." Mimi dropped it. Leek was in awe but she failed to show it. Whatever that will make Mimi to apologize on her own will was not something small. Mimi has always made it clear, she would never be on the apologizing side even if she was at fault. But now, this... That's too overwhelming to hear.

If only Leek knew what she went through...it was something more than a living hell.

"I don't believe you. What are your backup plans?" She earned a glare from her.

"I'm being sincere, trust me." Leek nodded and geared her way to Mimi's house.

"I thought you will not come." Maleekah lead Fatimah to the spacious garden at their house. She coincidentally met Fatimah again at the mall. Fatimah asked for her location and promised to come once she get the permission from her house lady.

"What makes you think so?" Fatimah played with her fingers as she asked. Maleekah noticed that the only thing Fatimah inherited from Inna, her mother, was shyness. Apart from that, she looked nothing like Inna's daughter or Sadiqu's sister.

"Because it's been two weeks since we met." Maleekah replied her.

"I was waiting for my graduation day that's why."

"Oh nice." Silence prevailed after Maleekah had replied her. Maleekah was dying to ask her about Sadiqu but she didn't want Fatimah to think she's shameless. Fatimah's lips were also itching to ask Leek what's between them since Sadiqu had refused to tell her.

"Where's that your friend that doesn't like me?" Fatimah asked. Leek's heart palpitated. How could she answer that?

"It's not like she doesn't like you. It's..."

"I can understand she's either your sister or best friend but you don't need to defend her because it's obvious she doesn't like me. Thank God the feeling is reciprocal." Leek was short of words. What would happen if Fatimah was to know Mimi was the same girl that added a new history to their life? Mimi was in a deep mess.

"I urge you to forgive her."

"I..." Fatimah's phone rang. She's now gotten a phone of her own.

"Let me answer this call," she stood to leave to a corner. Leek contemplated on eavesdropping. What if it was Sadiqu again? What if she loose the opportunity to talk to him again? Several questions ran on her mind that she didn't even know when she staggered on her feet and faltered to where Fatimah was answering the call.

"What a coincidence again! I'm at sis Maleekah's house." Maleekah pretended to be plucking red flowers when her ears heard that from Fatimah. Her eyes lit up.

"It's Inna," she handed the phone to Maleekah. Maleekah's feet went cold but she collected the phone nevertheless. She's never felt so disappointed like that moment. All her hopes were escalated few seconds ago but now they were forcefully brought down.

When she finished talking with Inna and they ended the call, Leek decided to ask Fatimah. She couldn't hold it any longer. It was hurting beyond words and she felt like if she didn't ask, she will never be in her normalcy.

"That your brother, how is he?" She knew it was downgrading to ask that but who cares? Maleekah watched as Fatimah's eyes grew big in surprise.

"He's fine. He asked of you too I think I should give him your contact." Fatimah did that on purpose. She wanted to understand what was between her brother and this lady whom was in no way his type.

"Give him my contact for what?" Maleekah understood the loopholes in Fatimah's question but she refused to fall for it.

"If you say so, then..." Fatimah shrugged and stood to leave. Maleekah fought the urge to say she was joking. But wait, if Sadiqu was having the same feeling she had for him, he would have collected her contact. Does that meant he didn't even cared about her existence? Was he fond of her because of her characters not because he loved her? So, had she been the only one in the triangle? Maleekah dreaded the day she would find an answer to her questions.

"Thank you for the visit." She said weakly and went back inside.

"Who's that girl?" She heard the voice that startled her all the time asked. Leek turned to look at her brother who came back almost two days ago but she didn't know.

"Just a friend," she failed to meet his gaze.

"Feel free lil sister." He smiled. Leek looked at him but all she saw in place of his so called smile was a smirk. He was always frowning since he joined the military.

"I hope you're not hiding a gun." She stated as a matter of honest observation. When he didn't said anything, she trudged away to her room. Because, she has her personal problems to handle.

Hajiya Hauwa has left for her state to attend the naming ceremony of her niece. The house was quiet, apart from the sound of engines running, nothing could be heard and it was just nine in the night.

Fatimah was done with everything early and because she fasted that day, she was extremely tired. She didn't even turn off her light when she began to doze off on her mattress.

Stirring uncomfortably on the bed as she felt something touching her elbow, she used her hand and shoved it away with her eyes still closed. The feeling disturbed her sleep to extent that she gave up sleeping and opened her eyes.

Her eyes met his own eyes and she screamed in terror. What could he be doing at her room in this hour? She didn't close her mouth from the yelp when he put his palm and shut her up.

Fatimah began to wiggle but she was overpowered by him and pinned to the ground. And therein, she couldn't do anything to shield herself away from the harm that came from the least expected person.

Every layer of her confidence was destroyed same way her heart shattered and made her life crumbled into pieces in such a way that she wished she died the day she was born than to witness this dark night in her life.
