FOUR: I dare you.
This is for Zahrah_Dalhaat.❤❤
His heart was still aching as he pace away. Nothing could be compared to the pain in his chest when the farm was snatched. He saw no reason why he should offer his help to her since she didn't have an ounce of pity in her heart.
But she's just a young teen.
And she's in a vulnerable state currently.
His heart brought up some excuses but he discarded them away and continued walking down the street to the shop.
She's your sister in Islam. Also, do not pay wickedness with wickedness.
Another conscience suggested. Sadiqu stopped walking to hear the conversation between his heart and his mind properly in order to choose one.
The heart is a misleader. If it destroys, the whole body is destroyed.
Following his mind, he rushed back to where Mimi was laying down and sleeping as if nothing ever mattered to her. If she was in her right sense, that would never ever happen. He looked at her before he picked her bag to check whether there's a phone he could use to reach out for someone, perhaps her family.
The bag was empty. He wondered if that's how she's walking with nothing in this big bag that could contain a baby. It was getting darker and the street has started becoming silent. He bowed down and picked her.
He wondered how many minutes he would spend before they reach the dorm, taking his legs as an obstacle. He began to walk slowly trying to avoid falling due to her weight on his arm.
***
Few minutes later, he was standing at the entrance of the dorm. He dropped her on the floor and tried to open the door. None of his friends were around and he was so so thankful for that. He wasn't ready for their unending chaff.
He brought out his Nokia and called Nazeer, briefly, Nazeer told him none of them was coming back tonight. They would spend the night at Thomas's. He sighed of fierce relief. Placing her on his own bed, he walked out with his pillow and lay by the entrance. He wasn't going to buy anything anymore since it was getting dark. With a lot of thoughts, darkness overcame him as he drifted into a deep slumber.

"For goodness sake, not for me your Excellency." Hajiya Maryam had tried all ways to persuade him to go to an opening ceremony of a non governmental institution meant for endorsements but he wasn't willing to sheathe his outlook.
"How many times would I tell you to stop mingling in my political affairs?" He raised an eyebrow. Without giving him an answer she silently walked away and he followed her.
"I will go, is that not what you want?" The tension on her face didn't loosened. Dr Bashir knew that he's in Hajiya Maryam's pot of soup. Although he was a tough man, she had her ways to bend him in the path of her choice.
"When you go there, donate. If you don't, I will see it via the media." Hajiya Maryam finished with a troat. Without waiting for his answer, she left him there. He shook his head and called his P.a to call the organisers of the event and inform them that he will honour their invitation.
••
It was ten in the morning and Mimi hasn't woke up yet. Sadiqu decided to wake her up at least she should go back home and pray fajr prayer.
When he woke up at dawn, he didn't wake her up to pray because the dress she was wearing barely covered her properly hence she can't pray.
He was drenching in sweat when he came back from his morning jog. It was a difficult task, but he loved it.
Mimi stirred on the bed and began to wiggle trying to shake off the remaining sleep in her system. Realising something, she jumped off the bed and landed on the floor.
That drew Sadiqu's attention. He was at the mirror cleaning his wet face with a towel.
"Welcome back to the world miss Mimi," he mumbled taking gentle pace to the location of his bed.
Mimi was dumbstruck. She was tonguetied and was in a state that could express utter shock and surprise. How did he even know her name?
She wasn't sure if she was still in a drunk state or in a dream.
"You passed out on the streets of London yesternight." He squatted beside her, looked at her and averted his gaze.
Suddenly the veils of shame wrapped her and she felt really shy with the condition he found her. Badly dressed plus drunk. Now, she's lying on his bed.
What a bad day to begin with.
But her sturdiness wouldn't just leave her.
"You can have your breakfast here or leave. I'm off to the school library." He stood up from squatting and head to the door.
"Oh please, I forgot you have to leave because I have to lock the dorm." He turned back and his eyes met hers. She was intensely staring at him and he wondered why she was doing so. Having no clue, he shrugged and tapped his feet continuously.
Mimi gulped so hard. Truth to be told she had never had this in retrospect. Like, she had never imagined ever helped by someone as low as Sadiqu. No, she has never thought that she could pass the night in a stranger's room.
The whole Mimi slept in a poor guy's room. What an irony of life!
She had never felt so bad in her life like she did today. Sadiqu will not see her with any dignity now. Ya Allah that's so awful.
Dragging her bag from the bedside, she rose to her feet and head to the door where Sadiqu was waiting for her to trudge out. She was fighting the urge to look at him again, she wanted to say thank you and lot more but her ego and pride wouldn't allow her.
Sadiqu could read from her greyish emerald green eyes. She was thankful but couldn't say it. He shrugged yet again, after all he didn't do it to earn her gratitude. His intention was for the sake of Allah.
He noticed how she was uneasy as he lock the room. Every move she took, she's careful as though she found herself in a jungle. He chuckled and decided to make her uncomfortable, the more.
"Chubby chubby girl, I had a lot of fun... You know." He winked and screeched a laughter.
"Whattttt? Please don't tell me you mean what I was think...ing," her eyes grew bigger and she dropped her bag out of shock.
"Just kidding.". He frowned this time around. She stole a glance of him. She saw sheer innocence through his eyes as they walk down the lane. She was literally following him because she was walking with the same pace he walks. A bit slower than a normal person.
He acted as if he didn't know she was by his side. His heart skipped a bit when he saw her checking her bag. He remembered seeing nothing in the bag last night. He just hope she will not accuse him of stealing.
" I knew it. Your intention wasn't pure you dimwit! You helped me so that you could steal from me. Congratulations because your operation was successful, the money and phones in this bag were worth more than your small farm. I've said it before there's a huge line between opulence and penury but, your husk and grains filled brain won't take it. Oh my Allah! You're... I don't even know what to say." Sadiqu watched with folded arms as she bawl.
He pursed his lips forward, "I have a whole dictionary in my head which can help you in choosing the right word. Which letter do you want the word to start with, miss Mimi Bashir?" He raised his eyebrow.
"Oh you won't need something from a poor guy like me therefore I've taken back my suggestion." He turned to leave her.
"Pathetic human being, a thief who knows nothing but to steal from rich girls although it isn't your fault but your pathetic father who born you in penury and pass the traits of stealing down to you." The words echoed in Sadiqu's ears. The street was silent if not they would have been surrounded by people by now.
Did she just insulted his father who has died long time ago?
Slap
Slap
The sound of his palms against her face filled the place. He could tolerate all trashes but not insult, that too, to his parent.
"What is wrong with you? Thank you. Thank you, you've succefully hurt me because you insulted my dead father. Mind you, whosoever insult another person's parent, its equivalent to insulting his own parent. So, you see I don't need to insult you because you have done it by yourself.
I'm aware that, you know what that means. It's more advisable if you will change for good and know what to say. I've some piece of advises for you but I'm in a hurry now and you won't love anything from a poor and cripple guy. I dare you to slap me back please I'm begging you." He stopped to tear a sheet from his notepad and began to scribble something.
Mimi was out of words for the second time today. She had waited for him to jest her because he helped her but none came. She somehow felt bad on hearing that his father was dead.
She hated it when a dare was thrown at her. She took two steps closer to him and raised her hand.
"I dare you to slap me back." He repeated looking deeply into her eyes. His eyes held so much charm and charisma that she didn't know when she put her hands down. She raised her twitching hands again but like a jelly, Sadiqu's aura slipped them down.
"Good. This will be of help to you miss Mimi Bashir." She extended her hand to collect the long sheet and quickly withdrew it back for the fear that he would smack her.
Sadiqu picked her bag which was laying on the floor and put the paper in it. He stopped a cab that came to pass and hopped in.
Mimi opened the paper only to see a long jot in Arabic language.
How could she read that when she couldn't even write or read a single word?
Drama drama💃💃😁
Don't forget the usuals.
