Calm before the storm

Quiet days were very rare for you. Mostly, the first years are always here and there yelling and screaming, the second years panicking to quiet them down and the only two third years sipping tea in the background as they enjoyed the screams of their underclassmen. Oh yeah, your part of the third year group, you really couldn't give a fuck if they were smacking each other, as long as they practice and don't embarrass your name.

"What are you doing?" You asked as you entered the kitchen, on your uniform, ready to make something to eat. But before you could even touch the ingredients, the second years were all gathered together on the stove.

"Ah, empress, good morning." One of them greeted you and turned to look.

"What's that?" You asked, walking over to them and looking at. It was a cooking thing of some kind. As someone who's only used baking tools all your life, you've never used any other tools other than basic pans and pots. "What is this thing?"

"This is a takoyaki maker." One of the said, pointing to the thing. "A friend of mine gave it to me. I was thinking of making some takoyaki, but we don't know how to make takoyaki. Do you know, empress?"

"I don't." You answered, shaking your head. "You guys don't?" They shook their heads, not knowing what to make takoyaki. 'Well, this is a school with rich kids. I'm not too surprised...' You hummed, thinking of a way to make takoyaki, already forgetting why you were here in the first place. "Ah, I know who might know how to make some."

"Who?" They asked.

You took your phone out of your backpocket and called someone. "Teru."

{Morning my empress!!}

"Morning." You greeted without much emotion, it made the other students wonder if you really do like the guy. "Anyway, we have the thing that makes takoyaki, the thing we ate at the festival. Do you know how to make some?"

{Takoyaki!? Woah! I want some too!! I'm coming right now!!} After that, Terunori hung up and didn't even answer. Hopefully he knows how to make some.

"Yeah, I don't know how to make takoyaki."

You and your second years stood with blank faces as you stared at Terunori and some of his RS members. You could see how each RS differences. Your RS is filled with prideful people who know how to get money and enjoy life filled with sweets and everything nice. Then there's Terunori's RS. They are a bunch of sunshines who love to whip people with spices and chilli.

Just like the moon and a sun. Just the moon is very salty at the moment.

"Yeah, get the hell out." You spat, taking your phone to look for tutorials on youtube.

"WAIT!! I'm sorry!! I just got excited!" Terunori whined, hugging you from behind. "Baby, I'm sorry!"

And so began another nagging session between you two.

"They act like a married couple." One of your RS members muttered as they watched you two argue. The others nod in agreement. "I'll go get Mitsue-senpai and Hano-senpai."

"I am- I am disappointed." Mitsue grumbled as he pinched the bridge of his nose. You and Terunori sat a few ways away from each other. You were eating ice cream that the second years prepared the other day. "Empress, with all due respect, are you two children?"

"Technically speaking, we are." You answered with a shrug. Hano nodded with you.

"Plus, it's just a little squabble!" Terunori cheered as he munched on some food.

"The ice connected on your head doesn't seem to be a little squabble." Mitsue pointed to the ice that was placed on Terunori's head, held by one of his RS members. "What exactly happened here?"

"Teru fell." You answered, standing up and going over to him, feeding him ice cream. "Are you okay now?" Terunori nodded and had a little grin on his face. "Good." A little smile was on your face as you leaned down and placed a kiss on his cheeks. "Sorry about that."

"Empress!! My head hurts too!" You groaned, ignoring your RS member's attitude. Mitsue will take care of them.

"Anyway, why are you all here?" Hano asked, looking around the room.

"Oh, we had a takoyaki maker, but we don't know how to make some." You replied, holding the ice on Terunori's head. "Do you know how to make some, Hano-senpai?"

"What? Of course I do!" She replied with a smile, tying her hair back.

"Really?!" You all exclaimed in shock and surprise.

"Well duh. Takoyaki are pretty popular with us common folke." Hano Mayo was part of the small majority of students who aren't part of some wealthy family or a family with a history with cooking. She was just a normal person with a passion for cooking.

You, of course, didn't care for her social status. If someone could be of use to you, then you sure as hell will use them. And Hano's talent wasn't something to laugh at. She's a third year, you can tell that she's good at her craft.

"You're pretty busy. You need to take a break." Terunori said as he stood behind your desk, looking over the papers you were working on. "What are these anyway? He asked, taking a few and reading over them. "Hm... these are?"

"A few of my customers." You answered, saving the document on your laptop just in case.

"So you do shipment outside of school? That's impressive..." He hummed, placing the papers back on their place neatly. "But still, if you're working too hard you might get sick."

"Don't worry, I'm fine." You answered with a smile, turning your chair to face him. "Plus, having the first years on their stagiaire, the place is quieter and calm. I can get a lot of work done."

"Then, how about Mitsue-senpai and Hano-senpai? What do they do?" He asked, leaning on the table. You went over to him, resting your head on his lap.

"Mitsue is at the farms at this time, inspecting the students in charge. Hano is at the store, inspecting today's sales." You answered, wrapping your arms around him. "And after they're done with their job, they come back here and help me with work."

"Sounds tiring to me." He said with a shrug, caressing your head, his fingers dragging along your scalp and relaxing you. "Why don't you rest up for now?"

"Hm... okay..."

"Ugh... why are second years so annoying..." Mitsue grumbled as he left the changing rooms, wearing a new uniform, his hair still soaked tho.

"What happened to you?" Hano asked, passing by the irritated pinkett who just left the changing rooms.

"Some of the second years were playing around." He answered with a groan, remembering this afternoon's disaster gardening time. "They got me soaked with water. I was so close to screaming at them."

"But of course you showed them a kind smile, didn't you?" Hano chuckled as they made their way to your office, ready for another long afternoon of working.

"Of course." Mitsue smiled, placing a hand on his chest. "What kind of subject am I if I can't even take care of something as simple as children playing around." Hano sighed, shaking her head at the two faced cotton candy. "Now, then, time for work."

Mitsue opened the door. And when he was about to give his usual greeting, he was met by Terunori on the table, a finger on his lips, making a shushing noise.

"Ah, looks like she fell asleep." Mitsue said with a smile, walking over to your desk, inspecting you with his usual smile. "Then, we'll take care of the rest of the work. Eighth seat, can you please take the empress to her room?"

"Sure, leave it me!" He whispered, gently hoisting you up and carrying you. His hand supporting your back and the other under your knees, your head supported by his chest. "Then, we'll be off now."

"Please be careful." Hano said with a nervous tone as she opened the door for him.

Terunori gave her a nod before leaving the room and making his way to your room. Once inside, he placed you gentle on the bed and tucking you in like a little kid. He sat at the edge of the bed, watching you sleep with a smile.

Just as he was about to leave, the vibration of his phone caught his attention. He looked at who called him and saw the name 'Clingy Uncle.' Yes, Teru has your family's number. Given to her by Cécil during summer vacation.

"Yes?" He answered quietly, making sure you didn't hear.

{Ah, good you picked up.}

"What is it?"

{Look, I'm gonna be fast here, Terunori.} Yvon said in a serious tone. {Do you know about (Y/N)'s mother? My sister?}

"..." Terunori was confused. Why would Yvon ask that? "...Ah... yes. (Y/N) talked about her before... why?"

{Goo, that's easier for me-} Yvon sighed from the other line and he could hear him murmuring curses. {She's back in Japan.}

"Like, here? Here in Tokyo?" Terunori asked in a panicked tone. Even he knew, he knew just how you felt about your mother. Even if you never told him verbally, just by how you talked about her once, he could tell. He was pretty good at reading people.

{No. We won't know. I already told mom and dad about my sister. And as for (Y/N)...}

"I won't tell her." Terunori cut him off, taking Yvon off guard. "(Y/N) is afraid of her mother, I can tell that much. So don't worry, I won't mention anything to her."

{...thanks... Terunori...} Yvon mumbled. {And please... take care of her...}

"I will." Without another word, Yvon hung up on the boy. Terunori placed his phone on the bed with a sigh. He glanced over to you, sleeping peacefully, not knowing the storm that had entered. 'I will...'

[KAZU2]

Knwoing K1, I should start panicking now. (Ahehehe)
