Chapter 6
YN POV
I brought Elijah to his room.
"One reason you followed me?"
"I was curious." Elijah shrugged. "Jeez, Mom." He mutters.
"Sorry... It's just... It was something back in Queens with my sister and... It doesn't matter." I sigh. I sat on his bed next to him. I turned my head and saw this photos on his desk. I stood up and walked over. I picked up one of the framed photos. There was Ethan and Elijah embracing two little kids as they laughed. One was a little boy who looked about 5 or 6 and the girl looked 7 or 8.
"My niece and Nephew." Elijah's voice said from behind me. I turned around to See Elijah standing about 3 feet away. "Katelyn and Lucas. They're practically angels." Elijah smiles a smile where I could barely see he teeth. I look back at the photo.
"You miss em'?" I ask.
"All the time." Elijah lets out a breathy laugh. "You said you have a Little sister?"
"Yeah. I don't have a picture of her but She's one of the most pure and innocent people I know. She always wants the best for everyone and cares about every living thing with the most care humanly possible." I smile to myself.
"What's her name?"
"Jayden." I tell him.
"She sounds an awful lot like you."
"Me? Nah..."
"I mean, You always want the best for everyone, and you care so much about the people you love." Elijah said with so much truth in his voice.
"Well, That first week you were here I did wish that you stubbed your toe a couple of times." I let a breathy laugh escape my lips.
"I honestly don't blame you." Elijah laughs quietly.
"Well, You were lucky. I don't give many second chances." I say, waving my finger in his face.
"Well, What can I say, I'm the Best." Elijah jokes.
"I see what you did there." I laugh quietly.
"I can't help it." He shrugs, laughing.
"I honestly have no clue why we get along." I tell him.
"Why do you say that?"
"We're complete opposites."
"Well I mean, Opposites Attract, don't they?" Elijah says in a low tone of voice, stepping closer to me.
"Usually that applies to magnets, not people." I rebel playfully.
"But, It can relate to people all the same." He says in the same tone as before, stepping forwards again.
"Well I suppose." I say in my same playful tone. I realized that Elijah's face was only about 6 inches away from mine.
"Well, Is that an educated guess, or you just giving up this fight?"
"Does it matter?" I ask. Elijah's lips hovered over mine.
"Not Necessarily, no." His lips brushed against mine when he spoke. Sending chills down my spine. His arm snaked around my waist and I closed my eyes. I felt his soft lips connect with mine. For some stupid reason I kissed back. It just... This is gonna sound stupid but It felt right, now that he isn't Dunk. I draped my arms over his shoulders and drew circles into the back of his neck with my index finger. When we pulled back, our foreheads rested together and our noses bumped. I felt shivers and and adrenaline rush every time I touched Elijah, Now this- this was like an electrical overload. I kept my eyes closed, not wanting this to end, not wanting it to be a deceivingly real dream. I slowly opened my eyes to meet Elijah's Hazel ones. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out.
"Th-That was extremely uncalled for." I breathe.
"I'm just unpredictable." Elijah fought a smile.
"You suck." I laugh airily.
"I suck?" Elijah laughs.
"Wha- Yeah!" I laugh.
"Why?"
"You just kissed me out of absolutely nowhere."
"To be fair you kissed back completely uncalled for, which I'm kinda realized that At this point I should have played really drunk." Elijah thinks out loud. We were stood normally by now, about a foot apart.
"It's fine, Lije." I shove his shoulder lightly.
"No because I just kissed you completely uncalled for and now I probably made things kinda awkward cuz I think I kinda like yo-" He stopped mid sentence. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I just made things worse. I ramble way to much." He groans quietly. I laugh at him.
"Your absolutely hilarious." I smile.
"Your actually not fazed at all-"
"Because I think I like you too." I laugh. He raised his eyebrows.
"Are you F*cking with me?"
"No!" I laugh.
"O-Oh, So Like maybe we could go out for lunch or coffee s-something sometime?" He stutters.
"Your adorable." I laugh. "I have Class at 10 tomorrow. I can meet you at that little Cafe a few blocks away?" I ask hopefully. Elijah raised his eyebrows then nodded.
"Meet you there." He smiles like an idiot. I smile as I stepped forwards, cranes my neck and pecked his cheek before leaving the room, all in one swift motion.
I got out of class and I slid my books into my backpack while I walked. It was a beautiful September Day. Birds were chirping, the sun was shining, students walked around, talking to each other, it was great. I found myself at the cafe. Elijah was leaning against the wall, scrolling through his phone. He was wearing the usual; Black cargo shorts, A white T-shirt, and Black tennis shoes. I found it amusing the we had a similar fashion sense: Casual and baggy. See, I had worn a Razor back tank top, basketball shorts and a pair of black high tops. (Sorry if you don't like that, but this character is like a big tomboy) Elijah looked up and noticed me walking in his direction. He shut off his phone and put it in his pocket.
"Hey." I smile.
"H-Hey." He smiled. This was gold. He lives with me but gets nervous on a date. What a Smol Bean.
"Come on." I laugh as we went inside for our little date.
