35: You might as well give up

I'm just not interested in this story anymore D:

Y/n POV

Could this teacher be any more annoying? I couldn't understand anything he was saying, he was like that teacher from Charlie Brown. All that came out of his mouth was nonsense.

I didn't pay attention after he turned to the board with his dry erase marker in hand. Instead, I stared up at the clock next to the board. Thirty more minutes. Thirty more minutes? I'm not sure if I can even take one more minute of this.

The phone rang, interrupting the Math teacher. He walked over to the annoying phone and placed it on his ear. Nodding, he said he had someone they were looking for. Someone was probably getting picked up. Or I was in trouble again, one or the other. He set the phone down and called my name.

"Y/n, Mrs. Faye wants to see you." He points at me.

The students weren't phased, this has happened more than enough times. I happily stand up and rush out of the class with my bag over my shoulder. I don't know what I did, but I was excited to get out of that class. I was probably blamed for something else by Madison. I wouldn't be surprised.

Walking through the office doors, the old lady at the desk rolls her eyes at me. She has definitely had enough of me. Ignoring her, I walk straight to Mrs. Faye's door and stroll through the open door. I stop at the doorframe, shocked to see Mark and Madison also there. My eyes switch between the two, then land on Mrs. Faye.

"Sit down Y/n." Mrs. Faye motions towards the leather seat.

I close the door slowly. "Why are they here? Mark, did you do something?" I joke, messing his hair up. A small smile is shown on Mark's face before he quickly pushes it away and fixes his hair. I sit down in the empty seat next to Mark, Mrs. Faye glaring at me.

"As you three know, Y/n has been accused for selling drugs on campus." She folds her hands on her desk.

"She did, I saw it." Madison nods, shaking in fear.

I roll my eyes.

Mrs. Faye looks at her doubtingly. "If you saw it, why did you confess to Mark that you made it up?"

My eyes widen and a smile appears. Mark glances at me, smiling once again but hiding it quickly.

"W-What?" Madison stutters. "I never did such a thing, I saw her!"

Mrs. Faye picks Mark's phone up off her desk and presses play of an audio of Madison's voice saying she made it up. (Its a lame way to prove you innocent, but I couldn't think of anything else. I didn't really think this through when I had the idea...)

"Y/n is not going to be expelled, thanks to Mark here. I apologize for believing you were doing such a thing-" Mrs. Faye started.

"You bet your ass you're sorry." I glare at her.

"Don't forget I still have the power to expel you, L/n." Mrs. Faye glares at me.

"Please do." I roll my eyes.

Mark slightly slaps my hand, telling me to shut up. Mrs. Faye smiles at him and returns to Madison. I didn't care enough to pay attention to what she was saying. If it was coming from Mrs. Faye, I didn't care. Before I knew it, Mark and I were dismissed but Madison had to stay. The bell rang as Mark and I left the office. Without warning, I wrap my arms around Mark from behind.

"Thank you." I mumble into his shoulder.

"I couldn't have you expelled." Mark chuckles as the hallway fills. "And I thought you didn't care if you were?"

"I don't," I sigh, pulling away and walking by his side. "I just don't want anyone to mess with you when I'm gone. 'Cause its not like Tyler does anything." I roll my eyes.

"He would, he's just never around when Caleb comes around. Caleb aims at me when I'm alone, after all."

"Still," I shrug. "if he sees you hurt, he should do everything he can to make sure the person who hurt you feels more pain than they ever caused you."

"I don't think he should do that, and neither should you." Mark mumbles.

"I'm only trying to give them what they deserve."

"By punching them? That only suspends you and makes me a bigger target when you're gone." Mark glances at me then stares back in front of him as he walks. "Its just a game to them and the objective is to do the most damage they can to me before you hunt them down. My point is, you should just ignore it and they will eventually get bored at stop."

"You're telling me to stop caring?" I raise a brow. "I'm sorry Mark, there is no way I'm just going to stand by and watch you get hurt. I will do everything in my power to give them the worst injuries they could ever have in their entire life."

"Y/n-" Mark starts.

"You're not gonna convince me, Mark. You might as well give up." I shrug.
